Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers in Chicago

We selected this hotel for our family during a 3 day stay over spring break. We were looking for a nice place downtown with a pool for some down time activity. The pool was gross! There wasn't a hotel employee to be found and the wet towels were heaped all over the pool deck. In addition, we had booked 2 rooms. The first was ready because we agreed […] to take a handicapped room but the second room was not ready until 7:30 at night and the front desk staff was pleasant but somewhat rude about it. There we people all over the lobby with luggage waiting for rooms that were supposed to be ready at 3:00 for the stated check in time. The rooms were Ok, but we were a bit suprised that we were told they had recently been renovated. They were comfortable enough but nothing upgraded from a 2-3 star hotel. On a positive note, the link cafe on the lower level was nice with the computers for free access to the internet. The woman working the coffee counter waws very pleasant and helpful. We visit Chicago often and will stay across the River and forget about a hotel with a pool for these visits. Lees meer

They would not honor beds in the room.

My only issue was I booked a room with two double beds for two adults and two kids and when I got there they only had rooms with one king bed available so we had to stay in two different rooms and they were not even adjoining rooms!! Everything else was beautiful and clean and the hotel staff was very friendly!!

Had some problems with our air conditioner, but that was quickly fixed. The location was right on the Rivergreenway, close to Navy Pier and only a few short blocks to the train. Would definitely stay again.

Despite the 3PM check-in time, we weren't able to get into a room until almost 4PM. Despite our reservation in a Club room with breakfast, we were told there was no record of us booking a Club room through Hotels.com so they put us in a standard room. After arguing with desk staff, they finally did move our room and gave us tickets for breakfast, but […] we wasted a couple hours of our short weekend dealing with it and starting out on the wrong foot. It's a nice property but seems poorly managed, and there are many nice hotels close by, so I would recommend going elsewhere and wouldn't stay here next time. Lees meer

We have stayed here numerous times over the years but will not be back. The Lobby remains wonderful as well as the hotels location. However, with 2 young children, we were given a room right outside the elevator leaving me to continually get out if bed until 3 am to ask people to please not congregate outside our room. We were on the Club Level and […] had ocktIls ad breakfast in the Lounge. Both times, there were dirty dishes and glassware left all over the tables and they ran out of many items/could not keep up with the pace of the service needed. Our shower drain was clogged so a shower was more of a bath, and the television remote was missing. The pool was so overcrowded you could have walked across it on people's heads. The last thing that really bothered us is that the hotel is now charging $51 per night for valet parking, yet this was not pointed out to us upon arrival or check in. We have paid less than half this amount at other luxury hotels in Chicago. The parking is done by an outside agency but negotiated by Sheraton. The hotel desk staff refused to do anything about the bill or our experience on this stay. Lees meer

The pool is extremely small for such a large hotel, it was over crowded. The towels were over flowing in the basket in the pool and in the locker room. 6 people called house keeping to pick up and they never did. The valet parking was $51 a night and took over 25 minutes to get your car brought around.

The valet staff were amazingly helpful and polite. The front desk staff extremely efficient and friendly. But the room....AWESOME! Loved the comforters and the bed was absolutely amazing as well. The kids enjoyed the pool! THANK YOU for helping my family make a wonderful memory!

Says check in is at 3pm, most hotels its easy to check in earlier than that. We checked in at 3:30 and was told our room wasn't ready and they had no idea when it would be ready! Clerk was not kind at all because we were probably the 100th person she had to deal with in an hour. There were probably 80 in the lobby either standing in line or waiting […] around for a room. The people next to us had 5 young children and were told at least another 2 hrs! We had to store our luggage and you should have seen it, bags were lined up deep in a side hall. We were never offered any kind of compensation, got a phone call about 40 minutes later and still had to wait in another big line. The only thing that helped make up for it was the have the most comfortable, fluffy beds. Once we got to our room it was nice but don't think I would go back. Lees meer

While staying there, we wanted to save our meal from dinner and placed it in the mini fridge in the room. Surprise, didn't know the minute you pull something out of the fridge to make room , your charged for item removed. Now have a 67 dollar bill to fight with hotel over.

I would say that the price was right, but there are hidden costs. It was difficult to load and unload the bags yourself. You don't need to use the valet parking though. There is a parking garage next door to the hotel that you can check in and out of once during your stay since the hotel is withing walking distance of everything in Chicago (provided […] that you enjoy walking like we do). Also, the pool was crowded and there was no whirlpool or clean towels and only one person working to maintain the cleanliness of it. The "complimentary" food and beverage items in the room are not free, so don't open them unless you want to pay a huge premium for them the next day at checkout. Lees meer

PRICES FOR ROOM ENTRIES WHERE WAY OUT OF PRICE

Great stay! Hotel was clean. Staff was very nice, we arrived early and our room was ready (no extra charge). The location is Great if you are going to Navy pier or just shop downtown. Next trip to Chicago, we will be staying at the Sheraton again.

Well first off, the hotel was nice when you first came in. The staff that waiting on us was very pleasant and helpful. It was in a great location. That's about it. We went up to our room and even though it was very spacious, the set up was terrible.There was a little sitting area with a table and a tv. But the TV was at least 30 feet from the bed and […] it was a very small tv 26 inch max. So no renting movies and watching them comfortably while resting and the chairs/couch were not comfortable enough to lounge in. Oh and renting movies 17.99 come on 17.99 to rent a darn movie. it says 4.99 and up well, it's more like up then down. The sheets were like sandpaper, clean but extremely rough. We went down to the swimming pool , well it was FREEZING. 67 degrees at best. Come on, heat the darm thing people are paying a lot of money a night Im sure you could afford to turn the heat up. I was Not impressed at all I will never stay there again nor will I tell anyone to there's another hotel right across the street which offers an extremely large buffet breakfast included in your stay. The overall condition of the hotel was great. The beds were so comfortable. What I did not like was the fact that the water and food on the table and in their refrigerator is on a sensor, so if you moved it (for any reason), they will bill you as if you consumed it. Gentleman who took our luggage after we checked out of the room mishandled our luggage and caused a large rip in my spouses leather brief case. We are still trying to work out the costs with the hotel.

This is an excellent hotel. Super location. Really nice staff! Well worth it.

Wonderfully comfortable beds and pillows! Great view as well. Enjoyable stay!

very good location for shopping on michigan avenue as well as state street and perfect for walks to navy pier and around the river. a very good location.

They routinely neglected to tell us about charges on the room. By the end of my stay I had been overcharged by $154, and they said I wouldn't get it back for 4 days, making it very difficult to fully enjoy the trip home.

The Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers provided an excellent experience. The quality of the hotel and its location are hard to match! I would definitely stay there again - Thumbs up!

Excellent hotel! Clean; in the heart of downtown Chicago; walking distance to stores --restaurants--and Navy Pier; affordable; friendly employees.

hotel was nice front desk people not so nice very rude. bell hop and luggage person nice. rooms very nice bed was comfortable.

It was my first stay in Chicago and I am extremely satisfied! Beautiful, great price, just overall a great place to stay!

I found the room to be very clean and exceedingly comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel as a very nice place to stay in downtown Chicago.

I really enjoyed staying at this location! It was close to both the Navy Pier AND The Magnificent Mile -- also, not to mention, the hotel backed up to a beautiful riverwalk with some spectacular views. The staff was helpful, the rooms were kept up well and the location was ideal. It really made the trip and I'd recommend it to everyone! =)

The front desk personal were willing to accomodate a late checkout request in order to care for our son with a medical conditon. Our only gripe was that the cleanliness was less than expected-half eaten yogurt containers in the mini fridge, dusty lamp shades etc.

pros: nice hotel, great location, clean, great view of the river and lake, pool area had great views as well. cons: the pool was cold and so were the hallways. half of the staff were great and the other half were grouches! if you need to find out info about surrounding areas u will have to do it yourself. also they charge for everything there even wifi. overall […] i guess i would book there again. This hotel was very clea, the employees were very polite and courteous. I enjoyed my stay here very much, can't beat the location. A short walk to navy pier and other Chicago attractions and restaurants. I recommend this hotel for anyone.
