Fantastisch hotel en toch betaalbaar vanwege de aanbieding. Alle service op aanvraag aanwezig. Fancy hotelkamers met tv's, muziekset, beamer+bose321 systeem, trendy inrichting en luxe badkamer. De magnificant mile en de loop liggen om de hoek.

The James in Chicago is een fijn hotel, mooi decor, goede locatie. De staf is echt behulpzaam en doet er alles aan jouw verblijf zo goed mogelijk te maken. Wij boekten een kamer voor 4 personen, 2 volw + 2 teens. De bedden bleken echter te smal te zij om met 2 personen comfortabel te kunnen slapen. Het ging veeleer om "twijfelaars" dan om king-of queen […] size bedden. Maar naast dit (serieus) ongemak valt er weinig af te dingen op de kwaliteit vh hotel. My wife and I stayed at tis hotel for three nights. The concierge and doormen are excellent personnel. What was the problem? The second night there was a party in our adjacent room. The noise was unbearable. My wife called twice to the lobby; however, they did nothing. At around 2 or 3 in the morning I called the lobby extremely angry and the excuse […] was the personnel didn't hear the noise outside the door, but knocked at the door and told the party to vacate the room. We had almost no sleep at all. Next day I went to complain to the manager and even told her my wife was pregnant. Plus this is a +4 star hotel. Her answer was unbelievable and uncomprehending telling me she would send a cookie to the room. Again, hotel is well located. Price is not cheap, but not overpriced. But one can argue there is much more to expect from a luxury hotel. Lees meer

The James was a great place and at a good price for downtown Chicago. High quality amenities and excellent staff. The only complaint would be a slow service for breakfast but the rest of the stay was excellent.

I had been several times in Chicago, and I have to say that this isone of the best hotels I have stayed. It's located in a great zone, you can walk to everywhere (lake, michigan avenue, etc). The team are fresh, kind and really oriented to service from the security people (Erick), the cleaning lady, the staff, etc. The James is really excellent in service, […] the rooms are clean, functional and "warm". This is my second time staying at the James Chicago. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. Great location right off of the "Magnificent Mile". Also very conveniently located across the street from a Trader Joe's.

The hotel is in a great location. however, the hotel needs a make over. The internet service is almost non-existent, even in the lobby. Our room had thread-bare carpet and the seams of the carpet were coming apart. One night there was a person playing the saxophone on the street close to mid night. I called the front desk to see if anything could be […] done and was told by the person on duty that they could call the police but it really wouldn't help, that we should just wait and he will eventually stop. Hotel Staff was really attentive. Lobby room were nice and clean. The gym was great, not what I expect in a hotel. I will stay here again

Hotel needs to be remodeled. The room we had had the carpet separating at the seems, and was threadbare. The mattress was very soft and lumpy. The internet service was almost nonexistent with spotty service in the room and extremely slow service in the lobby. When the staff was asked why so slow they did not have an answer. One of the nights during […] our stay a person was playing a saxophone outside the building near midnight. I called the front desk and asked if something could be done to stop the music. The front desk staff told me that they could call the police but probably would not help and I just needed to wait until he decided to stop playing. You will not get a better location than this hotel. Rooms are nice but nothing has been done to make them particularly cozy. The bed was great. Bath products were terrible so remember to bring your own shampoo etc. The front desk was very sweet and helpfull. Our safe broke and we asked for it to be fixed twice without any success. We were given a late […] check out without having to pay extra. The restaurant was not good so we went other places for breakfast and dinner. Wonderful hotel. Big nice rooms. Really great fitness center. Can't beat the location. Needs more elevator capacity but that's a quibble. Staff are really friendly and effective.

The James was in a great location.and has nice rooms. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The steak house was a disappointment.

I love The James. Clean, crisp white, well-laid out rooms. Also the lobby bar area is inviting and comfortable. As a frequent guest at the hotel I have one complaint. The room service menu is not great. It includes a lot of heavy food and few light, smaller options. However, the biggest problem is that it has been UNCHANGED in over a year. Same old […] choices. Last summer, I was so tired of the menu that I actually moved hotels just to try a different menu. Big loss. It wouldn't be hard for them to refresh the selection. Lees meer

I often stay at the James Chicago because of the excellent location, service, and amenities. However, the rooms, while clean and well designed, could use with some updates in terms of furniture and TV.

The rooms at The James are a bit on the small side, with awkward layouts, but the styling and comfortable bed more than make up for those minor shortcomings. The in-room bar was well stocked, but didn't have a price list. The king size bed was the best I've slept on, and the minimal design of the sleeping area made for great relaxation. Bathrobes and […] slippers were a great touch. We also ordered room service from David Burke's Primehouse located within the hotel. Service was suprisingly quick at just about 30 minutes. I must definitely eat steak in my underwear in the comfort of my own room again in the future. Front desk staff was efficient; not warm and friendly but not outright rude either. Housekeeping and the Guest Request team were delightful though. The biggest negative was the cost of valet parking at $52/day! Though after researching the area it's something that can't be avoided. The James Hotel in Chicago is in a great location. The staff was really friendly and very helpful. Concierge made terrific recommendations. Looking forward visiting again.

everything is always done very well here and the hotel is in great shape. the food in the restaurant and room service is outstanding. nothing new just done very well. i feel like i'm getting more than my money's worth when i stay here.

If you like zen-like simplicity with smart design, and extraordinary attention to your comfort and convenience, this is the hotel in Chicago downtown for you. Very attentive and helpful staff, quiet rooms, prompt response, and obviously carefully selected and trained staff that like people and supporting them. Very satisfied!

Service & Staff were oustanding!! Great location...rooms have nice amenities but need to be updated. Overall we were very satisfied and would recommend.

For the price, this was perfect. I really cannot think of anything bad to say about this place, I loved staying there and would hope to stay again. Unless you want perfect and are willing to pay a very high price, this is a great place.

Third time here, great location and what really makes it is the fantastic attitude of the staff from door men to duty managers. I felt really welcomed and looked after there and have already booked a return visit. I would highly recommend whether you are travelling for business or pleasure.

If you like a contemporary look and feel, The James would be okay for you. Our TV had a line through it (minor detail, but annoying). We also did not have our water carafe refilled after the first day. The concierge was very nice and accommondating. We were under the assumption that you could self-park in the hotel's garage as well, and this was not […] the case. Overall not good, not bad. Guessing there are nicer and more interesting places to stay in DM Chicago. Lees meer

The James was a great hotel from the service, atmosphere, location, cleanliness and finally the price! They have a fun lobby bar and seating that is a great way to start and end your evening. We walked everywhere and would stay at the hotel again. 5 star hotel at a 4 star price.

I had a business trip in Chicago and stayed for 4 nights in February and had a marvelous stay here. The service is fabulous - friendly and would highly recommend for business or pleasure.

Everything in the hotel was gorgeous, loved my room, friendly staff, amazingly convenient location, restaurant was fabulous, can't say enough good things. I never remember hotels, I stay all over the place and travel often for work, but this is one I will actually make a note of and remember when I'm back in Chicago.

2 blocks from Michigan Ave, a Trader Joes & Starbucks across the street - what else can you ask for?
