Pluspunten: mooi modern hotel, prima bedden, airco goed afgesteld, lekkere douche, vriendelijk personeel, mooi dakterras, naast het centraal station (geen geluidsoverlast van treinen). Minpunten: standaardkamer was niet erg ruim en zag uit op andere kamers.

Opvallend veel slechte kritieken gelezen over de service en de keuken van het hotel. We zijn daarom buitenshuis gaan eten. Maar volstrekt ten onrechte. De service en bediening was prima evenals het ontbijt. we komen hier terug en blijven dan ook eten.

Prima hotel met goede faciliteiten. Personeel is vriendelijk, vooral in de bar. Je loopt zo de natuur in en de Soesterduinen zijn om de hoek. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Ligging.
NH City Centre Amsterdam ligt in het centrum van Amsterdam, op loopafstand van Begijnhof, Amsterdam Museum en Paleis op de Dam. In de buurt bevinden zich ook De Dam en New Church Museum.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Dit hotel met een groen/duurzaam beleid biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een bar/lounge. Een draadloze internetverbinding is gratis beschikbaar in openbare ruimtes. Dit hotel met met 3 sterren beschikt over zakelijke voorzieningen waaronder een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes voor kleine groepen en audiovisuele apparatuur. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, hulp bij excursies/tickets en hulp bij excursies regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere meertalig personeel, een wasserij en gratis kranten in de foyer. Gasten kunnen tegen betaling gebruikmaken van een shuttlebus van en naar het vliegveld op geplande tijden.

Elk kamer biedt uitzicht op de stad of het water. NH City Centre Amsterdam heeft 209 kamers met een kluisje op de kamer en een waterkoker/koffiezetapparaat. Elke kamer heeft flatscreen televisies met kanalen via de kabel en betaalfilms. Gasten kunnen tegen betaling gebruikmaken van draadloos internet op de kamer. Een kussenkeuzemenu is beschikbaar. Elke badkamer heeft bad of douche met een handdouche en make-up-/scheerspiegels.Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een haardroger en een strijkplank/strijkijzer. Daarnaast wordt dagelijks een huishoudservice aangeboden. Op verzoek zijn voorzieningen als een telefonische wekdienst beschikbaar. In NH City Centre Amsterdam mag niet op de kamers worden gerookt.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag in rekening worden gebracht.

De grachtengordel, het klassieke beeld van Amsterdam met haar statige grachten, wordt in principe gevormd door de Herengracht en de Keizersgracht met haar prachtige hoge 17e- en 18e-eeuwse huizen. Sommige huizen zijn nu musea, waarvan het Kattenkabinet het meest excentrieke museum is. De Amstel is een waterweg zonder franje, vol woonboten en beroemd om de veelgefotografeerde Magere Brug. De drijvende Bloemenmarkt is een andere geliefde grachtenattractie.

Er is een invalidelift om binnen te komen maar die weigerde nog wel eens ,jammer dat je daar ook altijd t personeel voor moet lastig vallen omdat de ingang in t steegje naast t hotel ligt.

"Hotel NH city centre in Amsterdam"
Great hotel and pleasant stay... Proximity to main tourist locations was very helpful... I would have been even more glad if hotel had included breakfast and wi-fi in bedroom(free wi-fi is only in the lobby)...but still not too much to complaint about !

Good location, easy access to public transport, no noice from bars/clubs, good everyday room cleanup with fresh towels, free safe for your passport and other stuff you won't carry around. The overall experience was good. Not a five star, but I rather give it a 3+

I enjoyed my stay at the NH City Centre. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and modern throughout. Although street side, the room was quiet as very good windows keep noise out. Hotel staff were helpful and courteous. Wifi is only available in lobby for free in 30 minute intervals. Would have preferred free wifi in my room. The restuarant next […] to the hotel is very expensive and breakfast at NH a bit high. An inexpensive bakery is very close however, as is a very good moderately priced restuarant across the street. The NH city centre hotel was a very enjoyable stay 4 myself and my girlfriend on our 1st trip to Amsterdam. It was amazingly located close to all the main attractions and sight seeing spots. Our room was not the best looking out onto a brick wall but they were more than happy to change us to a room with a canal view and I must say it was an amazing […] room. The only negative I have is when we were checking out there was a hidden fee of €9.90 for city tax. It would of been nice to be aware of this charge but all in all we had a great stay at the NH city centre in amsterdam. Lees meer

The hotel was pretty easy to find from the #1, 2 or 5 tram, and the staff at reception were welcoming and friendly. The foyer is very nicely laid out, with an endless sweet supply on the reception desk. Location of hotel to many attractions was ideal for us e.g. less than 15 minutes walk to Leidseplein, a main shopping area. Our room suited us quite […] well. Three single beds accommodated the three of us perfectly for our girls' city break. Everything was very clean, though slightly dated in some areas of hotel. Comfortable and clean, serviced everyday. The only complaint we had was that the breakfast cost 20 euros each (15 if you booked breakfast as you check in). This is a steep price for breakfast. However there are plenty tearooms & cafes nearby. We only had breakfast in the hotel the first morning. We didn't eat in the hotel's own restaurant so I cannot comment. Decent hotel - very close to dam square and all the regular tourist spots. Hotel itself is set in a typical amsterdam building (very steep stairs etc) but it is very clean.

I have not stayed in other properties in Amsterdam before but this hotel was excellent. European hotels are usually tiny compared to Western Standards but this room was adequate size and well appointed. "Small but comfortable"
Hotel room was small by American standards. Clean linen, in room fridge and hot pot were a plus. We arrived during a snow storm and -20C weather and were concerned about having a radiator in the room as our heat source. Once the room was heated it was nice and cozy and provided a nice refuge from our walks and tours. Friendly staff and great location. […] Will return if the opportunity arises. Hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of most of Amsterdam. Room was small but clean, and the bed was comfortable. We were beside the house keeping station which was a bit noisy in the morning. Also our double bed was just two single beds put together which was annoying. They changed our room with no hesitations but to fund they had charged us again for the new room which meant we had no spends in the bank on the sat night ... We spent 3 days here before taking off for our next destination. This was convenient to most of the things we wanted to see (and were able to get around on foot to all of them). The drawback to this hotel was the price compared to to others in the area. We spent 1 day in another hotel on the way back and it was twice as good for half the price. Very whell located, in the heart of Amsterdam. Don't believe in the number of stars... small rooms with nothing but the strictly necessary. Parking fees are very high if you're ravelling by car, but not mentionned anywhere. Summary: quite expensive for what it provides, next time I should try other options.

Nice location relatively close to all the attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was always clean upon our return. Very secure, key card needed to enter hotel, use lift and enter room. Furthermore, a safe comes free with the room. Overall, everything was how it should be. Nice hotel, relatively quiet, good location. I would recommend […] it to anyone. The only comment i could make against it was the view from our window. The hotel has probably seen better times but it is conveniently located and it was a good price. Checking in took forever and even though I signed for the express check-out I still had to wait at the reception before leaving...

I'm a frequent traveller and I was very disappointed with the standard of the room that was on offer from NH Hotels. It was my first stay with this chain of hotels. First of all the room was very dark, the decor was very old and the room shape itself was unusual. Whilst I booked a double bedroom and therefore expected a double bed - the room had two […] single beds which were simply pushed together. "NH City Centre - Convenient but Dingy"
This hotel is convenient to sights, but has very small, and rather dingy, rooms--not a good value even for Amsterdam's generally cramped hotels. The breakfast, however, was very good for a buffet, and our interior room was quiet. For the price, I would book another place.

Very knowledgeable & helpful multilingual staff. Comfortable, clean well apportioned rooms a little on the small size but with all amenities. Great location convenient to attractions, shopping, restaurants, trams, buses, etc. Canal view rooms a plus. Would stay there again.

"Good Location"
The location of the hotel is good as we there are many nice restaurants and bars near by. It is approx 1.3km from the central station so it is a little bit of a walk from the red light district. Negatives of the hotel was the staff as I found them to be very rude and unreasonable. Also the internet can only be used in the hotel lobby.
"The NH Ciry Hotel - Avoid at all costs"
The photographs displayed online and the whole booking procedure are extremely misleading. We booked a room for 3 people at a quite high price. They gave us a room which was intended to be for two beds and they just added a 3rd bed (not even a real bed, it was a camping bed). On top of this when booking online you have the option of selecting a smoking […] room! Do not be fooled!! Out of 207 rooms they only have 5 smoking rooms but they still provide you with the option when booking online so that they can trick people into booking with them. I mean come on.. not many people go to Amsterdam and don't want a smoking room. In addition the staff were rude and the service was really slow. Also, they tend to come knocking on the door at 8 in the morning to clean the room?!?!?! We didn't let them in cause we were sleeping (we were on vacation, I don't even wake up at 8 when I go to work). They didn't come to clean the room afterwards during the day (I wish I knew why..) and our room wasn't cleaned for 3 days. Lees meer
