Marcella Royal Hotel in Rome

This is not a 4 star hotel. Our rooms were not ready when we checked in at 5:00pm. The next morning we were woken up by construction noise inside the hotel. The much aclaimed roof-top bar closed at 11:00pm although it was advertized as being open until midnight. The location of the hotel is good and the staff was very friendly.

We found all the amenities to be satisfying and more than adequate. The breakfast brunch was filling and eaten on the lovely rooftop. My only complaint is the shower, which had a small space to collect the water. Therefore, every time we showered, it left the floor wet. Otherwise, Rome is a great city to walk, walk, walk. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. The staff was helpful. Although the the room was not what we expected, it was very small and the bathroom was uncomfortable. When we looked out of our window we saw the back of three different hotels, again not what we expected or wanted. While I expect European hotels to be small, this one was exceptionlly small. there was barely enough room to walk around the bed to the bathroom. The carpet was very worn and seemed dirty. The bathroom was not cleaned well either. Unfortunately this hotel is not close to a metro stop or any of the things most visitors like to see. Our 25th Wedding Anniversary was enhanced by the stay at the hotel. The staff were attentive. The roof garden was idyllic!! Salvatore a superb host in the bar on the roof. Able to get to all the historic sites easily by walking or on the metro. Good location for train station arrival easy walk to hotel. Very Modern and Clean, a few restaurants near by, but you do feel a littleout of the action this far away from the sights and shopping, no shopping near by, and this is a long walk to spanish steps area and up hill walk back. Delux room was small but average […] for UK. very nice bathroom and shower, no english TV stations. 330 AM check out was no problem but be prepared for a city tax fee even though you prepaid for everything, and cabs are 50 euro to the airport at that time in the morning. The hotel is nice and clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. However, for American's they should know that the hotel is conscious of the single or double rooms. Single rooms are just that, very small with a single bed and very small bathroom. Also the walls were pretty thin and I could hear the couple next door coughing all night long making […] it hard to sleep. The rooftop restaurant and view were beautiful and really nice. Hotel was very clean and staff very friendly. Lovely rooftop restaurant for the buffet breakfast with veiws over rome and St.Peters in the distance. Rooms clean and tidy (bathroom a little on the small side). Surrounding area lovely and quiet and about 15mins walk from the spanish steps and surrouding area. 10mins walk from Termini station.

we had to move here from the Hotel Brasile which was awful. This is a pleasant hotel with good amenities and a lovely roof top restaurant. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. The staff were excellant. A very pleasant stay and i would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. I will certainly return!

Arrived late enough in the evening to the Marcella Royal and was happily welcomed in by the friendly receptionist. He knew who we were without asking and had everything prepared for us. This experience continued throughout our staff as all of the staff at the Marcella are first rate. Breakfast is excellent and the room top restaurant offers superb views […] across Rome. The only downside of our stay was that the room was quite small but still very comfortable. Wifi was available in the room for about €2 (We were supposed to only have access for an hour with this but we never had to top up). Overall I would give this hotel a 8.5 out of ten with only marks dropped for size of the room. The staff here made us feel very welcome, recommended some great places to eat, gave us complimentary umbrellas when it rained and kept us very happy. Would happily reccomend this to anyone. We loved the location. Our favorite restaurants were all in walking distance, whether pricey or not and fabulous food and wine. The hotel was great about giving recommendations with directions, once we were there. The only trouble we had was our directions upon arrival were a little unclear & brief, so we walked the wrong way for a while. Located in the Northern part of Rome, this hotel is a short walk to the Borghese Gallery and the Villa Borghese Gardens. The staff was helpful and polite. Some simple services such as providing postage was not available. The hotel was very clean.The bathroom was completely tiled with a good shower and was much larger than I expected. Staff at the hotel was very helpful with recommendations on shopping, where to dine and general directions. I was happy to learn they provided a laptop/printer use for a small fee. We checked out very early and the hotel had a driver waiting for us. Very nice.

An absolutely charming place to stay. We will recommend it without reservation to others! The only SMALL distraction was the multiple recycling dumpsters on the streets. Fint lille hotel med dejlig tagterrasse og venligt personale. Eneste punkt, der kunne være bedre, er rummenes størrelse (standardværelse).

Bra hotell. Med en bra frukost. Matställena det närmaste var ingen höjdare. Men var inte så långt att gå till den amerikanska ambassaden. Där låg det några riktigt bra resturanger. Men överlag ett riktigt bra hotell för prisklassen tyckte jag.

Nice hotel in a nice area. A very very good icecream bar just by the hotel, buses to Termini and Vatican runs often from XX Septembre. The roof terrace is a perfect place to start the day with breakfast and great view over the city. Service very good, pleasant people in the reception.

Hyggelig hotell med god service og hyggelig betjening. Fin frokost buffet i toppetasjen med utsikt over byen. Minuset for oss var beliggenheten . Det var et svært stille og lukket strøk uten butikker eller mennesker i gatene.Et stykke å gå til severdigheter inni byen.

　テルミニ駅からほどよく近いものの、重い荷物を持って行くには少し遠い。部屋も日本のシングルよりは広いが、それほど広くはないので、あまり快適とは言いがたい。しかし朝食はおいしいし、景色はすばらしい。

Negative aspekter: Plasseringen var for langt unna de viktigste severdigheter. Rommet var svært utdatert. Skittent teppe på gulvet. Hotellet er klassifisert som et 4 stjerners hotell, men holder ikke mer enn 3 stjerner. Positive aspekter: Takterrasse med utsikt. Rolig gate med flere restauranter og kaffebarer.

nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cet hotel, il est situé dans une petite rue calme tout proche de la gare termini et de la place républica, c'est un beau quartier, il y 2 restaurants corrects à 25 m dans la rue. nous avons fait la majorité des visites à pieds, les plus éloignées avec le métro dont 2 stations sont toutes proches. le personnel […] est très professionel, à chaque sollicitation il y avait un francophone à la réception. l'hotel est très bien tenu, très propre, nous avions une chambre standart et déjà très confortable, pas très grande mais suffisante, la salle de bain était parfaite. pour être complet, 2 petites critiques, la climatisation fonctionne en tout ou rien et le réglage était vraiment trop froid pour nous, mais la rue étant calme nous avons laissé la fenêtre ouverte sans problème, la seconde concerne le petit déjeuner, le buffet n'est pas celui d'un 4* français mais ce n'est pas l'essentiel, l'hotel bien qu'un peu surcoté est une bonne adresse où nous retournerons lors de notre prochain séjour à rome. Központi fekvésű, kellemes szálloda. Tiszta, rendezett, jól karbantartott szálloda és szobák, de a szoba elég kicsi. Inkább rövid tartózkodásra alkamas. A reggeli bőséges, széles választékkal, panorámás tetőteraszon. A közelben számos étterem. A belváros látnivalói 15-20 perces sétatávolásgra vannak. Jó választás.

Greit hotell, med grei beliggenhet, et kvarters gange fra Termini sentralstasjon og 20 minutter fra Spansketrappa og Trevifontenen. Rask og grei innsjekking, personalet snakket ok engelsk. Enkeltrommet var knøttlite, men inneholdt minibar, tv, skrivebord, safe og et klesskap. Hard seng, men stort sett grei nattesøvn fordi omgivelsene er relativt rolige. […] Lite trafikkert gate. Helt greit, flislagt bad, men trangt, særlig i dusjnisjen. Jeg fulgte oppfordringen om å henge håndkledene opp igjen for å spare på vasken, men de skiftet dem likevel. Renholdet virket bra. Hotell-pc-en i resepsjonen virket ikke da jeg skulle på nettet, og personalet fulgte ikke opp min henvendelse om billett til et arrangement i Roma. Ellers var det meste bra. Lees meer
