The picture on the website was very deceiving and when we got there I was not impressed by the looks of the hotel. There were 2 rooms booked at the time of the reservation and when we got there the rooms were on separate sides of the building. The room smelled like people had been smoking in them and had a horrible smell. We had to have housekeeping […] come and spray which just covered the smell for a moment. I was at first hesitant at my choice because of possible freeway noice, no microwave or refrigerator in the room (but always excessible in the hotel lobby), no spa(but a pool) and double, not queen beds. I was quickly put at ease!!! From the Reception Desk, the Landscape/Mainenance personnel's presence, and Housekeeping Service! Extremely personable […] and obliging...from extra linens daily for our 4-day stay to finding a nearby park to bbq! Major shopping center and restaurants for all your needs within walking distance. The beds are so comfortable and the breakfast variety, perfect! I felt safe staying on the second floor and could see my parked vehicle. Polite staff, very clean rooms, simple but very adequate breakfast. Only complaint was shortage of towels for four in the room. Hole staff was happy to supply additional towels and shampoo at request.

The hotel was clean, and great for the price. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our only complaint would be that there were not enough electrical outlets to plug in our phones and c-pap machine.

The check-in was very fast. Friendly clerk. The room maintenance was poor. The sink in the bathroom would drain very slow. It obviously has not had their maintenance staff clean it out for some time. Very frustrating. If I hadn't already unpacked stuff, I would have changed room but because I was only there for one night, I just delt with it.

Friendly service at check in. Room was clean and comfortable. Pets are allowed at this motel. I was able to bring my blind springer spaniel with me on this trip. This was great because most places do not allow pets. The only negative, the night desk person was not very helpful with recommendations for restaurants. We were able to find plenty of good […] places to eat nearby though. Overall, a nice place to stay. Lees meer

I stay here often. It's a great little hotel

Would not stay here again, Carpet was filthy and blanket had makeup on it. Calling what they serve in the morning breakfast is stretching it. Choice of 3 cold cereals, a muffin or a white bread bagel was it.

The room had a filthy carpet that turned the soles of my feet black. I kept shoes on after discovering that problem. The room smelled of mold, which was probably coming from the dirty carpet. I would not stay there again. I would suggest you not stay there either.

It's a nice hotel, I have never had a problem there.

This is an old run down hotel with paint! Got to the room no towels. Waited nearly an hour till they sent the maintenance man with them. Couldn't get the AC working. Nice of them to tell me that it had to be plugged in first. Have never had to do that in all the years of staying in hotels/motels. Not even worth the low price that we paid!

The place is ready for Motel 6 to take over! The one good thing was the bed - very nice! Elec outlets sparked when you turned on the switch, the table was on it last legs, the hotel is hidden behind the IHop with no signage. Lots of trucks that leave early in the AM. Understandable, but noisy. The only thing that was not packaged for breakfast was the […] banana! This property was not even close to other LQs we have visited. Sell it quick!! Lees meer

The beds were way too soft so my wife and I where always sore in the morning. The maid service always failed to replenish bar soap and shampoo. there never seemed to be towels at the pool so you had to go to the office to get them or use your room towels which meant that you had to make sure they were dried by the time you took your next shower or else […] make the trek back to the office to get new ones. Usually enjoy staying at La Qunita for the clean room, decent service and healthy breakfast, but at this location the breakfast was much more spartan and somewhat disappointing. Lees meer

The room was clean and pleasant. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Good quality at a reasonable price if you are looking for a place to stay for a couple of days.

We were not impressed, the bathroom was dirty and we were only provided with two towels, no face cloths or hand towels we, went to Target to purchase them our selves. We ended up cutting our vacation short because we didn't want to stay any longer in this Hotel. The Hotel front desk staff was very kind and accommodating, but unfortunately didn't make […] up for the Hotel. The continental breakfast was all pre-packaged snacks. I made a reservation for a couple of my employees that were doing a job for me in Carlsbad. I booked a room for 3 nights, 4 days. The first night, my employees were not able to stay at the hotel. I notified the hotel immediatly. When my employees were on their way to the hotel to check in for the second night, I called the hotel to make sure everything […] was in good standing and they informed me that they cancelled my reservation due to a no show. I had to make another reservation, which was a total inconvenience and on top of that I was still going to get charged the first night for the first reservation. We stayed 2 nights for Comic Con 2011. It's about 45 minutes away from this hotel. The room we had was great. Very quiet and very clean but if you're unlucky enough to end up with a room closer to the freeway, it will get noisy. Great pool, lots of free parking and plenty of restaurants close by. Internet access was kinda slow but at least it was free. […] The breakfast was the usual banana, muffins, bagels and cereals with milk, coffee, orange juice and yogurt. I chose this location because it was far enough away from the military base that we didn't get the rowdy sailors and marines making loud noises on a Friday night like some other hotels had. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for a reasonable place to stay outside of San Diego, though it is kinda far. Lees meer

It is an older hotel, but our room was clean with what looked like new linens. It's a no-frills hotel, but we weren't looking for fancy, just clean and a place to sleep. Was disappointed regarding left clothing. Two shirts were accidently left in the closet. When we noticed it the next day, we called, but were told they could not be located. It was a good stay for the family. Its good for the money that you pay. I can't complain.

This property was exceptionally poorly maintained and staffed. It is not in a particularly good neighborhood, so the area was noisy and so were the clientele. This was the only place available in the area for the event we were attending, so pretty much stuck. Not staying here again. Otherwise, I think La Quinta's are generally good places to stay.

We always came back to a room cleaner than expected and when the sink backed up (problem with sink in room from other side), they went above and beyond to get us room located next door. We really didn't want to move from our location, but being only one room down wasn't a big deal...except to us. The only downside was our in-room coffee machine switch […] was broken, but by the time we awoke, the continental breakfast coffee was brewed. All in all, a great place to stay. Lees meer

I like this hotel, I stay here often. It is a nice quality hotel for a good price.

The service was great. The front desk person was nice and pleasant, and our room was decent.

This hotel was comfortable and a good deal for the price, although nothing special. We were initially given a room that had not been cleaned, including the messy used sheets on the beds, but the front desk righted the situation by finding us another room. We'd stay there again if in the Vista, CA area.

Close to Legoland and Carslbad beaches. Very nice area. 100 % recomended.

No conditioner or lotion provided, which definitely lowers the overall quality in my view. But the room was clean and comfortable, the pool was lovely (heated but not hot) and Vista has a great climate, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Great little hotel, I stay here often. I love it.

The hotel staff were kind enough to open the breakfast (very basic, and commensurate with what you pay) area early enough (6am) so we could energize up for the mud run. We thought it'd be easier staying around Camp Pendleton the night before the mud run than leaving LA at 4am to get to the base by the recommended time. Myself & a group of women were in town for a church conference this past weekend. The checkin process was great..the front desk attendant was very friendly & nice. She actually was able to get us a room next to one another. Upon entering the room, the STRONG ODOR of mildew & overwhelming cigarette smoke took over, as a non-smoker, this was a turnoff. […] There were men sitting in their cars in the hotel parking lot (looking very inconspicuous) to say the least, which really made us uneasy. So that night, I didn't sleep, because I was in fear of something happening throughout the night. The comforter was VERY dingy & dirty looking & the sheets were not clean looking, there was someones hair all in/on the shower & the floor. I think this hotel has great potential & it's NOT at all the staffs fault, THE OWNER needs to take better stock in their property, renovate & ensure a COMFORTABLE stay for their PAYING guest. This was a nice hotel! They had a heated swiming pool! Nice clean rooms and beds were confy! I stayed at the ramada the second night and paid $10 more, i was very dissapointed with the ramada. The La quinta had bigger rooms, fast internet and was in a nice location. Ive been to two la Quinta before and they are all real nice!!!! Will go to la quinta […] only from now on! Lees meer
