Santa Anita Inn in Arcadia

The grounds were nice however the rooms were not. The A/C system was turned off even though it was 84 degrees, people had the doors to their rooms open to gain some breeze, the "Fan" within the system had a terrible drone that almost vibrated your voice if you talked while it was on. I called the desk to move to another room due to this drone, she replied […] that they were full and could not and didn't offer anything to compensate. The carpets were stained, the bathroom had dirty grout and a broken toilet seat cover, the bedspread appeared dirty and I was afraid to check further. All in all this was one of the worst properties that I've ever booked at although the location was good. Next time I'll stay elsewhere and drive the extra mile. Lees meer

Great little hotel for the get away weekend for the guys! Right next door to the race track and lots of nearby restaurants and shops.

I liked that the Santa Anita Inn was just across the street from the racetrack and very close to the Westfield shopping mall. It's also walking distance to nice restaurants such as The Derby. The room itself was adequate for the price. My only complaint really was that I was unable to get the room at a comfortable temperature at night. It was really […] warm in the room. Fortunately a rainstorm, with colder than normal temperatures swept through the area the night of March 16th so the next morning I opened the sliding glass door to the patio of room 174 to cool down the room as I rested and prepared to return home. I might stay there again but will probably pay a little extra to stay at one of the newer hotels right by The Derby restaurant. Lees meer

Old and rundown

An older motel with character, next to the famous Santa Anita Race Track near Los Angeles. Most rooms have a balcony or terrace overlooking landscaped grounds with waterfall, fountain, pool and hot tub. Rooms are clean and comfortable, a very basic continental breakfast is included.

Before booking a room at the Santa Anita Inn I read some of the reviews. After a two night say I can say that I did well in not letting the negative reviews influence my choice in where to stay. The price was good. It was rather noisy at night and I prefer to select weather I want air or heat. But it is an older hotel and could use some updating.

This was our second stay this year. Room was quiet & comfortable, but the bathroom was not as clean as on an earlier stay. The grounds are very nice and well maintained. Just a very nice place to stay.

1. Fewer towels 2. Shower, inadequate water force 3. Breakfast: No orange or other kind of fruit juice

great value for the online special price, i book a single but was upgraded to a dbl for the same price. Very friendly staff, in a pinch i would book again.

getting in and out of hotel was inconvenient. Towels and soaps were terrible. Phone flash would not stop.

Was a decent hotel. Old but very comfortable. Clerks were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was very nice for a continental breakfast. Across from racetrack and close to places to go. The only problem we had was it was a "non smoking room" and it either had been a smoking room or someone smoked in it. The smoke permiated into our clothes, could […] smell it upon entering the room. The hotel room was nice and had a very homely feel to it - almost like a college apartment. The second floor room had high ceilings and a shared balcony with other rooms. Not too much to complain about except since there are so many buildings, they should've separated smoking and non-smoking units. We were at the Santa Anita Race Track all day for my mother's Celebration of Life service in the morning and horseraces in the afternoon. It was an exhausting day and the Santa Anita Inn was right across from Gate 5. If we knew the area better, we would have known about the one-way streets and didn't have to circle around again to get in the driveway. […] Not a big deal. The inn is older but nice. It is clean and comfy and the grounds are gorgeous. I believe each room has a balcony which is a nice little asset. We stayed on the second floor in room 263 and the floor was a little warped in spots but it didn't bother us. We would stay there there again. The only thing I would complain about is the continental breakfast. I think we were there for breakfast about 9:00 and almost everything was gone and had not been restocked. A little more variety would be nice. How about some frozen waffles at least. There were only 2 pastries left. Maybe some bagles with cream cheese/peanut butter??? Just suggesting. Old hotel, and a bit difficult to locate, if you miss the driveway you need to go around the block a bit. The air conditioner was very loud and not easy to sleep through the noice.

The Motel was convenient for what we wanted. It was 30-40mins from Hollywood, Ontario Shopping Outlets, Long Beach. Hotel Manager was great and staff were excellent We stayed in a room downstairs would recommend upstairs room only as you can hear the people upstairs all night "every night" we were there for a week.

Nice hotel and grounds. The only issues were the t.v. reception was poor and the quality of the towels were very poor. Other than that i would abssolutey recommend the hotel.

The hotel is in a safe neighborhood.The lobby and breakfast area are very well kept. The free breakfast it is pretty good--hard boiled eggs, cereal, pastries, O.J. Milk, coffee, toast, and frest cut fruit.The room needs TLC--low popcorn ceilings, dark, old carpet and the bathroom needs upgrading--cracked sink, tiles; but it was very clean! It is okay for the price. The room was clean. However, don't expect a comfortable bed or spacious room or nicely lighted interior. I paid what I get for, so I have no complaint on that. The only complaint I have is the LOUD TV noise from next door and the upper floor. Plus, the LOUD floor noise from upstairs in the middle of the night (12am to 1am). […] The two nights I stayed there, I was waken up both nights. This was a very nice hotel, and a hidden gem for the price! Convenient location, clean, comfortable & well kept room with a pleasant patio. We have no complaints and will be sure to return here on future visits.

My family stayed three nights. The manager was nice and has upgraded free to a twin bed room. The swimming pool with a Jacuzzi was cozy enough though my kids enjoyed just one day because of cool early June weather. Recommended for those looking for a budget hotel with convenient access to all.

as soon as i got out of the car i smelled the small rose garden. the rooms are located in 7 or 8 separate buildings throughout the property which has some very pretty garden areas. the pool has a curvy shape, reminiscent of old hollywood. it was almost like a step back in time, old california of the 40s and 50s, which is probably when the place was […] built. the room had a great big balcony, and the room itself was quite large. renting online i had no idea what to expect, but i think this place was a gem! This hotel was great for those of us attending a family event- comfortable beds and nice sized rooms so we werent tripping over luggage, and big balcony connecting with other rooms for social gatherings. We didnt spend alot of time in the room- but out and about. Great park space next to hotel to get out and walk. The reason for being in Arcadia was to go to Santa Anita Park for the Derby and other thouroughbred racing, so it's almost impossible to beat the location of this hotel. The people running it are friendly and helpful. The decor is a bit dated, but the overall experience is one of comfort at a reasonable price.

Very nice landscaped grounds with a restful atmosphere. Lots of nice restaurant choices nearby. Rooms are not fancy, but very comfortable and clean.

This hotel was very close to an art fair I was working and for the $ I found it very comfortable. My idea was to lay by the pool the day before the show, however, it was rainy and chilly. We were able to walk across the street to the race track. There are also several hotels within walking distance. Very convenient and clean.

Room was okay for the price. No airconditioning, only heat--because owners only turn on airconditioning when they want. TV and Refrig. did not work until maintenance came and fixed it. Hair blow dryer did not work well, piece broken, and should be replaced. It's obvious that owners are not putting much money into making this hotel more desirable to […] stay at. I've stayed at this motel before, and I like the old fashioned faucets, pictures, etc. It's very reasonably priced for the area, and convenient. It is a little disconcerting to get into... the road splits right there, and becomes a one way, where you turn into the driveway, but you quickly figure it out. The hospital is nearby and sometimes ambulances […] come right by. However, the grounds are very nice and the breakfast is adequate. The staff is always nice and friendly. I had trouble with my door lock twice during my stay, the door key wouldn't open the door. Since my room was farthest from the lobby, that was kind of frustrating, but overall I would stay there again, since what I saved in price was used to buy a lovely dinner! Lees meer

The rooms are not fancy but are clean and perfect for a short stay. The grounds around this property are well kept and there is a pool and hot tub available for use once the weather is warmer. Try to get an upstairs room since you do hear some creaking of the floors from people walking above. The continental breakfast was decent. They offered juice, […] coffee, cereal, danish, hard boiled eggs and fruit. They even started the breakfast earlier on New Years day for people going to see the Rose Parade. Large swimming pool with beautiful water fall feature. Great place in the Southern California weather to relax. Friendly, helpful, informed staff. Across from Santa Anita Racetrack - a classic. Close to everything.

It's an older hotel, but very nice, and fits in well with the Arcadia area. The garden is very beautiful, with roses and a fountain. For a fairly inexpensive hotel it is quite adequate. The intersection where it sits is confusing, however, so you have to pay attention to the roads.

Given the price, I was not expecting much, but this hotel turned out to be great. The rooms open out back onto a nice green area which was nice in the hot weather. The staff was friendly.

The room was fine until the air conditioner dicided to stop blowing cold air. I called three times to have them fix the air and bring some coffee. The third time I called they hung up on me. I ended up sleeping with the balcony door open just to cool it off in the room. I can see why they charge you before your stay, if they waited,like most hotels […] do, they would not get paid. We were satisfied with the room. The grounds were beautiful. The continental breakfast was pretty limited. The T.V. only had about 10 channels.

I stayed at the hotel in early July when the weather was still cold during the night. I turned on the heat but cold air came out. I asked the front desk and the clerk said that it is one big air conditioning system for the whole hotel and they had turned the heat off already. This was the only inconvenience. This was my second time of staying there […] and this time, I asked for someone to take me to my room when I checked in because the rooms are hard to find, especially when it is after dark.
