We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Prima locatie om van daaruit San Diego te ontdekken. Naar o.a. de Zoo, het Balbaopark en ophaaladres van huurauto gebracht en opgehaald met shuttledienst van het hotel, ideaal. Schone kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Redelijk ontbijt met plastic bordjes en bestek.

Heerlijk hotel, niet ver van Sea World, San Diego Zoo, uss Midway, Gaslamp, Old Town en het strand. Allemaal binnen acceptabele tijd per auto te bereiken. Super mooi hotel met ruime kamers. Het is wel een gehorig hotel, wat vooral in het weekend lawaai met zich mee bracht van buren. Door de weeks was de marine aan de overkant van het water met trainingen bezig. Dit vonden wij niet heel storend, maar het geluid is er wel. Verder zit ontbijt er niet bij in en is heel duur als je dat nog bij wilt nemen. Dat is echt een minpunt. Als je dit hotel boekt, hou er rekening mee dat het twee locaties zijn. Wij zaten in de tower en het 'grotere gebeuren' was verder op. We hadden wel een lobby, servicebalie, restaurant en verwarmd zwembad, dus dat is prima voor elkaar. De starbucks en de grote lobby van de foto's zit in het andere gedeelte. De kamers zijn echt super ruim! We hadden een ruim zitgedeelte en eettafel erbij, en dat voor een gewone kamer. Uitzicht op zee was erg mooi.

Het hotel ligt midden in het uitgaansgebied; veel restaurants in de omgeving en ook de winkelstraat is om de hoek. De bediening is gastvrij en zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is echter simpel, maar dat schijnt in Amerika normaal te zijn. Kortom: als je op zoek bent naar een centraal gelegen hotel met alle gewenste voorzieningen in de buurt en ruime kamers, dan ben je bij Gaslamp Plaza suites op het juiste adres!
Ligging.
Days Inn San Diego - South Bay ligt in South Bay in Chula Vista, dicht bij Silver Strand State Beach. Bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving zijn onder andere Petco Park en San Diego Convention Center.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Gasten krijgen elke ochtend een gratis ontbijt. Naast een fitnesscentrum en meertalig personeel heeft Days Inn San Diego - South Bay voorzieningen als een wasserij. Draadloos internet is gratis beschikbaar in openbare ruimtes. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere koffie in de lobby, gratis kranten in de lobby en parkeerplaatsen voor campers en vrachtauto's. Parkeren op locatie is gratis. De accommodatie beschikt over speciaal daarvoor bestemde rookruimtes.

Elke kamer heeft een magnetron en een koelkast. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een föhn en een strijkplank/strijkijzer.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag worden aangerekend.

Het Knott's Soak City Water Park en het Coors Amphitheatre, waar grote concerten worden gegeven, zijn populaire toeristische attracties van South Bay.

Dit is een heel normaal standaard hotel, niks bijzonders aan. Zwembad was goed, geen handdoeken bij de pool. Onvriendelijke meneer bij check/in die eigenlijk helemaal geen zin had zijn werk te doen en erg kortaf was. Ontbijt was netjs, maar we moesten wel in een lange rij. Air condition didn't work so the room was hot all night long. Maintenance could fix the problem. House keeping forgot to clean the room so at 5:00 when I came back I had to call for the room to be cleaned. Such an inconvenience since I had to wait outside for the room to be cleaned. Location is convenient next to the Blue Line train station that takes you to the middle of downtown.

We stayed for three nights and should have stayed elsewhere. Construction made a mess of the place- the breakfast area had been reduced in size and four people getting coffee or mini muffins were a crowd. On our first day, our room they did some maintenance which caused strong fumes to get in the rooms. The room was not clean found old food behind the nightstand. The toilet had poop in it from not being flushed. The bathroom was nasty
"Very helpful in extending our reservation"
The hotel reservation started out as a one day stay. Due to other circumstances, it was necessary to extend our stay over the through the Tuesday morning after Labor Day. The hotel staff worked everything out to our advantage at a very special rate. We would recommend the Days Inn in Chula Vista, CA, to other families. PB

"not what I expected"
The hotel room looked to be going thru remodeling. The hair dryer was on the counter. And the room had ants on the doorway and along the edges of the room. The towels looked to dried out with a off white color and seem really thin towel. The breakfast didn't look clean either.

Rooms not properly built. Building material left everywhere. Overly priced for something so far from all the sights
Price was very affordable, and the room met our needs! Check in was easy, and check out was very simple. It is also located next to Black Angus and a nice pancake house! Also easy access to freeway and gas station.

This is a very convenient hotel. It is close to the 5 freeway and the room was very cozy and upgraded.I was impressed!! Upon arrival, front desk was very friendly. The room was sufficient for our needs (a place to sleep and get cleaned-up in). Nice restaurant located within walking distance and fast food locations close by as well. We enjoyed the easy access to I-5 to get to SeaWorld, downtown San Diego, beaches, etc. We would definately stay there again.

My only two objections are noise and inconsistent wash towel provisions. Dull reverberations and dull drum sounds at 2:30 A.M.

This place was horrible. There was a funky smell in my room. They failed to warn me that they were going to be doing all-day construction in every room except for mine. The Internet was slower than dial-up and I picked up some kind of rash in an area you don't ever want to get a rash. Don't let the price tempt you.

I stayed there 3 nights. Single female/ there was plenty of lighted parking right outside of my hotel door. This hotel was priced really cheap which is what I was looking for. I was surprised to see a clean room with a fridge/microwave/ironing board& iron.. Shower towels were really old, but just what I expected! Water pressure in shower was good. Only […] complaint is that both the alarm clock and wakeup call failed me. neither went off- glad I set my cell phone alarm as backup. the stay was really nice especially forthe price, I didnt have a probablem with anything and the trolley is right there for you to ride around metro san diego. it was nice for a business stay, I would definately stay again.

The bathroom door would not locked because the wood was rotten. The maid service only made bed and threw out thrash. People would be in pool area making out and drinking.

the hot water in the shower would be extremely hot then cold.. a/c was very loud. neighbors and guest were noisy inside and outside the rooms. breakfast was 6-9 but often stop serving at 8-8.30 due to running out of food. if the employees would stop eating it, then they would not have run out. lots of transient people begging in parking lot, not a children […] hotel. breakfast was only muffin coffee juice, cereal. would not stay again. "Left Hungry"
The rooms were great with comfortable beds, microwave, and refrigerator, but the free continental breakfast was practically non-existant. The food and drinks, such as coffee and orange juice were not replenished at all. So my family didn't get to have the free breakfast, even though we got there 2 hours before the end of free breakfast.

"Front desk employee was bored and indifferent."
This hotel is cheap and for good reason. No frills, small room, typical cheap hotel furnishings. The man at the front desk barely gave eye contact. Frankly, he just seemed bored and not really caring to be there. This kind of work ethic leaves a poor impression on me. I would think twice before staying here again.

"Great room for the money"
The room was in excellent condition, very clean and quiet for the most part, except for the noise from the pool during the day which was expected. The staff were very courteous and quick to help! Would definitely stay there again and recommend to our friends or family!
