Hotel Victoria in Toronto

Hotel is in a pretty central downtown location, and the wi-fi is nice if you need to stay in touch. Bathroom is clean, although a little small. Possibly good for touristing, not so good for business. Which brings me to my next point -- the room is tiny in general. The bed took up most of the room, which is not so bad if you are just one person, but […] I can't imagine staying here if you are more than one (or two small people) and actually spending time in the room. The room had two windows, but they both faced walls, so there was very little natural light in there. Additionally, climate control was pretty ancient. The radiators are old which makes the air EXTREMELY dry and difficult to sleep. The room very quickly gets cold when its turned off. Another gripe, which is if you plan to use a car in Toronto, is that there is no on-site parking and the location of the hotel is not most convenient for driving around. If you plan to do some driving around the area, do not stay there. Overall a mediocre experience. I might consider staying here for sightseeing, but definitely not if I need a good night's sleep. Great place to stay. Staff at front desk were very friendly and helpful. Given and maps and directions for cheaper parking within reasonable walking distance. Brief walk to lots of local eateries and the Eaton Center. reasonable rates as well as an updated, modern rooms. I would stay again!

Location is great! We probably stayed in the smallest room, so keep that in mind with this review. Our room was on the second floor and faced the street. VERY noisy. Thankfully we did have an airconditioner that was VERY loud itself - actually helped us sleep. It got very cool in the room, so that was a plus as well. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. […] The wallpaper is peeling everywhere in the bathroom - completely torn in other places. The restaurant was very good for breakfast although a tad pricey. Everything was great except that the shower faucet was brokenébreaking and the air conditioner was very, very loud till it was somewhat repaired. Otherwise, everything was great and staff courteous.

Great location. Very nice room. Nice Staff. Will stay there again.

Highly recommend this hotel! Very clean. Easily accessible to all Yonge St attractions. Great restaurant located on site. Rooms very clean/modern decor. Parking is off-site, a bit apprehensive about this feature, however it wasn't that bad.

Close, easy to get around town. Clean modern rooms.

This hotel is very nicely furnished throughout. Our first room, however, was located on a light well and was quite dark. In fact, only two rooms per floor (out of 6 or so) face the street. The staff was quite cooperative in moving us to a street-side room after the first night. This resulted in a very enjoyable stay.

The main plus of this hotel is its location, in downtowon Toronto for a great rate. The room was a litlle bit smaller than I expected, but nevertheless clean, and comfortable. This hotel is ideal if you come to Toronto for shopping or going to theatre. Only disadvantage is that they don't have parking garage in the hotel, but they gave us a great recommendation […] for a nearby parking lot at a great rate. Lees meer

The room is basically clean and well-organized. But bathing materials are not changed new everyday. Bed mattress is super soft, unbearable. I just sleep on the floor instead of in bed. Quiet, good temperature, but easy to get noice from out of door, though I don't very much care. Not bright, space is also limited, not good for lots of luggages. Charge […] for local phones. Hotel Victoria looked beautiful on the surface but was a little dirty on closer inspection. The room wasn't grosse by any means but the duvet was not covered by a duvet cover and had stains on it. The sheer blinds also had marks on it which was a little grosse. The location of the hotel was also slightly more of a pain than I had hoped. We usually prefer […] to shop around Kensington Market/Chinatown area and the walk south if we feel like it instead of walking up every day. If you like the south side of the city however, and sort of in the middle of queen and the water then its fine. Over all it wasn't a bad hotel, just not what we were hoping for. Lees meer

A great Hotel in a great location. Very modern rooms and extremely helpful staff.

Beautiful hotel, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the level of customer service was iffy. I'm not upset that we stayed here, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Only spent one night here,but its location allowedd us to see several key aspects of Toronto

Great location on Yonge street near Hockey hall of fame. The room was very small but tidy and fresh. Parking, however, is tricky. There is parking lots nearby but very expensive. We found cheap parking a 30 minute walk from the hotel by using "Toronto Parking" app for Android.

really comfortable beds and helpful concierges! Close to the subway which was good. No washing machines - you either have to dryclean your clothes, or walk a long way to find a coin operated laundromat

Stay here every time I come to Toronto. Recent renovation is a great upgrade.

I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling for either business or pleasure. Excellent value and upscale decor.

We loved everything about this hotel! We stayed in a deluxe king room and it was fantastic. Normally when staying in a hotel, we can't wait to get home to our own bed, but not this time ... so comfy! The service was great and the room was clean. As for location, we were within walking distance to pretty much everything that we wanted, and there's a […] subway station right around the corner for those trips that are a little further out. The hotel staff was helpful in giving directions for the subway, bus & trolley systems (this was our first time in Toronto) - it was all super easy and super convenient. This hotel was nice and clean---and the location was great. The downside of staying here is that the front desk is clueless about the surrounding area. We a had an oversized vehicle and therefore could not park in a garage we needed a surface lot- we called ahead to find out how we should proceed- we were told that they would direct us to a nearby surface […] lot and the charge would be the same as the garage. This was inacurrate. We also needed some laundry (we had been travelling for 2 weeks)--this hotel has no way (wither through send out or in house) of getting laundry done, they tried to send me to a nearby laundry service- it turned out to only be a dry cleaners- no other services available. The front desk had mutliple employees who were difficult to understand. The room was fine and quite large for a city hotel, it is centrally located so very convenient for tourist. Make sure you know exactly were you are going and don't need any help from the front desk. Lees meer

You can't beat the location - right near the subway, trolleys, and within walking distance to many sites. The hotel was nice enough, no complaints with my room. Beware if you're a verizon cell phone user, there is no coverage except for in the hotel lobby. The hotel staff told me this was normal for verizon users. I couldn't use my phone in my room. The […] hotel internet service also went out. After being patient for a day of no phone and no internet, I couldn't take any more. The hotel was nice enough to let me check out that evening and try to find another hotel so that I could have internet access. Actually, they found a hotel for me nearby at a good rate. The other hotel was pretty uncomfortable, so all -in-all it was an annoying experience. But the Hotel Victoria staff did all they could. Hotel was very nice, very clean. The room was small, it was basically a bed, tv, and bathroom but it was all we needed. Perfect if your staying a night or two and are just using your room for sleeping, changing, etc.

The staff was professional, friendly and extremely efficient. Not only were they responsive to my requests, but I also observed them being of assistance to numerous guests. The hotel is reminiscent of a boutique hotel one might expect to find on Ille St. Louis in downtown Paris. WOuld gladly stay there on subsequent visits.

The hotel and rooms were very cute. Cozy and in a great location. Very comfortable beds, but the room was lacking a mirror (other than a small one in the bathroom). Overall this was a great hotel, thoroughly enjoyed my stay

Generally fine. Lobby computer very slow and didn't work at all with various websites, including the one for my email. Shower doors allow a lot of water out. Wallpaper under the shower door was peeling as a result.

Checked in to the Hotel Victoria yesterday. We made a reservation for a queen bed. However, we were given a very small room with at most a full size bed. When calling down to the desk we were informed that all rooms have either twin, queen or king beds. At one point, Peter the hotel manager, said it was a "euro queen". So far, when compared to the boutique […] Chezz Swann in Montreal, the Hotel Victoria pails in comparison across the board, from customer service to shoddy upkeep of the common areas. My recommendation would be that you stay elsewhere in Toronto. Lees meer

My friend and booked this stay on hotels.com and although the rooms were very small and cluttered with too much Ikea stuff, it was centrally located and we could leave our car. Thus we elected to stay another night at full rate although it was beyond our budget. Upon checking out the following day, we were informed that we had incurred a "smoking fee" […] charge for smoking in our room the previous evening. The evidence for this accusation was an empty pack of cigarettes left by my friend in the trash when she cleaned out her bag. As I don't smoke, she does not smoke around me at all. Nonetheless, although work crews were in and out of the rooms and hotel, we were told the charge was valid and would not be reversed despite our protestations. As graduate students we could hardly afford such a fee and the staff were aware of this previously so assuming we would risk doing such a thing was ridiculous. It should be noted that we were not told of this charge when booking the second night, although this supposedly occurred the first night of our stay. We were treated so rudely when trying to protest that work crews were in and out during the whole stay and if there was such an incident is was more likely them as we would not chance such a charge for a ridiculous thing. We were treated rudely and our money taken with no thank you. As a result I cannot recommend anyone staying here. Lees meer

Perfect location for all downtown attractions and located steps from street cars and subways. Small, but nice rooms are comfortable—especially the bed—and affordable. Desk staff and housekeeping were nice and helpful. If you're in Toronto to see the city, this hotel puts you right in the heart of the city for a good price.

Great location on Yonge St. Only minutes walk from shopping and theatre. Very nice quaint hotel.We had room with 2 queen beds....plenty of room for us and 2 kids. Beds oh so comfy!!!! Will definitely stay there next time in TO.

good hotel in great location

The only thing I would have to say bad was that the television didn't work, we had to get an employee to fix it for us at night and we wanted to use in the morning but it was too much of a hassle to get them to come fix it again.Other than that it was in a great location, a decent walk to the Rogers centre, but a quick walk to the Air Canada Centre […] and Union Station. We didn't need a lot of room in our room but they were kind of small, however the bed was incredibly comfortable. Lees meer

Generally nice stay for the price but the lift was a bummer as it takes forever almost 75-80% of the time (doesnt help when you cant see the progress of which storey the lift is at). would suggest u to request for a low floor like 3rd or something.

Good hotel in great downtown location. Easy access from airport shuttle and within walking distance from every attraction in Toronto. Lots of nearby undreground restaurants and shopping if weather is bad. Only problem is rooms at the back suffer from lots of noisy air conditioning plants on adjoining roofs so don't anticipate a good night sleep,

I loved staying here. The room was so clean and also beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. I would highly recommend it.

My room was such a welcome retreat after a long haul flight. I had requested a quiet room and got one, thank you. The bed was very comfy, but all four pillows were too big perhaps I could have asked for smaller ones but would be nice if there was a choice in the room already. Bath and shower were fantastic which as we know is so important. Free internet […] in foyer for those who travel without laptops was a great bonus! Lees meer

Very pretty and modern room. Awesome walking location to Eaton center and Air Canada Center. Also recommend the little restaurant attached to eat for breakfast or lunch. Great spot. Will defenitly return.
