Hotel Du Fort in Montréal

This hotel suits us perfectly. The staff is always most accommodating, the beds, pillows and bed linens are of good quality. The location suits us well because it is located close to family. At $19.95, parking is a little pricey but we've got used to that. The complimentary Wifi works well and is a great value added feature.

Perfect location just off St Catherine Street. Underground parking available for a reasonable fee.

The hotel was wonderful, the room was clean, conformable and had the amenities of a fridge, coffee maker and sink. Staff in the front desk were friendly and helpful in all my request. Hotel is close to metro and bus stations, and lots of places to eat and buy food (great location).

Not a bad hotel - just near a sleazy part of St. Catherine St. which is unfortunate.

Excellent location for the purpose of our stay! Rooms were very clean and personnel were very kind. Parking in garage for a fee but I knew my car would be safe. This is where we'll stay next time we visit Montreal.

Nice room, helpful staff, good location, very good value.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were nicely decorated. The breakfast buffet was very adequate. We had a lovely girl's weekend in Montreal and used this hotel as our base. I highly recommend!

I very much enjoyed my brief stay. The staff was friendly,courteous and helpful. My room was spacious clean and quiet. A very nice place.

We would highly recommend the Hotel Du Fort. We Had a beautiful clean room with a great view.

We were very please and will book there again on our next trip to Montreal. Very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. Will recommend to anyone!.

I have stayed at hotel Du Forte several times, The rooms are consistantly clean, but getting a little worn out since my first trip. The best thing about this hotel is its location right near all the action on St Catherine street. Unless you park on the street, you will have to pay an additonalal fee to use a parking garage connected to the hotel. Hotel Du Fort this is a vey nice, well-kept hotel, friendly staff eager to help solving problems and to provide information. We booked a double queen room, which was large and comfortable, Internet worked in the room. We had booked a non-smoking room, they first put us into a smoking room, but then upon our insistence, got us a non-smoiking room and […] gave as free breakfasts as apology and compensation. Nice! We booked two king rooms and were pleasantly surprised how comfortable and convenient it was. Our rooms were on the 11th floor, above street noise and with very little activity although the hotel was full. A breakfast buffet was available on the 2nd floor until 10 am or 11 am on weekends. The check in staff the 27th of August was excellent. the room was dirty especially the TV cabinet, as I could see a lot of dust on top of it. the remote control didn't work and since I was styaying only one night, I didn't bother. let early Sunday morning the gentelman at the front desk was plain rude. One thing that I believe needs improvement is the cleanliness of the lobby. There was an odor that permeated throughout the lobby, and elevators. Since I am pregnant, I am very sensitive to smells. The room itself was very clean.

We were able to sleep in without any outside disturbances and the rooms were very clean. .

Five of us stayed in a room with a king bed and pull out couch. The couch was not the most comfortable, it could use replacing. But the room was clean and the staff was very friendly. Would use this hotel again. Not far from the subway for getting around.

Christine at the front desk was exceptional. Breakfast was average and was not included . The room was great and loved the location.

The hotel was clean and the staff was nice.. I stayed in a suite and the air conditioning in one of the rooms was not working.. They did bring us a fan though. I would stay there again

We were in town for the Canadian Grand Prix. The other reviews were very helpful in chosing this hotel. It was nice, clean and the staff helpful. They changed their policy on internet and now it is complementary, which was a nice surprise. Its not in the nicest neighborhood, but its convenient to at least 3 metro stations and is near the activities/restaurants […] on St. Catherine and Crescent street. Lees meer

Well located walking distance from Crescent avenue and not far from Old Montreal (Taxi)

Located directly on Saint Catherine makes this hotel super convenient for all the best Montreal has to offer. Near 3 Metro stations. 5 minute walk to Crescent Street. The room I had was huge for 4 people. Good hotel. Would recommend.

I, and my wife have stayed at this hotel many times, and are totally satyisfied, and happy with it. It is reasonable, ideally located, provides great comfort, and exellent service

This was my 3rd stay, It is a very pleasant Hotel , breakfast is very good. Unfortunately the bed I slept on for my LAST visit was very uncomfortable and "squeaky " so not much sleep. I felt the bed was old and needs to be renewed. Reasonably priced,

For the cost I do not think this hotel was worth the cost of the stay. I was particularly unhappy about the additional cost of internet and the inconsistency of service -- some people were fabulous, some really mediocre. For the cost there are many competitors I will try when I return.

Very nice smaller hotel with first class amenities. Nice large room - with sitting area and desk. It's a $10 cab ride from old town and the train station and the neighborhood is a little seedy... but close to a posh neighborhood and lots of restaurants. Beautiful hotel!!! $11 breakfast buffet is a nice touch.

Our room was not ready when we arrived in early afternoon, so they upgraded us to an executive suite....fabulous. Two generous sized rooms, two bathrooms, a terrific view of the city. The staff was excellent for all three nights of our stay. The parking in the underground garage was extremely convenient. The neighborhood is full of universities, so […] is full of inexpensive restaurants of every conceivable ethnic variety. There are two very good supermarkets on the corner that provide high quality take out food, which we enjoyed having in the suite. Only one block to the excellent Center for Architecture. About a 5 minute walk to the Guy Concordia Metro station, and about 10 minute walk to the also excellent Musee d' Beaux Arts. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Lees meer

This hotel proved to be a good choice for people driving into Montreal, but then using public transportation to get around the city -- because it has a parking garage underneath and is located in between two subway stops, each about 3 blocks away. Great big room and very quiet. Comfy bed and lots of pillows. The nicest housekeeper you could possibly […] hope for. Sweet desk clerks who were patient with our lousy and mostly nonfunctional French. Fitness room with good, solid machines. I'd give it a perfect rating, except that the buffet breakfast is a tad expensive for what you get and the toilet was reluctant, on a couple of occasions, to flush completely. The only complaint I have is the internet access cost of $13/day. Come on! Nowadays most hotels have free internet!

Right in the middle of downtown - walking distance to almost all tourists attractions, except may be Botanical Garden, which we took the subway to get to. Subway station is 5 min away. Hotel is nice, staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast is ok, not fancy, but good. Internet in room was working fine (have to pay for it separately), and they have […] a free computer with internet access in the little room they call a business center. TV works well and has enough channels in English and French. No problems with bathroom - all clean and neat. We would definitely come back to stay in this hotel. Lees meer

The hotel is at a nice location, close to metro stations, shops and restaurants. However, when we arrived to check in at 5:30pm (check-in is suppose to start at 4pm), the rooms were not ready. Around 10 guests stood around the hotel lobby, waiting for their rooms to be cleaned. The hotel ended up moving us to a different suite because our original room […] was still not ready after half an hour. Some guests were moved to a different hotel near by. We stayed in the Prestige/ Executive suite for 2 nights. This was near the elevator however it was very quiet. It was likely the quietest room I have ever stayed in. Not much of a view though. Room also had blackout curtains which was nice. Fridge worked perfectly, just had to turn it colder since they probably set it warm to save electricity. The staff […] at the hotel are very helpful and friendly. The hotel location is great; close enough to the metro as well as lots of shops and eateries. Ask the front desk for a map because theirs is much larger and more detailed than the pamphlets. The one outrageous thing was the cost of parking. 20$ a day! Although I'm sure space is limited in Montreal since the parking is underground. I do not have any complaints (other than parking price) and I would stay here again. Lees meer

We've stayed at the Hotel du Fort several times. It generally has better rates than others of the same quality in Montreal, and this is because the location is not quite as good--the immediate neighborhood on Ste.-Catherine is a little seedy. However, you can easily get a cab, or just pop up a couple blocks to Maisonneuve and things improve. The last […] couple times we stayed there, we got upgrades to a suite, and these are spacious and comfortable. Regular rooms are fine, too. Breakfast buffet is not so great--fresh fruit would be nice, for example. But overall, I'd certainly stay again; hard to beat for the price. Lees meer
