Hotel Gouverneur Place Dupuis in Montréal

It was great. I loved the view. It suited our needs perfectly.

Room was good - a great value for the price! Just a few minor complaints - TV remote didn't work; a little noisy late at night (Saturday night; we were next to the elevator). Beds: very comfortable. Pillows, not so much (overly firm). Bathroom small but clean, bath/shower good, water pressure and temperature fine. Nice pool, adequate gym. Our stay was very pleasant. The staff was very helpful and all of the information we received was extremely accurate. We were able to walk to all of our planned events. Free on-site parking was very convenient even thought the parking garage was not the easiest to navigate. Some of the amenities of the room were dated and in a little rough shape such […] as the old TV and the stand containing the TV and refrigerator (which needed a good defrosting.) Good place to stay Pay a little bit more and upgrade the room. Mine was fine only because I was hardly there. My room 1618 = okay my friend's room 2508 = fantastic

the location is not bad, very near the subway station and walking distance to the university and a nice walk to the city center. reasonable price and the room is clean, even though it definitely needs renovation. highly recommended for those who don't expect ritz or four season type ambience and service.

I always love this hotel but I was disappointed when I didnt get the bathroom that was shown online. When I approached the front desk about the bathroom situation, they told me that the post their best looking bathroom online but that does not guarantee that one will get that bathroom. we booked a non smoking room and the first night everything was fine. Nice room, no problems. At the end of the second day, we returned to our room to find that it smelled as though someone had been in the room smoking. It was explained to us that the smoke from the smoking room beneath our room seeps up through the ventilation. This was my first time in Montreal and I definitely would go back. The hotel Place Dupuis was pleasant. All of the staff met my expectations and then some. Not only were they friendly, but they were more than willing to assist with an issues or questions that I may have had. I would definitely recommend them and would be willing to stay there again. […] The room service was excellent and the food was tasty. Overall, for my first time in Montreal...I can't complain. We only stayed overnight and this hotel provided everything we needed. The staff are excellent. They are friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

The hotel was fine but would have appreciated to have a whirlpool (hot tub) as the swimming pool was a bit cold. Further we had to wait 20 minutes for the room. We arrived at 3:15 PM and the room was not yet ready. Even if we took a double bed classic room, we would have appreciated to have a mini refrigerator in the room. Beds are too soft and does not look even close to the site pics. Shower did not drain and forget going outside at night as there are some shady people on the street.

We've stayed here before since it's near our son's home and we will be glad to stay here each time we go to Montreal. The rooms are sufficient in size and everything was clean and well-kept. The buffet breakfast was fine. Pool area was well-kept but water was very cool. I definitely think we got plenty of value for our money.

The Hotel Gouverneur Place Dupuis is in a great location, connected to the Berri-UQAM subway station and walking distance to the center city and all of the attractions in the village along St. Catherine Est. Terrible hotel, the pics on hotels.com do not match what you see in the hotel. The pics are for the premium rm which for the price is not that great. There are better hotels for similar price in the area. Though location is really great at this hotel.

We only stayed one night while passing through, but I was very impressed with this hotel. I was expecting much less for the price. Courteous bilingual staff, excellent location, and a very clean and comfortable room. We had a great view of the skyline from the 19th floor. A member of housekeeping knocked on our door around 6 pm and asked if we needed […] more coffee or tea. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and found the food to be very good. Also, I was pleased to discover they provide neutrogena brand toiletries in your hotel bathroom, this was a welcome surprise as I have sensitive skin and had forgotten my usual soap and shampoo. Very close to downtown Montreal and the Latin/Village district...the hotel is great, but the pool was closed. The room was a bit dated, however my friend's room was very modern. Clean, friendly service. Not the friendliest of employees though...

The only room available was a smoking room and there was a horrible smell. By the end of the first night, even clothes in the drawers smelled like second-hand smoke. We had to ask the front desk to bring an ozone machine to the room and turn it on three times before the smoke smell was gone. The hotel is excellently located near a major subway interchange, and in between the gay and university districts of Montreal. Our room was well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. Staff was friendly and provided 3-star service commensurate with the hotel's rating. Breakfast options are provided and well-priced. Four of us stayed here for 3 nights. The location was awesome! On the edge of the village, close to the latin quarter, and an easy jaunt on public transport to get to Mont Royal's fab restaurants. The room with 2 double beds was clean and had all the expected amenities. A bit small for 4 people, but, hey, that's ok! We were expecting that. Also, the […] pool was sizable, but the fitness center was fairly minimal. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in a clean, simple hotel with a great location. Lees meer

Very good cost/benefits ratio. Very close to subway, intercity bus terminals and restaurants. Clean floors, blankets and towels. TV and appliances in good working conditions. Wake-up call on time. Nice view on the city from tenth floor and there 30 floors altogether.

This hotel is situated in Montreal's Latin Quarter, so, after dark, the streeet scene is not the safest. You are also far from down town, so no advantage there. We were not impressed with the hotel. The phone in the bathroom switched to dial tone each morning at 1:20m am and forced us to wake up and turn it off. When we complained, there was no price […] reduction or effort to care. My husband and I stayed there for one night. Great location, very friendly staff. We wanted to be re-located to a higher floor and there was no problem. The washrooms are dated but that's it. The bed's are very comfotable. Overall we would recommend this hotel and would return.

Defective bedside lamp, no face cloths, very, very slow bath drain. Deficient lighting in the room. Not a pleasant stay. Should have stayed elsewhere. Survey not provided in my language - French.

The Hotel Gouverneur was clearly a very grandiose place at one time but it is an older hotel and as such needs some renos at this point. For example, the toilet in my room didn't flush properly if you didn't hold the handle down for 5-10 seconds, the tiles around the bathtub were in need of a good scrubbing, the sink had a chip in it, the taps needed […] new washers and the plugs were loose. In the bedroom, the desklamp was battered-looking and the chairs had seen better days. The TV channels were sub-par and frustrating to use. However, the place was clean, except for the the tiles around the tub, the room-service breakfast was great, the staff was great and the attached shopping centre was also great. I had a good experience and felt that I got good value for the money for sure. The bed and bedding was also very nice and seemed new. Lees meer

The clerk at the reception was very inexperienced and there was no one there to help her. The hotel restaurant was very good and prices were reasonable. Indoor access to food court, stores and grocery shopping. Short taxi trip to train station and walking distance to major downtown shopping.

Well placed adjacent to metro stop, easy to get where you want to go. Room was small, dated and next to the elevator which was very noisy ALL night long. Parking not included but was reasonably priced Staff was pleasant and helpful but still would look at other options before I stayed there again

The Hotel Gouverneur Place Dupuis is centrally located to enjoy all Montreal has to offer. The Metro station is right there with access to 3 lines. Saint Catherine Street is right out the door but my room in the hotel was surprisingly quiet.

It was quiet but rooms were dirty but no bed bugs so that's a plus. Amazing view of the city and super fast elevator. Grocery store connected to building. Old everything and in need of an update. Greesy headboards. Stained carpets Old t.v. with poor image quality and not many channels. Sink outside of the washroom. Air intake vent full of dust. Washroom […] vent the same. A little mold in washroom near corners in ceiling Small washroom. Ice not on every floor. Kinda Scary Neighborhood Expensive parking in very tight garage. We didn't spend much time in the room. Hotel was very clean and the staff was so friendly. Location is great with plenty of restaurants in the area. First time in Canada and will return.

Metro station hub 1/2 block away. 3 blocks to all the great shops/restaurants on St Denis. Shopping connected to the hotel (great grocery). Very helpful hotel staff. Decor is a bit dated, but the room was clean.

The hotel is average. We had one meal at the hotel restaurant which was OK. Underground parking was a great plus!

I was very pleased with my stay. The personel was very nice. The room was a little bit outdated. The electrical outlet wasn't working. The mini bar needed a defrost. The mattress was not comfortable. Other than that, it was very clean and we had a beautiful view. If you have little kids sharing the room, make sure the breakfast is also included for […] the kids. We stayed here for 2 nights and undoubtedly the location is awesome, right next to St Catherines Street and whole set of shopping. The hotel bathrooms are a little outdated, again if you dont care this is a great location to stay in Montreal, also the hotel staff are extremely courteous.

What I appriciated the most was the receptionist speaking more than two languages.

Stayed over in Montreal for a concert. Very convenient to everything, close to the bus station. High end hotel at respectable price

We choose this hotel yearly as it gives us the best location for Diverse Cite' celebrations. As usual the hotel provides excellent service in a friendly manner at fare price. We thoroughly enjoy the buffet breakfast to get our day started. The hotel is attached to a medium sized mall which has all the amenities for a short stay. I have not tried the […] swimming pool yet but I am looking forward to that on our next visit.
