"comfortable and worry-free for my family"
We have stayed here several times. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to Six Flags and St Louis sites, but far enough away that traffic is light. Staff always provides for our special needs (wife has a bum knee and can't do stairs). Only problem was that vending machines didn't work. My stay at the doubletree was great! I just didn't expect to have so much trouble having a mistake corrected. There was not a problem with the charges being placed on my credit card but taking them off is an entirely different story. "Excellent"
The beds were very comfortable! That is something everyone in my party agreed on. The breakfast was great. Loved the biscuits and gravy. Room was very clean and the sheets were very soft. "Fine if just passing through"
The person at the front desk was pleasant and helpful, which overcame the initial disappointment of walking into the lobby. It's not a good first impression when the carpet is stained and in need of vacuuming. The decor of the hotel is generally not very up to date. It looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80's. That doesn't keep me from recommending […] the hotel as a place to stay while passing through the area. It's convenient to I44 and the area of Six Flags. The room was clean enough and everything worked as expected for the price paid. I might stay there again, but I would probably look for something a bit newer in the same area. The room were filthy. My grandson crawled on the carpet and his feet turned black from the dirty carpets. We found items left in the rooms from previous guests and the over all cleanliness was very, very poor.
