Madison Hotel in Morristown

Goed hotel, meteen aan het station gelegen. We checkten vroeg in (9.00 uur) en dat was geen enkel probleem. We mochten zelfs nog gebruik maken van het ontbijtbuffet. Heel de dag door koffie/thee in de hal, heerlijke open haard. Het enige wat ik miste was een bar waar je wat kon drinken.

The only issue I had was the really pathetic WiFI connections in the room. I could hardly get my work done using it.

The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Every staff member I met was very helpful and took service very seriously. Only good things to say about my stay. There is a train track/train station adjacent to the property which would be convenient for access to the NJ rail system; however, it was kind of noisy. We worked with the hotel's catering staff […] to do a dinner for 40 during my stay and they did a wonderful job as well. Everyone talked about how good the food and service were, as well as how beautiful the setup was. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a business stay. We stayed three nights at the Madison Hotel. We were in town to visit family. The front desk was great! We requested a room change because we were originally sandwiched between rooms containing high school girls lacrosse players and we knew even before going into the room that they would be loud plus we have a 10 month old. They moved us with no questions […] asked, provided us with a crib and each day our room was cleaned and we were provided with fresh towels. The breakfast was good - nothing fancy and nothing hot - but there were bagels, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, fruit and pastries. We would definately stay again if we are in the area. Lees meer

The old hotel is very pretty from the outside but tired on the interior. Our room was quite spacious but seemed empty. The tv hardly worked-- very snowy picture and only 3 channels came in. Needed a fresh coat of paint! The lobby was heavily scented with an air freshener which was offensive . This was our second stay at The Madison. It is clean, kept in good repair, and the staff are very friendly. The continental breakfast is a very nice touch!

I appreciated the level of service and attention to detail. Room was very clean. One day I was late leaving my room, and the housekeeper greeted me in the hall to specifically ask if I wanted the room made up. I appreciated her trying to make sure she could get to the room.

We went there to have a girls pajama party. Lobby, pool, hot-tub were beautiful. Exercise room is sufficient. Continental breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and comfy,nice shower, but do not expect to watch current movies or have up to date selection of TV channels. This feature is out of the 1990s. The staff are lovely and bent over backwards […] to help us when cable box failed in two rooms. Then, new releases were not available, nor news channles or comedy central. The Madison works hard at being a hotel that appeals to business travelers, families and destination weddings. The restaurants are Old World in their appeal. The continental breakfast features a selection of fresh fruit, pastries, cereals and juices. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a little flair that seems to be a bit outdated, but still nice. […] The one area that needs to be addressed are the tvs. They are terribly old, not flat screens and the channel selection is minimal. I was assured that they are being replaced. They need to do it fast! How can a hotel have Keurig single cup coffee makers and not flat screen tvs? The fitness center could use a little updating as well. Otherwise, a very nice hotel, a staff that is friendly and helpful and two nice restaurants that don't have a chain hotel feel to them. The Maddison exudes old world charm with a classical architectural style and ornate antiques. The hotel was however built in the early 80's and has all of the modern amenities including heated pool, gym, free WiFi etc. Continental breakfast, 24 hour coffee and nightly cookies were a treat. The restaurants and bar were welcome. The staff were excellent. […] The a/c in our room kept triggering the safety cut off which meant fidgeting among the power cords and resetting it. Not really a good thing. This was reported and hopefully something would be done before the next guest. An excellent place to stay at a very reasonable price. Although the location is not convinient especially without a car, the quality of the hotel was great, especially for couples. Loved the big fireplace in the lobby! The room was also neat and the price was very nice comparative with the quality of the hotel (although there was a special deal when we stayed). Hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays and when trying to get a cab to go to the bars, the front desk was very helpful in doing so. Highly recommended!

We were there over Christmas and hotel was very well decorated, warm and welcoming. Bell staff and restaurant staff excellent. Very close to train station and convient for commuting to NYC.

Large inviting lobby decorated for the season, lots of seating and a real fireplace. Coffee, tea and hot cider with cookies for a midday snack. Very nice breakfast buffet.

Enjoyed our stay this past Saturday night at the Madison Hotel and dinner was fabulous as always at Rod's Steak & Seafood Grill. There was also a great band called Blues Soul playing in the Red Dog Tavern, so we ended up having a great time!

The Madison is a gorgeous hotel built in the '80's, but modeled in a colonial style to reflect the rich history of the area. The lobby is beautiful and they keep a real fire going in the evenings. Our room was very clean and comfortable, but basic. There was no fridge or microwave. They may have other rooms with these amenities, but I can't complain […] too much because the price was very reasonable. Parking is ample, and there is a train station right across the street that can take you downtown. Also, we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Lees meer

Beautiful hotel. Rooms and beds very comfortable. Just one little glitch with getting a rollaway bed for a 3rd adult in our room for his stay of 2 nights of our 5 nights stays, but the staff stepped up and provided a room at no cost for the first night and had the rollaway bed delivered the next morning for the 2nd night. Except for the $50 MANDATORY charge for incidentials (I told them I would have none, but that didn't make a difference). I told them I live locally and was staying just the 1 night while my home dried out a bit from the storm - still got the charge. Other than that, it was fine. Nice clean quiet room and thats all I wanted.

Overall very nice place. Nice clean room, everything was fine. The free breakfast was pretty much the typical frozen food at most hotels with cereal, juice, etc. By having 2 restaurants attached to this place I would expect fresh bread not the inedible frozen stuff. We ate at the steakhouse attached and that was excellent with great service.

I have stayed here several times and it's always comfortable, clean, convenient, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. However, it is a non-smoking hotel and this time my room smelled strongly of smoke and needed to be aired out. Not the hotel's fault if someone decides to smoke but housekeeping should have noticed and aired it out before I […] checked in. I reported it and they opened the window in the room while I was out. We had a wonderful time at this hotel! We absolutely loved the complimentary breakfast every morning right by the beautiful fireplace. We went to the tavern on Sat night and listened to a great band, while enjoying some drinks with friends. I would definitely come back to this hotel!

We were recently caught in the huge storm up North and took a room at the Madison Hotel until things blew over. We ended up staying two nights and were so impressed by the staff and accommodations here. We were expecting to lose power, and ultimately did. The hotel was very prepared. We all were given flashlights and glow sticks, there was a fire roaring […] in the fireplace, hot coffee and tea were always available, and they even managed to put out a hot breakfast without power. Location, parking, lobby are 5 star. Staff was very helpful. Bathroom needed some updating and breakfast area was too small to handle a busy weekend. I would and have recommended the Madison for either a business or pleasure stay.

A very pleasant one-night stay whilst visiting relatives in the area. Room was clean and comfortable, and in a nice area and good location. Very handy for the railway station if you want to take the train to Manhattan. Appreciated the complementary continental breakfast too :-)
