We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Heerlijk hotel, niet ver van Sea World, San Diego Zoo, uss Midway, Gaslamp, Old Town en het strand. Allemaal binnen acceptabele tijd per auto te bereiken. Super mooi hotel met ruime kamers. Het is wel een gehorig hotel, wat vooral in het weekend lawaai met zich mee bracht van buren. Door de weeks was de marine aan de overkant van het water met trainingen bezig. Dit vonden wij niet heel storend, maar het geluid is er wel. Verder zit ontbijt er niet bij in en is heel duur als je dat nog bij wilt nemen. Dat is echt een minpunt. Als je dit hotel boekt, hou er rekening mee dat het twee locaties zijn. Wij zaten in de tower en het 'grotere gebeuren' was verder op. We hadden wel een lobby, servicebalie, restaurant en verwarmd zwembad, dus dat is prima voor elkaar. De starbucks en de grote lobby van de foto's zit in het andere gedeelte. De kamers zijn echt super ruim! We hadden een ruim zitgedeelte en eettafel erbij, en dat voor een gewone kamer. Uitzicht op zee was erg mooi.

Het hotel ligt midden in het uitgaansgebied; veel restaurants in de omgeving en ook de winkelstraat is om de hoek. De bediening is gastvrij en zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is echter simpel, maar dat schijnt in Amerika normaal te zijn. Kortom: als je op zoek bent naar een centraal gelegen hotel met alle gewenste voorzieningen in de buurt en ruime kamers, dan ben je bij Gaslamp Plaza suites op het juiste adres!

Hip trendy. Wifi in hal beneden is gratis. Op kamer voor 24 uur vijftien dollar. Vind ik wel veel. Hotel is eigentijds. Drankjes aan de bar vrij prijzig. Hotel is Veel minder stijf en goedkoper dan het Hyatt. Wel werd er volop gebouwd en was dakterras niet open. Parkeren kan met valet parking (vijfendertig dollar per dag) of rondom hotel. Wel goed kijken of je goed staat ivm schoonmaken van de straat. Wij hadden boete van zestig dollar ivm neus van de auto de verkeerde kant op staan.
Ligging.
DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego - Hotel Circle bevindt zich in het zakendistrict van San Diego, dicht bij Fashion Valley Mall, Staatspark Old Town San Diego en Presidio Park. In de buurt liggen ook Universiteit van San Diego en Mission Valley Mall.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego - Hotel Circle heeft een buitenzwembad, een spabad en een fitnesscentrum. Draadloos internet is gratis beschikbaar in openbare ruimtes. Dit hotel met 3,5 sterren beschikt over zakelijke voorzieningen waaronder een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes voor kleine groepen en secretariële diensten. Dit hotel voor zaken biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een restaurant en een bar/lounge. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, een cateringdienst voor evenementen en zakelijke diensten regelen. Extra voorzieningen in deze accommodatie in art-decostijl zijn onder andere een dakterras, meertalig personeel en een cadeaushop of kiosk. Parkeerruimte is tegen betaling beschikbaar, maar beperkt. Dit is een rookvrije accommodatie. De volledige renovatie van deze accommodatie werd in december 2008 voltooid.

Elke kamer heeft een balkon. DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego - Hotel Circle heeft 219 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van MP3-dockingstations en een kluis. Een gratis snelle internetverbinding (draadloos en via kabel) is beschikbaar. Elke 32-inch flatscreen televisie heeft premiumkanalen via de kabel, een videogameconsole en betaalfilms. Elke kamer beschikt over een bureau, ergonomische stoelen en een luidsprekertelefoon met voicemail. Elke badkamer is voorzien van een bad, designer toiletartikelen en een föhn.
Elke kamer is voorzien van een koelkast en een koffiezetapparaat/waterkoker. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een gratis krant en een gratis weekkrant. Bovendien kun je op verzoek gebruikmaken van voorzieningen zoals hypoallergeen beddengoed, extra handdoeken/beddengoed en een telefonische wekdienst. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar. Op de kamers van DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego - Hotel Circle mag niet worden gerookt.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag worden aangerekend.

Heb een prima verblijf gehad in het Doubletree hotel in San Diego. De voorzieningen en de service in het hotel waren perfect. Het enige minpuntje was dat het met het openbaar vervoer een tijdje duurde om in Downtown te komen maar dit werd ruimschoots gecompenseerd door de prijs/kwaliteitverhouding van het hotel.

Love the hotel. Did not like that my room was on the same floor of a bunch of high school kids that were in town for a competition. Every morning they woke up around 8am and woke me up by running up and down the halls. Would have been nice for the hotel to ask if I was ok with being on the same floor. Hotel is very close to outdoor mall and great food […] places. Movie theater close by. Love the pool and hot tub. Lees meer

overall satisfied with my experience.....the only thing that was not pleasant was that the front entrance way always had flies in the air and there was no place to pick up any food in the area....had to drive on the freeway to pick up food
"over-priced hotel"
got a room with adjoining room and you could hear people from the other room. overnight parking of $16 is unexpected since you're a guest in the hotel

Bunk beds were the key reason we chose the property and our kids just loved having own room with bunk beds! Parking at $16 was high when they are free at all the other hotels around us including breakfast. Pool was heated and kids were allowed in jacuzzi. "Good Hotel & VFM"
We've stayed on Hotel Circle previously and knew what to expect. Not the best location if you'd like to explore the area on foot. It's a good place to be if you don't want to stay in the city centre. It's less than 10/15 mins by car from the major attractions. The hotel was fine. We asked to be moved after a few hours as our room was close to a plant […] room area & the constant humming became intolerable. Whilst nothing could be done there and then, they switched rooms for us and moved all of our bags for us while we were out the next day. Service was great, no dithering about our request. I never feel that its appropriate to rate hotel service as outstanding, so I won't start here. However, Double Tree's staff were particularly efficient though. Lees meer
"Great stay"
I definately would recommend this hotel. Our room was very clean. The decor was up-to-date. The furniture and fixtures were in good condition. The room was spacious and it was great to have a fridge in the room. Great swimming pool and spa. Excellent customer service. The hotel is also centrally located. I totally enjoyed my stay.
It is so inconvenience without any hotel shuttle service

"Great stay if no one is in the room next to you"
The hotel was nice, and room service was speedy. Had trouble getting cream for in-room coffee service. Exterior walls were virutally soundproof to freeway close by, but interior walls were thin. Could hear crying baby and movement in the next room.

"Overall okay."
Parking charge too high. Toilet overflowed and had to plunge it myself. Fridge did not work and was not repaired promptly No heat in room in March. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good. It was a great deal with the bed and breakfast option added. Overall, ok, but hampton inn that I have stayed in before was better.
"Nice place to stay"
This hotel is a great place to stay. The rooms are nice and all have balcony's. They are all very clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the plumbing needs some work. Both our sink and tub became clogged during our stay. Engineering admitted they had a problem but quickly fixed the issue. The pool and fire pit are a pleasant place to relax […] and use. Parking maybe an issue if your vehicle is over 6'0 since the parking garage clearance is low and only a few dozen uncovered spots are available. During our stay a wedding and a prom took place at the hotel's ball room and outdoor event tent. I am pleased to say even with all this activity occurring we were not disrupted in any way. Overall if your going to stay in hotel circle this would be in the top 3. Lees meer
"Great family hotel"
Stayed here for our Sea World trip. Lots of restaurants and a mall near by. Sea World was also a few miles away. We were upgraded to a suite that had bunk beds (which my son was excited about)! Had the breakfast buffet downstairs one morning and really enjoyed it. Pool looked nice but not warm enough outside to use it. We love staying at the double […] tree! Lees meer

Stayed at the hotel for one night. We were satisfied with our stay. Hotel was clean, front desk was courteous, got our free cookies, and it was quiet. Would recommend staying here.

"Good location and Freeway close to many things"
Overall the hotel was great but had a problem with the A/C. The worst part of the stay was eating at the on site restaurant.....food was pretty bad! A mall is just a few miles away and there are many choices of food places!
"Doubletree in San Diego"
This was a lovely hotel in the Hotel area NE of San Diego. It's close to the airport and the local attractions we wanted to see (Sea World, the zoo, etc). Downtown is about 10 min, Old Town is 5 min, La Jolla is about 20 min (due to traffic). Overall, it was a good experience. The room was as advertised and we enjoyed the small balcolny, which was a […] surprise. There were 2 issues. First, the second day we were there the power went out in the morning around 7:30 and didn't come back on until after 5PM because the power company had to put in a new transformer. This was not due to a storm or anything else and it was only our hotel. Being on the 8th floor made it a long climb to our room. The next night, the hotel decided to resurface some tubs in the room below us and the smell of paint thinner came thru the air vents. We solved this by opening the sliding door onto the balcolny, although that let in traffic noise (the hotel is right off of I-8 in an area filled with other hotels. The hotel did comp us a night for the day the power was out as well as our parking charge for the other issue (at $16/day that was quite nice), so I do feel they take good care of their guests and I would stay there again. "DoubleTree San Diego Hotel Circle"
My only concern with the hotel was it's location. Unfortunately there was nothing that I could access from the hotel without having to drive to it. I did not like the location at all.

"Overall Pleased"
We were overall pleased with our stay. The only disappointing thing was the room service. The room service consisted of gentleman handing us a brown paper bag with our food in to go containers. It wasn't our idea of room service. For the extra $6 service charge, we could have easily walked down 2 flights of stairs to the restaurant. Everything else […] was great. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful with suggestions on where to eat. They even printed out driving directions to each restaurant they suggested. We would definitely stay there again. "Double Tree by Hilton in San Diego, CA"
The receptionist was kind enough to let us check in at a very early hour with no charge. My family appreciated this a lot because we came from a nine hour drive and were in desperate need of a room to rest.
We have stayed in many different hotels in the San Diego area, and this one was the best by far. Clean rooms, close to all attractions, great service, attentive staff. My only complaint would be a $16.00 parking fee. That seemed a bit expensive.

Our stay at the Double Tree in SanDiego was very memorable. We enjoyed the amenities very much and the overall quality of the hotel. There was a rucus one night on our floor but it was dealt with very well
