The Cliffs in Pismo Beach

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The only negative point is the very noisy air-conditioning unit on the 5th floor. The management should do something about this as this is really annoying.

We thought we had arrived in paradise when we checked in. Absolutely gorgeous place... staff were so friendly and helpful. It's a pity we had rain the whole time and didn't get to enjoy the gorgeous pool

Beautiful setting overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Great massage from the Spa as well.

A private experience of the Central Coast is exactly what I needed. I chose to leave the crowds of the Pismo pier and beach and find recluse and solitude at the Cliffs. Our dog was welcomed by all guests at the hotel as well as staff. After the valet brought up our car, he took both our luggage and puppy up to the room where he set up the dog bed, filled […] him and dish of water and another with food, The next door restaurant was filled with wonderful foods, especially brunch! My only "complaint" is the bathroom. Placing the toilet paper under the sink too far away from the toilet was a bad design. Lees meer

Very nice hotel centrally located between pismo beach and Avala beach. A dog friendly hotel just let them know. A $55 dollar cleaning charge and your set. Easy access to to dog walking area from your room. Will deffinatly visit again with or without our four legged family member.

Just made a quick overnight stop by myself. Hotel was convenient, easy to find and check in. Valet parking which was nice after a long drive. Felt safe and room was comfortable and clean. Would stay here again.

BEST resort hotel on the beach, near Pismo Beach, San Luis Osbipo, and Mc Lincock's steak house. We visit our daughter in San Deigo and always look foward to a visit to the Cliffs and this great central coast area.

Great room and beautiful view! The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious.The staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant had an excellent Sunday brunch. My husband and I will definitely return.

We stayed at the Cliffs over the presidents weekend in February and loved the hotel. The location and grounds were beautiful with a walkway along the cliffs. The hotel and neighborhood was very upscale and it was very conveniently located near town and freeway but with no road noise from our room to affect the tranquility. Terrible beds - my wife and I were unable to sleep at all! TV was not working and we called a couple of times to have it fixed and then just gave up! We will never stay at the Cliffs again!

booked this hotels cuz it was pet friendly,checked into room on the 3rd floor very nice,30min later were told we would have to move to the 1st floor because of our dog,thats fine,room on the 1st floor was aweful next to the electrical rm,no carpet,sliding glass door did not lock,rm was on a walk path with the view of nothing but over grown bushes and […] trees,not to mention at check out we were charged an extra 55.oo for pet fee, Lees meer

The room was excellent, clean, comfy with a fire place. We enjoyed the hot tub and the surrounding and enjoyed a breakfast buffett the next morining for free. We would definately stay there again.

THIS HOTEL HAS AN INCREDIBLE VIEW AND THE ROOM WAS VERY WELL APPOINTED. WE ENJOYED THE RESTAURANT AND THE BEAUTIFUL SUNSET.

late evening and starting at 6 am the hallways were slamming with doors and people talking and unable to sleep through...horrible acoustics...no sleep equals unhappy people...

My wife and I travel a good deal and during the last year have stayed at top flight hotels in New Zealand, Peru, Chile, LA, Las Vegas and NYC. We stayed six nights at The Cliffs and consider our time there the best hotel experience we have ever had. The Cliffs is an excellent property and obviously has first class management. The only hiccup was that […] Hotels.Com did not communicate that we were traveling with our dog...the hotel made it right by giving us a great room anyway, but there should be better communication by the booking firm to avoid problems in the future. Unfortunately, during my 4 night stay, the ice machine on the 5th floor where I stayed did not work and so I had to go to the 3rd floor. The 4th floor also was out of ice. Only a slight inconvenience however and the hotel itself was very nice overall.

We had a great time , there was alittle confusion on our reservation due to boking on hotels .com had to change rooms , other than that it was great.

The hotel was very nice. The moise fro the constant running fall around pool was iratating, the bar got very noisey. Even with windows closed the constant sound of pool , I did not like, Also I do not enjoy dining with dogs, and that has become an issue.

The hotel was great, except the pillows were as hard as rocks.

We stayed here in Aug, 2011 and it is beautiful location, right on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The hotel itself very nicely decorated and clean. We ate on the restaurant deck both nights we were there. The view was fantastic, the food was good and the prices were reasonable. It's an older hotel and the walls area bit thin. Our stay at The Cliffs was enjoyable and fun... The 1st night we stayed in a King Ocean/Pool view room and although is was very comfortable, I did not like the lack of privacy on the balcony.... The 2nd night, we upgraded to the Lighthouse Suite and had a fabulous time... Excellent views, complete privacy, jetted tub and tastfully decorated and VIP […] like amenities throughout. For the "exclusiveness" of the area, I expected more. This is just an overpriced family hotel. Too many dogs with inconsiderate owners...leaving your dog outside the restaurant to bark for over an hour at 7 am is rude. The doors always slammed. The quaint courtyard actually amplified the noisey tennants and even though it is billed as no smoking, there […] are ashtrays in the courtyard. The room was billed as pool/ocean view. If you sat at the farthest left corner of your balcony you could see about 6 feet of distant water. Partial ocean view would have been an over-exaggeration. I am a person that stays at the cliffs through my job alot along with coming with friends, I was just there the wednesday prior with my work. I have always had a very nice room and have not had to deal with alot of noise. This time, I was on the very bottom floor , no carpet, alot of noise from children and of carts and glasses. This hotel exceeded our expectations, even thou it is located in san Luis Obispo which is not a nice town. It is well located to spend a night while on the road, not to spend more than one day there!! The restaurant is very bad, there is a hotel just by the Cliff with a very nice restaurant.

Nice and welcoming atmosphere, clean and nice rooms, food in restaurant below avarage. customer service below avarage i.e the thermostat in my room broke down and I woke up 3 am with 81 F, called front desk but there was nothing they could do apperantly very disappointed

Take this review with a grain of salt, because I stayed at the cliffs with my boyfriend and we have fun wherever we go. That said, we LOVED The Cliffs. Get a room with an ocean view! It was absolutely worth it. It's the most beautiful setting, and you can climb down some side stairs and end up on the beach. We actually ran into a couple on the beach […] who had just gotten engaged, which makes sense - this is a positively romantic location. It's definitely on the pricey end, but worth it if you want to have a romantic and luxurious time. I was surprised at the number of kids, but the hotel had a kids' club so perhaps the parents dropped them off and then enjoyed the trip together ;) The pool was beautiful although we didn't get a chance to try it out. Oh, and the towels were fabulously soft and absorbent. Summary: we plan to come here again, as soon as we replenish our wallets! Final tip: try "Old West Cinnamon Rolls" (can't remember if it was in San Luis Obispo or Pismo). Looks kind of insignificant on the outside of the store, but the cinnamon rolls are worth trading your firstborn child for. Lees meer

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cliffs. Great restaurant. Dog-friendly. Only criticism--could use better bedside lighting for reading. Otherwise, flawless.

We had a room overlooking the pool with a view of the ocean, which was nice. It appears the hotel has undergone a renovation in recent years, so the interior is quite nice. The only issue we had was the lack of soundproofing. There were families staying in the hotel with loud children running and screaming through the hallways at night and splashing […] around in the pool well past 10:30 pm, and the noise hardly seemed muffled at all. The resort and its views of the ocean are stunning. The staff is very friendly and accomodation. The room was very clean and nice but the bed was a bit lumpy and not as I would have expected for a 4 star hotel. There is a small mom and pop mexican restraunt down thje street, south of the resort called Zorros, best mexican food I have EVER had!!!!!
