Copamarina Beach Resort ligt aan een privéstrand in Guanica, dicht bij Gilligan's eiland en Bosreservaat Guanica.

"I wanted to stay longer"
It was the perfect tropical setting. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was amazing. This was my first visit to this resort and I definitely want to go back. It was so peaceful! There are numerous things to do in the area, but you wouldn't want to leave the resort. Gilligan's Island is a must. "Great quite resort"
Excellent stay. If you go take the hike along the cliffs and spend a day at Gilligans island. Great for kids. Ours loved it.
"Pools are open 22 hours a day!!!"
We stayed in PR for 6 nights and spent 3 of those nights here, but we wish we would have spent more! It is a little bit of a trek from San Juan. Originally we considered going here the day that we arrived in San Juan, we were suppose to land at 11am, but after an hour delay on our originating flight, we got in at 11pm instead! Thrifty, our rental car […] company was closed for the evening. So, we were really glad that we choose to spend the 1st night in San Juan and then we picked up our rental car in the morning. We then took the slow route to the Copamarina, via hwy 1. It took us ~4 hrs to get there and we got "side tracked" a couple of times...but it was cool we got to see a lot of small towns and some great views of the countryside (we took the toll road on the way back, which was only about 2.5 hrs). The hotel is a little ways out of town, down a 1.5 lane road with lots of blind corners...really fun at night...like most places in Puerto Rico, their motto, "Do it Right," literally translates to "I do what I want." So, most on-coming traffic will most likely be partially if not completely in your lane...best to not get going too fast...unless you have fully embraced the Puerto Rican Motto, in which case, you will do what you want, too! Anywho, the hotel is great, right on the water. The beach is nice, but not great for swimming, but okay for wading...and that's okay, because there is a public beach right next door and you can take a pontoon boat direct from the hotel dock to Gilligan's Island, which is great for a swim, snorkel and a picnic...the beach is lined with palms and has a row of chaise lounges and a few canopied beds on the beach that are available to all guests free of charge. It's lovely to hang out at the beach and then take a dip in the pool with a blended drink and then repeat and relax! A 'Just What the Doctor Ordered' getaway. Rented a car and travel from San Juan to the resort was a piece of cake. Rooms and grounds were very clean and well kept. All hotel staff including the main desk, restaurant, dive center were friendly and helpful. Loved the nightly live music at the bar/restaurant. "Wonderful getaway"
I was looking for a great place to have a family vacation, and this resort met all my expectations. If you are looking for a getaway, this is the perfect place. I went with my husband and my three kids and we all have a blast. I can't wait to go back. It was great!

Here you can kick back and relax, the trip to Guilligans Island was very crowded due to it being Saturday and all of the locals were partaking in fun.Snuba Diving is awesome, everyone well trained and speak English. Great food!

We have been coming to this same place ever since we found it by accident walking along the beach 16 years ago. It is a completely relaxing place. Just what we need to get away from work-- still all the rooms have WiFi so we can do a bit of work if we want. "Copamarina Hotel in Guanica PR"
We loved the Copamarina Hotel in Guanica, Puerto Rico. It was beautiful, relaxing, and comfortable. We loved the proximity to the beach (& other beaches in the area) and the lovely grounds and pools. The Guanica Biosphere Reserve is great for bird watching and unique cacti. We also went sea kayaking in nearby Parguera. The food at the restaurant was […] great (a little pricey) and they were very accomodating with requests. I was also very happy about the Aveda bath products. Our only regret was not staying longer as we felt the stress from work peeling off with every day there. Lees meer

The food was expensive and overall of mediocre standards. They often did not have or did not include items as described on the menu. Ex: spinach salad, bacon was excluded. No beach service. "Very secluded and quaint, but service is lacking"
Overall, I like this resort. I chose it because of its seclusion. It's quiet and in a beautifully scenic area. The beach is nice, but it's difficult to swim in because of the plant life in the water. The hotel does state that they don't clear this due to its importance to marine life and the ecosystem. That's a noble reason, but you should know this […] in advance. The dissapointing parts of Copamarina are the restaurants and service. The menu is very american-ized (and straight out of the 1990's). One restaurant had a menu that read like TGI Friday's (and it tasted worse). The other restaurant was no different than a common American bistro. No local dishes and very mediocre seafood. Because the resort was so empty, they were out of many items. I expected service to be slow on a tropical island, but I waited 40 min just for dessert! Eating a simple meal took 2 hrs! None of the staff smiled or said thank you. When we checked out, the front desk person didn't ask a single question about our stay or even say goodbye. If this hotel updated it's food menu and improved its customer service, it would deserve a solid 4 stars. Until then, its three to three and a half. Lees meer

"Nice change from Northeast of Island"
Staff were very friendly and accomodating, even allowing us to check in early so that we could catch the boat to Gilligan's Island (highly recommend it). Grounds and pools were very well maintained, and being there on a Sunday afternoon/Monday morning, felt like we had the place practically to ourselves. I really enjoyed my stay at the Copamarina. When you arrive you feel like your the only one there. If you are looking for a peaceful place this is where you want to stay. The food was amazing and their live music was unbelievable. The guitarist was out of the world I could I listened to him forever. I read a review before I went complaining about the […] seaweed and how they wanted the hotel to get rid of it. First of all why would you want to take away the home of the beautiful creatures just so you don't step on something you might not like the feel of. Very well kept resort, lots to do, clean, friendly staff. A bit of a hassle to get to but well worth the effort. Plan on taking about two hours by car from San Juan. Very clean grounds.

The hotel is very well maintained ('like-new' condition), in a very beautiful environment. Family-friendly. Although the beach is not that pretty, it is fairly close to other great beaches. Hotel has reasonable prices for water sports rentals.
"Copamarina Beach Resort in Guanica Forest"
This hotel cost more money than we had initially wanted to spend, but after researching a lot of places in the vicinity, we were not able to find another property that we liked, and we knew that at the very least, this resort was located in an area we wanted to see. We arrived at night after driving along the beautiful, winding road that leads to the […] resort while the sun was setting. The layout of the hotel was very inviting - everything was open air and there was a refreshing lemonade-type drink available at reception. It was nice to have no entrance door to deal with, or any stairs or elevators. As we were checking in, we could see the restaurant, the bar and the beach beyond. When the man at check-in heard we were interested in hiking in the forest the next morning, he produced a nice booklet with lots of details on the trails and the fauna. He also spoke about the mosquitoes, of which we were already aware. We asked about an alternative activity since I wasn't keen on the bugs and he suggested kayaking. After dropping our luggage off in our room, we wasted no time in heading to the terrace for a drink and light dinner to discuss our options. The only negative here is that we were bitten by mosquitoes, and we wish we had put some bug spray on before we sat down. We could have had dinner indoors in the restaurant, but we really liked being outside by the beach. After eating, we saw that the water activities hut was still open, so we asked a few questions about kayaking and promptly decided to do that instead of hiking. Actually, I had decided I wanted to kayak a while back, but my husband loves to hike and needed a few reality bites from the mosquitoes (which we received at dinner) to change his thinking. So, the next morning we asked for a late check-out (from noon to 1pm) and kayaked to Gilligan's Island, where we saw lots of fish in the crystal clear water. Took my wife , daughter and her friends to celebrate birthday. Loved it! This place offers activities for young and old. Woud look for an opportunity go back with my wife for a nice getaway. Very relaxing...The grounds are well kept with tropical plants. I would go back and would appreciate the experience even more!

My wife did some research and found this resort in PR. It was about 45 mins from the wedding desitination but wanted to do some diving as well. Everyone was really nice, the pool, massages, the room was more than I had expected. I definately will return again.

I really liked the Copamarina. It is not "fancy", but it is serene with beautiful grounds and the ocean view and setting is awesome. The people working there are extremely service oriented and friendly (except the server who came out by the pool - no smile on that one). The restaurant food is quite good - much better than typical hotel fair. My husband […] had a whole grilled grouper that was so gorgeous, I was kicking myself for not having taken a photo before he demolished it. I do wish the bedding was more plush in the rooms and that they would upgrade the tacky striped bedspreads. We had a 2-day meeting at the Intercontinental in San Juan and I was glad we made the drive over to the Copamarina for the last 3 days. The drive was interesting and I was happy to be away from the crowds in San Juan. They seem to take a lot of pride in the upkeep of this hotel, so I expect it will stay lovely for some time to come. Our stay at Copamarina was lovely. The people who worked there were very nice and accommodating. The rooms were somewhat outdated and could use some freshening up but I believe they were in the process of doing that while we were there and they were clean. The grounds were kept beautifully and maintained daily. The food at the Las Palmas bar restaurant […] was just ok. We ordered a pizza for lunch which I am sure was frozen and the chicken burger was not good. However the food at Alexander's was delightful! I had the whole fish which was yummy. Unfortunately it was very rainy(even for rainy season) while we were there but a rainy day in paradise is better than a rainy day in NE. Watch out for the bugs! All in all an excellent vacation! "Copamarina Paradise"
We had a wonderful vacation at the Copamarina. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Our room felt like a private bungalow with a porch facing the gardens. The beach adjacent to the hotel is not swimmer friendly but if you walk along the shore just a few feet down to Cana Gorda, blue waters and silky sand await. We did not take the boat to Giligan's […] Island because of our 11 month old, but the dock is on hotel property! A convenient attraction for our next stay. I have two complaints: because of the remoteness of the hotel, I felt like their convenience store should have been better stocked. Our second complaint being the dinner portion of the menu at the grill fell seriously short. An experimental chef on classic dishes should really specify the "uniqueness" on the menu. And bring your bug spray...the mosquitos are relentless. First night we were there the citronella candles were on. Second night they weren't. Candles on, Please!!! They were a big help. Lees meer

Friendly staff. Great dinner and music (guitar playing) on the outdoor patio. We stayed in Room 115 - opened the door, walked across the lawn and was on the lovely beach. Went to Gilligan's Island on Saturday. It was very crowded with locals from the public beach next door, but with a great, festive atmosphere. We swam up the path through the mangroves […] to the secluded spot on the the other side of the Island. Just magical. Floated back along with the current. We also rented a boat one day down in La Parigura. $20/hour ay Johnny's Boats. Rented some snorkle equipment and went out to explore the mangrove Islands and watch the parasailing. Pack a lunch and some drinks and you will be set for a picture perfect day! Overall, a great stay and we look forward to returning. Lees meer

Some of the best food we have eaten in Puerto Rico or anywhere is served both at the Alexander Restaurant and the outdoor restaurant onsite here. If you are willing to drive a couple of miles off the main road, you will access a delightful experience here! The setting is quiet and safe. The landscaping and swimming pools are gorgeous and well maintained. […] If you like to swim or snorkel in the ocean, a boat departs every 20 minutes from the hotel pier for a 5 minute ride to a little mangrove covered cay.
