We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Heerlijk hotel, niet ver van Sea World, San Diego Zoo, uss Midway, Gaslamp, Old Town en het strand. Allemaal binnen acceptabele tijd per auto te bereiken. Super mooi hotel met ruime kamers. Het is wel een gehorig hotel, wat vooral in het weekend lawaai met zich mee bracht van buren. Door de weeks was de marine aan de overkant van het water met trainingen bezig. Dit vonden wij niet heel storend, maar het geluid is er wel. Verder zit ontbijt er niet bij in en is heel duur als je dat nog bij wilt nemen. Dat is echt een minpunt. Als je dit hotel boekt, hou er rekening mee dat het twee locaties zijn. Wij zaten in de tower en het 'grotere gebeuren' was verder op. We hadden wel een lobby, servicebalie, restaurant en verwarmd zwembad, dus dat is prima voor elkaar. De starbucks en de grote lobby van de foto's zit in het andere gedeelte. De kamers zijn echt super ruim! We hadden een ruim zitgedeelte en eettafel erbij, en dat voor een gewone kamer. Uitzicht op zee was erg mooi.

Het hotel ligt midden in het uitgaansgebied; veel restaurants in de omgeving en ook de winkelstraat is om de hoek. De bediening is gastvrij en zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is echter simpel, maar dat schijnt in Amerika normaal te zijn. Kortom: als je op zoek bent naar een centraal gelegen hotel met alle gewenste voorzieningen in de buurt en ruime kamers, dan ben je bij Gaslamp Plaza suites op het juiste adres!

Hip trendy. Wifi in hal beneden is gratis. Op kamer voor 24 uur vijftien dollar. Vind ik wel veel. Hotel is eigentijds. Drankjes aan de bar vrij prijzig. Hotel is Veel minder stijf en goedkoper dan het Hyatt. Wel werd er volop gebouwd en was dakterras niet open. Parkeren kan met valet parking (vijfendertig dollar per dag) of rondom hotel. Wel goed kijken of je goed staat ivm schoonmaken van de straat. Wij hadden boete van zestig dollar ivm neus van de auto de verkeerde kant op staan.
"small suite"
The suite was very small. No room for luggage if utilizing the pullout sofa bed. Sofa bed in very poor state. Sink in room no separation from sleeping area. No microwave. Very small fridge. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean.

"Comfort Inn & Suites Zoo SeaWorld Area"
Everything was GREAT !!! The people working there filled all my needs during my stay. The breakfast was SO GOOD ! My family really loved it ! Definitely recommend this hotel to EVERYONE and would love to stay there again :D

"Two-night stay"
Thought very highly of this hotel. It's a little older, but not run-down. Surrounding neighborhood was commercial/other hotels, and it's proximity to I8, 163, and Old Town (where you can catch public transit) is very convenient. Parking is kind of tight, though we never had an issue finding a spot. The staff is friendly. The breakfast area is a bit […] small, with standard "continental" fare, and was packed both times we went. The split-room, with a sliding door separating sections of the room and bunk beds, is a good idea if you have children. All in all I would stay there again and recommend it to a friend. Lees meer

We were very happy with this hotel, specially the food. The beds were also very comfortable and soft. I slept all night. The only thing we did not like was the handicap parking. When we arrived there was a very long truck blocking the 2nd handicap stall and that was very frustrating. We also did not see one in the parking lot. Other than that it was […] just awesome. This hotel is right off the 8 about 3 minutes from Seaworld The pool and jacuzzi was great breakfast was good (but definitely crowded) best bet get the food and eat in your room. "great service, above average hotel"
We stayed in one of the kids suites on the 4th floor. Pros:We were greeted by the very courteous and accommodating front office staff - and the great service continued throughout our 2-night stay. Our suite was small but had everything we needed. The kids loved the bunk beds, and we enjoyed the privacy in our "bedroom." The kitchen "area" is tiny - […] reminded me of a dorm room - but again, the microwave and mini fridge were sufficient for making snacks, microwave dinners, and warming up milk. The complimentary breakfast included a variety of choices for everyone, and was very decent (especially for the price). The breakfast room was well stocked, clean, and well serviced as well. Cons: the first suite we checked in hit us with a very pungent odor, like a mix of mildew and mildew remover. We asked to switch rooms and immediately got offered an identical room, this time with a strong pine-sol smell (much better than mildew, thank you). We had some issues with plumbing and internet access. And finally, the beds and pillows were too soft. However, for a 2.5 star hotel, it more than met our expectations. Lees meer

everything was fine. the shower was and sink was clogged up so the water wouldn't drain quickly...other than that, everything was good.

There is one thing that makes my blood boil, that is not knowing about hidden charges, I paid for this hotel in full before the stay, so I thought when come to find out I got another charge of $7.95 to my credit card yes it's not alot of money but when you dont know about a charge and they dont tell you about a charge....so anyways be aware!!!!

"Comfort Inn and Suites Zoo Seaworld Area"
This hotel was fine, clean and comfortable. However we spent the day at Seaworld and had 2 starving children after leaving. There is one restaurant close to this hotel and it is pretty expensive, so we ordered a pizza from an advertisement left in the room. DO NOT DO THAT, it was horrible. We should have just driven around until we found a restaurant […] elsewhere. Hotel is fine for the price, but don't expect to have a great choice of eating establishments anywhere close by. Lees meer
"Good Hotel, bad elevator"
Comfort Inn was a very nice hotel, close to everything and the rooms were very clean. The only drawback was the sketchy elevator from the garage to the rooms. It was small, dark and very slow. Even the service people had to use it to move housekeeping carts and dirty towels.
"Hotel close to many hot spots"
Room is very clean and the price is great. Hotel is near by to the malls, restaurants, seaworld, and more. Great place to stay at. Only one problem, walls are pretty thin. You can hear people running, talking in the halls. Other then that, overall great quality hotel. Plus, free wifi and breakfast.
"Comfort Inn Zoo/Sea World"
This was a great hotel. It was clean and well-kept and the staff was always very helpful. We had a bit of a noise complaint one night, but the staff and security took care of the issue as soon as we reported. The location was prime too, within minutes of the Gaslamp Quarter, SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo, and about 20 minutes from a great outlet mall […] just north of the national border. "Good Hotel With Some Bad Rooms"
This is a nice hotel with clean comfortable rooms, Unfortunately our room was on the freeway side and you could hear all the traffic noise even with the a/c running so i would recommend this hotel if you can get a room on the other side of the building
"Perfect"
We loved it. Clean, convenient, beds and pillows very comfortable, staff friendly, I could go on and on. The only concern was the very, very tight parking places but it worked out. This hotel is great!

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in November and had a great time. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, we got free wi-fi (although parking was $8/night) which was great to be able to check out what was near us, directions, park hours, etc. We wound up renting bikes for a day - highly recommend Stay Classy bike rentals - as there is […] a bike trail that runs right from the hotel all the way to the beach. Old Town San Diego is just on the other side of the freeway, and the Fashion Valley Mall (with Cheesecake Factory) is just a three minute drive as well. The free breakfast had a good selection but we weren't wild about the food itself - pretty manufactured for the most part and had to pick and choose what would taste good. "My stay at the comfort inn"
The hotel was very clean and organized. I was well taken care of when i checked in. Staff member are polite and greetful. The beds were comfortable except that the pillows are a little small....maybe a little bigger would be nice. When it came to having breakfast pretty crowded but i was still able to get food perhaps a little bit more room just because […] the tables are so close theres hardly any room to get across...other than that i had a good experience here...i would definitely book to stay here again. "Comfort Inn San Diego - great hotel"
I will definately come back to this hotel if we ever come back to San Diego. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was clean with modern furniture. The location was perfect also. Very close to the city, downtown and Sea World.
"Good breakfast"
This place is a decent value for the money. Nothing special about the rooms here. Pretty outdated. At least the one we were in anyway. Seems to be a very popular place for kids as they are EVERYWHERE. Don't stay here if you don't like kids. Best part was the extensive breakfast options. Good stuff. I'd stay here again just for the breakfast.

When driving up to the hotel with our grand kids in the car, a scantily clad woman (bra and panties with netting) , who looked like a prostitute, was entering a truck across from the hotel. Our room had many staines on the carpet. The continental breakfast was not supposed to close until 9:30 am. We got there at 9:20 am and found a locked door.

"Buffet"
The Overpowering smell of the waffle maker stank the breakfast area. Beds were not so comfortable and pillows were too soft.

We've stayed here before. Great breakfast choices, very convenient location and rooms are quite nice. We really liked having the small separation between our bed and the kids' bunkbeds- it made it feel a little more private!

"Gppd convient location"
We were there on business/fun trip. Our room was very nice, clean, and confortable. Breafast was good, but a little crowded, but was well stocked. Staff was helpful and courteous. Would stay again.

We spend the weekend visiting Sea World and the Zoo and this location was perfect!! We were traveling with 5 children and the room was spacious enough for all of us to fit comfortable! The breakfast experience was a nightmare!! Very long lines, no where to sit, and had to bring our food back to our room to eat! Other than that it was pretty great!

We had two rooms, one with 2 beds and a separate room with a Sofa bed and TV. The 2nd room was a king with a separate room with bunkbeds & TV. The kids enjoyed. The rooms had microwave, ref, coffe maker & supplies, dryer, ironing board which were very convenient. The BF was crowded with guests & I would suggest they make it bigger & provide more waffle […] makers. The BF selection was decent & the staff were working very hard to keep the place clean & the food replenished. Good family hotel. However, they need more good working elevators with decent floors. We were in bldg 4 & the floor of the elevator really need upgrading. I had two trips with service people with me as they do not have a service elevator. BF was not accessible directly from my room, I had to go to the main building & go up all the way to the 4th floor & they only had 1 elevator. It is good value though for the price we paid. Lees meer

3 adults & 3 kids stayed in suite for trip to S.D. Room was smaller than we thought but it worked out fine. Very convenient as it close to sea world & mission beach, were we spent most of out time. No major issues with hotel or staff. Room was clean and staff was courteous & helpfull. Would stay here again.

The hotel was excellent close to everything sea world , mission beach, old town, outlets , even the drive to Lego land was easy. Breakfast was good , hotel service was good and friendly. Very nice hotel for only being a 2 almost 3 star hotel, I rate it at a 3-4 star has all the amenities that you need. Would stay again !!!! "Great place stay"
We stayed at this hotel for 7 days. And loved our stay there. The hotel was one of the cleanest properties we have stayed at. The staff went out of their way to make the stay pleasant. Polite helpful and fast.. Beds were comfy and room was cleaned well every single day. I would say you get more than your monies worth when you stay here.

"Careful with your kids on the suite type rooms"
Stayed for 3 nights in October, the hotel is ideally located for many SD attractions if you have a car, but not much nearby if you are walking. The suites are comfortable, but the elevator by the pool needs a little attention since people come wet from the pool and the floorboards are swollen. The separate room is great for kids and has a bunkbed, which […] they loved and can be great considering the inherent dangers of a bunkbed itself, no problem there. The problem lies with the big angular drawer handles on the bottom bed. On the last night of our stay our youngest fell off a very shallow depth and shouldn't have been a problem except she hit her face on the drawer handle and split her lip, which required stitches in the hospital. "This is the perfect place to stay with kids!"
The room was spacious with 2 queen beds and a sofa. Plenty of space for our 2 kids to spread out. The pool and whirlpool areas were clean and inviting. The desk staff was efficient and polite. The breakfast bar was wonderful. There were many healthy options and a great waffle bar. My only complaint would be that the breakfast area was extremely small. […] Get there before 8am if you would like to sit down! Like this hotel cause it is clean and close to the freeway. Breakfast is a little crazy and the elevator needs work but otherwise great hotel. We will book again. This was our second visit.

Just came back after 3 nights stay in Oct 2011,booked and paid in full through hotels dot com with the best rate online. Hotel is very clean, convenient location close to all attractions (specially if you have a car). Hot breakfast items offer a nice start of the day. We are a family of 4 and were comfortably fit in the 2-queen beds room. The pool & […] hot tub are nice but not so big so it might be awkward if hotel is busy. Weather wasn't hot so i didn't test the A/C which looked old but in good condition. There was enough parking space on the street so i even avoided the $7.95 fee per day. The only minor drawback is the noisy bathroom fan (but who cares!) My minibar wasn't working and was replaced right away upon my request. Overall i would definitely recommend this hotel for families or anyone. Lees meer
