Stayed here for a stag. Location is a bit out of Galway City. Hotel is very clean with great facilities. Excellent leisure centre and pool. Nice rooms and great food.

Lovely hotel and quiet, comfortable room. Really recomend trying out the hotels lesuire centre. Only regret not thinking to book a spa treatment!

Great price for hotel not too far from city centre. Very friendly staff and very clean hotel. Bar is great as well

The hotel was on a direct bus line to Eyre Square and much less expensive than more central hotels (you could also walk but it's a hike). The pool and fitness area was outastanding but crowed as was the pub, the locals enjoy the pub for sporting events. Hotel staff as attentive as at a 5 star hotel.

We stayed for two nights tow adults and two kids 6 and 4. Room was fine - the double bed was not the biggest hotel bed but overall no complaints. Would like a 'do not disturb' sign for the door so the cleaning staff would know when to come in or not.

Stayed at Carlton in Feburary for 3 nights. I stayed with my husband and two and half year old son. We stayed in the one bedroom suite. It was very comfortable and homely. It catered for our every need, our little boy loved the extra space. The use of the swimming pool was a great advantage, the weather wasn't great so it kept our little boy occupied. […] This facility was well run and clean. Nice hotel, good value, clean room. Good location. Seemed to cater well for families. Only negative was that 3 of the 4 Lifts broke down on Fri nite but they were repaired within 12hrs.

Excellent leisure facilities. The bar food was excellent but the delay for seating could be managed better, why not tell guests when checking in that this may be a problem. Disappointed with WiFi and the unavailability of a lead for my lap top.

Great family hotel and good for a relaxing few days away. The only annoying thing is that you have to wait to be seated for 'bar food' crazy and pretty annoying.

Staff extremely courteous and helpful, but the condition of the room, lights not working, freezing and shower not particularly hot. Very convenient to GMIT. Would never go there again though.

Had a 2 night stay in the Carlton hotel, as we have a 3 year old and a 5 month old we inquired about upgrading to a suite. The girl on the front desk, Ann Marie was a great help and nothing was too much bother, for 40 euro extra we upgraded, well worth it as it meant me and my wife could watch TV and relax when the kids were in the next room asleep. breakfast […] was good no complaints, the bar food was average as I got chicken wings with a blue cheese sauce, but sauce was more like mayonnaise then a blue cheese. Leisure facilities were great the kids loved it, the 2 euro charge for rental of towels is a little excessive, but you can take your room towels for free and ask to get them replaced once they have been used. The suite has a built in DVD player in the TV so that is a bonus. On the negative side I did find small pieces on glass on the carpet when playing with the baby, in fairness to the hotel the previous guests must have broken a glass and not bothered to clean it up. All in all we had a great weekend and if going to book hotel weight till you get there and look for an upgrade to a suite as the price was a lot less then if I had booked it direct. Lees meer

A very easy hotel to find, great taxi service linked to the hotel. Clos enough to city centre that you could walk but a taxi will cost between 2 and 4 each (between 4 people) traffic dependant. Bar food was outstanding, great value. Irish beers, stouts and Ales seem to be promoted in galway and you will on pay €3.80 for a pint of Guiness or Smithwicks. […] In Hotel restaraunt was a bit overpriced and the person who seemed to be the manager had poor to limited people skills. Very nice pool, open till 10PM and no children under 16 from 8. Swimming caps are needed for the pool so bring some as they charge €3 for 1 if you didn't bring your own. The room was comfy with a double and single bed, coffee table and chairs, kettle and mugs, ironing facilaties, hair dryer and TV. The lighing wasn't for reading by, even the bedside lamps, but still nice. Pricing is great and if you get breakfast included in your cost it's amazing value for such a big buffet. All in all, I would defiantly go back. It's a short journey from the train and bus station and it you're travelling here and can't drive i would recomend the train. Very comfy. Lees meer

great hotel, great facilities, and staff very helpful and friendly, just like hotels were years ago.

This is a nice enough hotel we only stayed for one night, a Sat night, the room was clean and comfortable but the water flow in the shower the next morning wes very bad plus the breakfast was nice but because of the big crowd by the time we made our tea and then made our toast our breakfast was cold-having to queue for everything at breakfast not my […] idea of a treat which a night away should be, it seemed to me they couldn't cater for the crowd!! The bar was nice and the bar food was lovely but overall I was disappointed as I had heard good things about this hotel Lees meer

overall good should improve viewing options of telivisions in main bar ie 6or 7 telivisions but the one channell on all. Richard from Cork.

Hotel is undergoing refurbishments at the moment, but the staffs was so helpful with everything, from dinner, swimming pool to reception. We got a babysitter for a couple of hours and she was lovely. The swimming pool is great for children and clean you have to bring your towels from your room to the pool and than just ask at reception for more and […] they will be in your room in a flash. Bathroom was a bit old towel rack was falling off the wall but everything worked shower lovely and hot loads of tv channels to choose from and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style as there were so many guests there was a queue for the hot food but good selection of food. We had our two children with us on there first trip to a hotel and they loved it so we inturn loved it. Lees meer

This hotel was great! The room was large and comfortable. There was plenty of parking for our car. One highlight of the hotel is the fitness center than is attached to it - with a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room and a large fitness room, this was a real treat. Our overall experience was great!

Stayed for a Saturday night , hotel very comfortable , bed was lovely and big and the breakfast was good also. Hotel is a little bit out of the city but still only a short taxi run. Only downside was that i could hear someone snoring in the next room and also at about 2.30 am there was someone sorting bottles or rubbish behind the hotel and the noise […] of what i presume was a forklift which also had a reversing alarm was ridiculous. Have stayed in Carlton over past year on several occasions as my husband was getting cancer treatment in Galway U.Hospital.The staff were polite and obliging and all meals reasonably priced.Im a big user of the leisure centre which is one of the best Ive been in.Im back again next week for a few more days so that says it all.

recently stayed three nights in above hotel with family. enjoyed our stay, very good value, very suitable for children, the only down side is at breakfast there is a nine oclock rush so there is a queue, so advice go down early and beat the queue. children enjoyed the leisure centre. Recommended for families.

For the price this hotel is a good choice when staying in Galway, I was clean,comfortable with good facilities, it is a 8 min taxi trip to the city centre with plenty of taxi's waiting outside

Check in was efficient and friendly with pleanty of free parking. Room was comfortable and clean with digital safe Food was fine at breakfast and dinner but bar service was slow at times as there was constantly a large number of customers in the bar. Changing facilities for leisure centre/swimming pool was clean with lockers provided. Remember to bring […] your room towel as it is a long walk back to get it. My wife is disabled and requires special facilities particularly in the bathroom. These were available as standard. What struck us duriing our 4 day stay was the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff who went out of theIr way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. There was ample free parking and the location of the hotel meant easy access […] to the city centre. The hotel does not look particularly attractive or impressive from the outside and could do with a facelift but inside was maintained to a good standard . Rates are very reasonable . Lees meer

Stayed in the Carlton for a saturday night, first time in Galway from Waterford. Unfortunately we were told check in was not until 3pm which is crazy for any hotel, to top this off the entire hotels swipe card system for rooms was broken so there was massive queues to speak with reception staff, then you had to be walked to your room and manually let […] in by staff, this was the case for our entire stay which was a nightmare. Hotel itself was lovely, had a nice lunch in the bar, lovely big TVs for the football, nice distance from town with bus stop down the road, 1.60 into town was handier than taxis. Hotel is very busy however the staff are very friendly and helpful. Basic but exactly what we were looking for, clean close and value for money.

We recently stayed at the carlton hotel galway, it was a late booking so we were'nt expecting much but to our surprise it was busy and we were given a suite it was beautiful clean and comfy, we had access to the pool sauna and steam room and the added bonus there was a kids club for our 7 year old, that was the icing on the cake she had a great time. […] the food was excellent even though we couldn't get into the restaraunt (because it was so busy) it didn't matter the bar area served just as good, we stronglhy recommend the carlton on the tuam rd there are 2 it's a must return there again and we've already told our friends about it, especially those with kiddies, we're just sorry we couldn't stay for another night Lees meer

A pleasant hotel with a lovely pool /gym facilties. However, it was further to walk to the downtown area of Galway than we thought.

I found the whole experience relaxing, professional and polite. I will most certainly stay there again and I would unreservedly recommend the Carlton Hotel Galway to my friends/colleagues

Was down for the Ironman weekend , hotel was packed out , very busy but still the staff were very friendly , chatty and very helpful . Had a great time .

My third time to stay. Booked in for four nights, excellent service. Sat night stay a stagg party booked in each side of our room, not impressed. Bar food excellent but a little expensive. swimming pool brilliant. very good facilities for children. Hightly recommend this hotel.

the light bulbs were fuse in lamps dark room. 3 star hotel for the price of four star
