Super hotel. Kleine keten van hotels met veel zorg en aandacht voor de gasten. Mooie locatie en veel comfort en een erg goed ontbijt. Het personeel is vriendelijk en voorkomend en het hotel straalt comfort en klasse uit.

Zoals in de titel vermeld, was de verhouding tussen prijs en kwaliteit wel vergelijkbaar, het ontbijt dat inbegrepen was bestond enkel uit donuts en koffie, thee of fruitsap, ook dit was best te doen maar wel eentonig en staande, geen tafels en of stoelen De reden waarom ik daar was was DISNEYLAND en dan lag dit hotel echt wel in de buurt, dichtbij autostrades die je overal naar toe brengen op de ene al wat meer verkeer dan op de andere Indien nodig zou ik hier terug durven reserveren

Een uitstekend motel op een toplocatie (slechts enkele minuten lopen naar Disneyland of het Anaheim Convention Center) voor een prijs die zeker 2-3x lager is dan van de andere hotels in dezelfde omgeving. Het verwarmde zwembad en de whirlpool waren schoon en ook in het winterseizoen volledig operationeel, de kamer service was uitstekend, er was geen geluidsoverlast en het eenvoudige maar verse ontbijt kon op een fraai dakterras genuttigd worden. Een 2-sterren motel met de kwaliteit van een 3-4 sterren hotel!

Ligging.
Surf And Sand Resort ligt aan het strand in het centrum van Laguna Beach, dicht bij Main Beach Park, Laguna Art Museum en Festival of Arts. Andere bezienswaardigheden in de buurt van dit hotel zijn Heisler Park en Sawdust Art Festival Grounds.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Slenter buiten over het strand van dit hotel om helemaal tot rust te komen. Surf And Sand Resort heeft een volledig uitgeruste spa, een buitenzwembad en een spabad. De zakelijke voorzieningen bij deze 4-sterrenaccommodatie zijn onder andere een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes voor kleine groepen en een technische helpdesk. Dit hotel voor zaken biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een koffiebar/café en een bar/lounge. Het personeel kan op verzoek hulp bij excursies/tickets, een huwelijksservice en een cateringdienst voor evenementen regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een spa, een fitnesscentrum en een turks stoombad. Dit is een rookvrije accommodatie.

Elke kamer heeft een patio met uitzicht op de oceaan of het strand.Surf And Sand Resort heeft 167 kamers met een (laptop)kluis en een minibar. Elke kamer heeft een flatscreen televisie met premiumkanalen via digitale ontvanger, een dvd-speler en betaalfilms. Elke kamer beschikt over een bureau, een gratis krant en een telefoon met directe buitenlijn met voicemail. Elke badkamer is voorzien van een bad/douchecombinatie, een dubbele wastafel, badjassen en designer toiletartikelen.
Elke kamer is voorzien van een koelkast en een koffiezetapparaat/waterkoker. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere pantoffels en make-up/scheerspiegels. Bovendien kun je op verzoek gebruikmaken van voorzieningen zoals een magnetron, massagebehandelingen op de kamer en hypoallergeen beddengoed. Een turndownservice wordt elke avond aangeboden terwijl een huishoudservice dagelijks beschikbaar is. Op de kamers van Surf And Sand Resort mag niet worden gerookt.

Ten westen van Laguna Beach ligt het ongerepte strand van Crystal Cove State Park, dat snorkelaars en sportduikers aantrekt.

There were two issues, otherwise everything was great: 1) the phone in the room only lasted about 5 minutes due to a bad battery, 2) I ordered a bottle of pretty expensive wine via room service and the bottle was bad. It took an inordinate amount of time to get another bottle. When it was brought I was told that they weren't sure if the bottle was bad […] or it smelled bad because the glasses were dirty. "A Very Nice Hotel"
My wife, daughter (17) and I stayed at Surf & Sand for the Thanksgiving weekend - the goal was to get away and relax. This is one of the nicer hotels I have experienced - the ambiance is great, sort of a mix of 5-star atmosphere and beach casual; the room was very nice - right over the beach. The waves are very loud, which we liked, but it could be […] a minus for some. There are ear plugs next to your bed at night. There is a nice coffee shop next to a plush outdoor seating area adjacent to the lobby that has a fabulous view of the ocean and Catalina Island from about 6 stories up. We did not eat at the restaurant, but had a poolside lunch of fish tacos and burgers that was very good. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was beautifully decorated, immaculately maintained, and had every imaginable convenience. The staff were highly professional and helpful throughout our stay. Beautiful hotel in perfect setting right on white sandy beach. Every wish catered for by very attentive staff and both beachside bar and restaurant very special. I have stayed at this hotel twice and it was wonderful both times. You just can't be stressed out while you are there (unless you think too much about the price).

The hotel is located directly on the water and most of the rooms have an ocean view of some kind. If you're used to the quiet of a farm, the ocean waves might keep you awake. Nice rooms, private balcony, sunset view, good food in room service, wonderful spa treatments and massages. Beautiful place. The sound of ocean waves folding right underneath balcony. Couldnt feel any closer to ocean than when staying in these rooms. I look forward to staying again. :O)

"Surf & Sand in Laguna- 4 star? Hmmm..."
We found the hotel very nice, the oceanside pool area charming and location outstanding. However, for a 4 star hotel they have some pretty major flaws: 1. no airconditioning. 2. A poolside gate that blasts a hideous noise throughout the oceanfront courtyard over which many/most rooms overlook. Due to the lack of air it is essential to open your patio […] door to take advantage of that wonderful seabreeze. Once that door is open, however, you are subject to the banging gate. It was our experience that this went on almost all night as hotel guests use the gate to get back into the resort after a midnight beach stroll or 6am morning jog. Even the hotel staff use that gate constantly and let it BANG. If you are a heavy sleeper it may not bother you. If you have young children that you'd like to keep sleeping you may want to re-think it. Even if you do not have babies, other guests do and believe me they wake up and cry with their patio doors open. To me it seems hard to phathom a 4 star hotel without air, or at the very least one that can't resolve the BANGING gate issue. It got to the point where my husband and I did not even want to lay by the pool b/c we'd cringe each time someone let it slam. We were scheduled for 3 nights and left after 2 b/c we needed to catch up on our sleep. For the price they need to really get it right and replace or fix that silly gate. Or upgrade the rooms to have air so there is a noise buffer. Lees meer

"So perfect I did not want to leave!"
My room was overlooking the ocean; I slept with the door open and let the sound of the surf crashing below act as a lullaby by which I could drift off to sleep. On my balcony I watched the spectacular sunset, the dolphins playing with the last surfers of the evening, and the sea change from azure to midnight blue before my very gaze. That same evening, […] I was served appetizers in the company of a wine-list-type selection of sparkling water (a first for me) with the open salty air held at bay with radiant heaters and a light jacket. The food was great and the service even better. I walked to a fabulous sushi bar to meet business associates in a funky-yet-cool neighborhood. Breakfast the next day was equal to the night before and the service remained spectacular -- I enjoyed the morning by the sand with a paper and no rush. If you have the means and opportunity – run don’t walk and stay at this wonderful enclave by the sea in Laguna! Lees meer

We were right on the beach facing the ocean and the sound of the surf was very relaxing. The location was about a ten minute walk into the heart of Laguna Beach with all of the restaurants and shops. I would stay at this hotel again without hesitation.

I pre-booked and paid for a premium corner room. When I arrived we were not in the type room we had booked and paid for. When the staff at the front desk was asked about the change they admitted that they showed I had booked the premium corner room but were unable (unwilling?) to tell me why there was the discrepancy. When asked to adjust the room fee […] they claimed they had to check 'the rates' at the time of my booking(Dec.2008 !)and would call me. I have yet to hear from them after nearly three weeks.
