We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Prima locatie om van daaruit San Diego te ontdekken. Naar o.a. de Zoo, het Balbaopark en ophaaladres van huurauto gebracht en opgehaald met shuttledienst van het hotel, ideaal. Schone kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Redelijk ontbijt met plastic bordjes en bestek.

Het hotel ligt midden in het uitgaansgebied; veel restaurants in de omgeving en ook de winkelstraat is om de hoek. De bediening is gastvrij en zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is echter simpel, maar dat schijnt in Amerika normaal te zijn. Kortom: als je op zoek bent naar een centraal gelegen hotel met alle gewenste voorzieningen in de buurt en ruime kamers, dan ben je bij Gaslamp Plaza suites op het juiste adres!

Hip trendy. Wifi in hal beneden is gratis. Op kamer voor 24 uur vijftien dollar. Vind ik wel veel. Hotel is eigentijds. Drankjes aan de bar vrij prijzig. Hotel is Veel minder stijf en goedkoper dan het Hyatt. Wel werd er volop gebouwd en was dakterras niet open. Parkeren kan met valet parking (vijfendertig dollar per dag) of rondom hotel. Wel goed kijken of je goed staat ivm schoonmaken van de straat. Wij hadden boete van zestig dollar ivm neus van de auto de verkeerde kant op staan.

Ligging.
The Dana on Mission Bay ligt in Beach Cities in San Diego. dit hotel is een gezinsvriendelijke accommodatie in de buurt van Seaworld, Belmont Park en Mission Beach. In de buurt bevinden zich ook Ocean Beach Park en Mission Bay Park.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
The Dana on Mission Bay heeft een jachthaven, 2 buitenzwembaden, een spabad en een fitnesscentrum. In openbare ruimtes is een draadloze snelle internetverbinding gratis beschikbaar, terwijl de accommodatie over een werkstation beschikt. Dit hotel met met 3,5 sterren beschikt over zakelijke voorzieningen waaronder een vergader-/conferentieruimte en audiovisuele apparatuur. Dit hotel heeft 2 restaurants. Daarnaast is er ook een bar aan het zwembad en een bar/lounge.Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, hulp bij excursies/tickets en een huwelijksservice regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere meertalig personeel, een cadeaushop of kiosk en een wasserij. Gasten kunnen tegen betaling gebruikmaken van een shuttlebus van en naar het vliegveld op beperkt tijden, een shuttlebus van en naar de cruiseschipterminal en een ophaalservice bij het treinstation. The Dana on Mission Bay heeft 271 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van MP3-dockingstations en een waterkoker/koffiezetapparaat. Elke kamer heeft flatscreen televisies met kanalen via satelliet en betaalfilms. Elke accommodatie beschikt over een telefoon met voicemail. Een draadloze snelle internetverbinding is gratis beschikbaar. Alle bedden hebben driedubbele lakens en donsdekens. Elke kamer heeft een magnetron en een koelkast. Elke badkamer is voorzien van kamerjassen en make-up-/scheerspiegels. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een haardroger en een strijkplank/strijkijzer. Daarnaast zijn op verzoek voorzieningen beschikbaar zoals massagebehandelingen op de kamer en een telefonische wekdienst. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar. In The Dana on Mission Bay mag niet op de kamers worden gerookt.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag in rekening worden gebracht.

Bij warm weer is het enorm druk in het water bij Mission Beach en Pacific Beach, twee van de populairste stranden van San Diego. Op deze relaxte plekken worden af en toe boerenmarkten en kunstfestivals georganiseerd. Mission Boulevard verbindt de stranden met elkaar en loopt noordwaarts, richting La Jolla.

Ligt op loopafstand van Sea World (gaat ook een shuttle bus van het hotel). Oude, kleine en slecht onderhouden kamers. Kan in deze klasse betere hotels krijgen. Ligging, restaurant en zwembad wel prima.
"Een prachtig hotel"
Dit hotel is zijn prijs meer dan waard. We hadden het bed + breakfast package gekozen (je kon een ontbijt kiezen tot 15 USD per persoon). De kamer gaf uit op de baai en de kamer is extreem ruim en netjes. We hebben tweemaal dinner gedaan met roomservice en het eten was lekker naar Belgische normen! the staff was very helpful and freindly. the room was nice and the bed was so comfortable. we ate at the fire fly and the food and service were fantastic.. overall we had a great experience and will definatley return and recommend to others.

We have stayed here before and it is nice enough...except for the pool. The pool in the garden area is nice, but the pool by the harbor is incredible! Absolutely love swimming in it! We stayed here this time just so I could swim. The rooms are clean and comfy.

We had a good time. Stayed in Deluxe Marina View room - 600 block- over looking the bay and boats. The pool was warm ~ 90 degrees. Very close to Sea World. Room was updated and comfortable. We would return.

Loved the experience once again with the exception of two things: Asked to have the parking fee waived since we are repeat customers. Front desk said they would, but then charged our credit card anyway $18. Also, we could hear people in the room next to us, and I don't recall hearing anyone the last time. Other than that, it's a great resort. The pool […] and amenities are wonderful. You can walk to Sea World or take the shuttle instead of paying for parking over there. "Great hotel"
I'm from San Diego and this is a good hotel and especially for the price and location. We paid under a Ben Franklin for a deluxe marina view room. The view was great of the marina and the boats. The pool was warm and I'd say 90 degrees (no kidding!) so the kids and I spent hours swimming. It has to be the closest hotel to Sea World and pretty close […] to the beach and its on the bay. I could tell the rooms were recently updated also. Only con I would say is room size. It would be better to fit a table that can at least two chairs but not a big deal since I'm not there to sit in a hotel room all day. I would go again and be sure to get the marina view room. Nice Hotel and my room was fine. No frills, comfy bed and great shower!
Hotel is slightly run down, definitely not a resort type of room, more of a holiday inn.. rooms could use some updating for sure...very dark... but location is perfect
800 wing right next to all dumpsters so we woke up early every morning with the garbage trucks making too much noise. Front desk staff very nice and helpful providing dinner recommendations. Hotel a bit run down and getting facelift which added to morning noise near our room.
Chairs were a little uncomfortable - location was great - staff was excellent - will stay there again
"Walk to Sea World"
Very beautiful location. One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed! Hotel pool and spa are very nice and have a view of the water. Hotel staff is very professional and helpful. Planning on coming back very soon.

"Seaworld Vacation"
My family and I were going to Seaworld and needed to book a vacation so we decided to stay at the Dana. It is literally less than a 5 min drive to Seaworld! Very nearby. They have 2 pools which one is open until 11 pm! The property is very quiet dispite all of the people and roads nearby. Nice rooms kind of small but clean and nice quality. "More like a motel"
the rooms facing to the road feels more like a motel, ther is noice from the planes taking off and landing at the airport. Wifi and sathelite connection was very poor. The rooms very uncomfertably small and the carpet dirty and disgusting. We did not like it at all.
"JUST OK"
We were given a room in the back that had the poorest marina view. The girl that checked us in talked like she was a robot even when I asked her questions she then repeated herself all over again. the bathroom counter had an old piece of wood as a shelf that held the microwave and blow dryer (very tacky). The dresser drawers would open up all the way […] on there own becuase it was on an angle. I even put tissue there to hold it closed but that didn't work either. The outside flooring was buckled and torn and I am supprised noone has slipped and fell. I would not stay here again. I did see nicer buildings that were newer looking but the hotel overall I was not impressed and i travel a lot. Lees meer

You need to request one of the newer rooms overlooking the bay. They are nicer and each with their own balconies. The older ones are quite loud

liked the location of the hotel.. Rooms are very small in the older part of the hotel that has not been refurbished. Would like to stay in the newer area next visit. ps.. I have twins under 2yrs of age and the walls are paper thin, So.. every AM they were awakened by guests walking by or talking next door..

Loved the location, pools, quiet and had lovely grounds to walk/exercise ithe morning! Restaurants were great as well - close proximity to Mission Beach. would go back there anytime!
Very nice, especially for the rate. Staff was very friendly and point-on. Would not hesitate at all to return.

Our water view was not a view at all. Is a good hotel to walk around but was disapointed they did not have soy milk or milk subsitudes for breakfast. The resturant had couple good vegetarian dishes but is not enough. Staff are friendly. Breakfast needs more milk subsitudes.

The hotel location is fantastic - right across from Sea World and walking distance to beaches and restaurants, without being noisy or overcrowded. Staff were extremely helpful in recommending restaurants and even gave us cards to help us get in. All the restaurants they recommended were superb. was very loud and the construction going on there was not told to us. we slept poorly. on a good note though, the pool and hot tub were awesome and the marina view very nice
"The dana at mission bay"
The hotel was beautiful. We had a suite that overlooked the bay, pretty view..Anytime we called the front desk for anything they were very prompt and courteous. We used the pool and hot tub which were very clean. We will definitely be staying there again and have already recommended to others as well.

I enjoyed the hotel, as it offers a nice comfortable room for a decent price. It is close to SeaWorld, so expect families and children in the surrounding rooms to keep the noise level high. The restaurant provided great servers, and bartenders who know the area, and are very interested in ensuring your stay within the San Diego area, is all you would […] want it to be. Jason from their security team, assisted in a noise complaint, and was so helpful when he volunteered to assist me with the new room process, even carrying my bag and placing it in the new room upon my return from downtown. "It was ok"
The hotel was nice, but it could use some updating. I didn't like that all of the rooms had an outside entrance. And that there were homeless people sleeping on the property. However, the location was great and close to most everything that I wanted to do.
