We needed to find a clean place for a short overnight stay near interstate 5 so that we could attend several amateur sporting events over a two-day span. Just roll in, sleep, and roll out. This place was.the perfect spot.

This Days Inn is what you could expect for the price in terms of quality of the room/amenities, etc. Location was superb and a great price for the area. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, grocery store, train station, everything. However, the staff was extremely rude and unaccommodating. The supervisor barely looked up at us while checking […] us in, did not provide answers to our questions, did not tell us where our room was (just handed us a key with a room number) and was generally miserable. He remained that way each time we saw him during our 3 day stay. We had to call down to the front desk to tell them about our broken toilet; no answer. Walked down there; no one there. At one point our key stopped working so we had to walk down to the front desk; again no one there. Then when he finally showed up he acted annoyed that we were at the desk. His behavior trickled down to some of the other people working there; only our cleaning staff was friendly to us. Overall worth it for the money, but management should seriously consider an attitude adjustment. Lees meer

We chose this place as a last minute resort, the TV didnt work, and the sheets has a hoorible overabunance of chloire smell, it was so bad I woke up with a headache. Then I didnt realize how bad it smelled until we got to our next destiantion the next day, and unpacked again and all my clothes smell like the chlorie from the sheets, it was really bad. […] The manager told us since our TV didnt work he woudl gvine us a 20% discoutn, I ahvent seen a discount yet, but they charged the full price no problem. Good stay, only complaint was ac/heater kept going on and off all night, finally shut it off and covered up, other than that great stay for the price! Cleaning staff seam to do a great job!!

The room was small but otherwise equipped with all the usual amenities. It was clean and comfortable and located in a great area close to the freeway and only blocks from the beach area. An easy walk to a number of great shops, cafes and pubs. A great value!

I was disappointed in the tiny room. The "queen" bed seemed more like a full sized bed, but maybe the tiny room made me feel that way. The two table chairs could only be used if you planned to block passage to anywhere else in the room. I plan to spend a little more next time to try something else.

I came to San Diego from Scottsdale AZ on business and decided to stay a few days. The hotels location was great because we don't drink and drive in Scottsdale due to the strict DUI laws, so the $10 cab ride to the Hillcrest night life was refreshing! The staff was very nice, and the rooms were very clean. Complimentary wifi and free parking was a MUST […] for me and the hotel offers both. The rooms were just what I needed-and the hotel.com rate was amazing! Its not "The W-Scottsdale", but a quaint alternative. I am extending my stay another night, and believe me, as "specific and detailed" as I am about certain things, I would never consider doing that if it wasn't a good place to stay. Lees meer

Enjoyed the location near numerous resturants. Very nice comfortable room and really enjoyed the multiple pillows on the bed. Staff was courteous and polite.

Other than the location and the friendly staff, the hotel is one I won't stay in again. The noise from loud, rude guests made two of my nights sleepless. The bathroom, was far too over-sized (perhaps "handicap" bathroom, but never advertised as such) where the space could have been used for the living area. Very helpful, pleasant, cordial staff. Right off of I-5, convenient to San Diego and Los Angeles area. Room neatingly prepared daily. I enjoyed having a smoking room option. Would visit again.

It's a Days Inn. Clean and friendly people but sheets and towels are cheap. Single bed rooms are tiny...New York style but double bed rooms are more normal. Fine if you are just going to sleep there, as we did. Can walk to the cute downtown too.

Staff are friendly, unobtrusive, told me my room was paid for by Expedia. Its a no-frills hotel but includes free wifii a safe and a fridge. Some traffic noise and some late night engine noise from people attending Denny's which is in the parking lot. Four pillows on the bed, nice hot shower and clean. Went to Encinitas to spend T-Giving w/family. Days-In was adequate for my purpose, conveniently located near PCH and beach. Room was on north facing side - VERY NOISY from I-5 running on east side of motel. Bathroom ran was noisy and innective...

This was not a vacation trip. It was just an overnight stay since we had business in the area. As we approached it, the looks of it gave us pause to be concerned that it might be a cheap motel experience. It was not. The room was very comfortable and spacious. It had a separate sitting area and couch. The bed was great. A continental breakfast was included. […] The staff was very nice. Free WIFI. It was only a few blocks walk to the beach and all the nice village shops in that community. Problem...I heard the 90's calling and they wanted their TV's back. There were two TV sets in the room but they were the old CRT type with bad pictures, bad remote controls and very few channels. I just gave up on them and watched TV on my laptop instead. The staff said they hope to upgrade soon. Flat panel TV's are not crazy expensive anymore so, DAYS INN Encinitas, time to go shopping.. Lees meer

It was very nice place to stay. It looked as if they had just changed out the bathroom counters and was very clean. The hotel service must have had an off day as I was waiting for a phone call and the staff had said it was the wrong number to the person calling me.

The hotel was easy to access. Basic and perfect for what we wanted needed and expected; a place to lay our heads and eat. Quiet place. Nice help. I took my too kids on their first out of state vacation and needed a decent reasonable place to stay. It was close to the beach too! Very convenient location with Denny's restaurant on the property. Good freeway on and off just up the street. Staff was friendly and helpful. For a 'budget' motel, it's about the best I"ve experienced.

I stayed here because I had to be in Del Mar very early the next morning (less than 10 minutes away on the freeway). I never saw the place in the daylight so I got a poor impression of the exterior. However the room was clean and comfortable and it was close enough to down town Encinitas to walk. Half a mile away from the nice sandy beach, a restaurant next to the hotel and mostly it's very close to legoland and only a hop to get to the freeway. Will have to stay here again.

Our stay was very comfortable. It was closes to businesses and restaurants.The rooms were clean and made up everyday. We have stayed here before and had no problems with it. The breakfast was adequate. It had coffee and orange juice and cereal which all we usually eat.

Great location - walking distance to the beach and Encinitas shopping, fast and easy access to freeway. Some road noise especially on the street side, facing Denny's. Rooms very small but neat and clean. Helpful staff. Terrific value. Nice small park across the street.
