Vlakbij Times Square, beter kan niet. Ideaal hotel ook met kinderen. Kamers zijn prima, geen geluidsoverlast van straatverkeer. Behulpzaam personeel. Echt een aanrader.

Dit hotel is zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Dichtbij de PATH trein naar NYC. Ontbijt en kamer waren prima!

Mijn dochter (10 jaar) en ik hebben eind april een week in Cassa Hotel and Residences gelogeerd. Dit naar volle tevredenheid! Het hotel ligt op ca. 4 minuten loopafstand van Times Square, de kamer was niet groot, maar prima voor ons verblijf. Er werd keurig schoongemaakt en al het personeel was uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Men is momenteel bezig met enkele verbouwingen aan het hotel (waar wij overigens totaal geen last van hadden!) die het hotel mijns inziens alleen nog maar mooier en completer in dienstverlening zullen maken. Wij hopen volgend jaar week een week in Cassa Hotel and Residences te mogen verblijven en raden iedereen die een goed hotel zoekt in New York dit hotel van harte aan.

Goed hotel met superlocatie. Kregen gratis een update naar een gerenoveerde kamer met 2 bedden. Qua kwaliteit en prijs verhouding kan je niet beter zitten.Wij zouden er zeker terug komen, je bent er alleen maar om te slapen. En waar iedereen over schrijft dat de verwarmingspijpen verroest zijn boeit ons echt niet. Personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam.Locatie om de hoek van Times Square.
Ligging.
Pan American Hotel ligt in de buurt van Queens Center Mall, Citi Field en Arthur Ashe Stadium. Bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving zijn onder andere Chrysler Building en Station Grand Central Terminal.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Dit hotel voor zaken biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een restaurant en een bar/lounge. Draadloos internet is gratis beschikbaar in openbare ruimtes. Dit hotel met 3 sterren beschikt over zakelijke voorzieningen waaronder vergaderruimtes voor kleine groepen en audiovisuele apparatuur. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice en zakelijke diensten regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere meertalig personeel, koffie in de lobby en gratis kranten in de lobby. Gasten kunnen tegen betaling gebruikmaken van een shuttle van het hotel naar de luchthaven (op beperkte tijden). Parkeren op locatie is gratis.
Hotelkamers.
Pan American Hotel heeft 216 kamers met airconditioning die zijn voorzien van een föhn en openslaande ramen. Een snelle draadloze internetverbinding is bij betaling beschikbaar. Elke televisie heeft premiumkanalen via de kabel. Elke badkamer is voorzien van een bad/douchecombinatie en gratis toiletartikelen.
Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een klokradio en verduisterende gordijnen. Bovendien kun je op verzoek gebruikmaken van voorzieningen zoals een strijkplank/strijkijzer, hypoallergeen beddengoed en een telefonische wekdienst. Een huishoudservice is dagelijks beschikbaar.
Afhankelijk van het hotelbeleid kan voor extra personen een toeslag worden aangerekend.
Bij het inchecken dien je in het geval van incidentele kosten een erkend identiteitsbewijs en een borgsom in contanten of creditcard voor te leggen.

Luchthaven LaGuardia is de luchthaven die zich het dichtst bij de binnenstad van Manhattan bevindt. Deze luchthaven bevindt zich in het noorden van Queens en grenst aan de baaien van Flushing en Bowery. De wijken North Beach en Elmhurst omsluiten de zuidkant van de luchthaven. Immigranten uit meer dan 100 landen leven in dit etnisch gevarieerde gebied, dat ooit hoofdzakelijk Joods en Italiaans was.

Ligging is perfect tov subway; half uurtje midden in Manhattan. Grote kamers, maar beetje smoezelig. Vriendelijk personeel. Wel wordt voor elk extraatje geld gerekend. Vliegveld shuttle is ideaal, bij aankomst gratis, maar houd er wel rekening mee dat de terugreis niet zo goedkoop is en de heenreis dan kennelijk wordt meebetaald. Tip voor ontbijt: tussen […] hotel en subway is de Sunshine Bakery gevestigd. Overheerlijke verse broodjes, zeer acceptabele koffie en .....ontbijten met en tussen tientallen vriendelijke buurtbewoners. Een verblijf in PanAmerican Hotel is zeker aan te raden. Lees meer
"Somewhat outdated"
We choose for Pan American hotel due to it's price-quality value. Booking a hotel in Manhatten with the same facilities/comfort level is at least twice so expensive. But be aware, PA Hotel is somewhat outdated. Rooms are basicly okay, but our stay had some (minor) points of attention: - Entrance hall and bathroom are pretty old fashioned. Bathroom is […] decorated with wall paper, which has been done early nineties, I believe. Looks mouldy. Glue down the water basin and bath was half missing. Overall feeling is that it's old and needs renovation. Same for the frontdoor. It closes of course and can be locked from inside, but doesn't feel quite safe. We had a room at the front side of the hotel, with a view on the street. Though it's nice and lively such a view, our window did not really reduce the traffic noise. But, with the help of some dollar coins, I managed to pinch the window into the window rubbers, thereby reducing the noise. It worked, but should not be necessary to my opinion. Staff is okay, but not very friendly. They do help you in what you want or ask from them, but there it stops right away. No any more questions, no interest. It appears they just don't enjoy very much fun at work. The only staff member we spoke who was really nice, was the guy who took us back to JFK, I believe his name was Ray. - PA hotel is located at Queens. Though the subway schedule offers plenty of trains per hour and the subway station is at a 10 min. walk, its location is somewhat a barrier. It takes at least 35-40 minutes in total to get to 5th avenue, it takes 60 minutes to get to Financial District. Yes, we did know this disadvantage during booking at forehand, and yes, I know this disadvantage is one of the reasons of the lower price, but still... question yourself whether you really want this. At least at night times, we took a taxi back to the hotel, as we we're somewhat afraid to walk down Queens boulevard (as Queens is not the 'best' area of NYC). If I would visit NY again, Lees meer
"betaalbaar alternatief"
Pan American is een betaalbaar alternatief voor de dure hotels op Manhattan. Als zoals wij met een auto naar New York komt is het niet eenvoudig een betaalbaar hotel te vinden met parkeergelegeheid. Dit hotel biedt een parkeerplaats (gratis !) en een metrostation op ca 800 meter. Geen enge straten. Ontbijt in het hotel of bij de chinese bakker op 500 […] meter afstand (broodjes, thee en koffie) Hotel is verder basic maar prima. Betaalbaar hotel in New York. Dicht bij metro en in 20 min.op Manhattan. Kamers prima, maar gedateerd. Eten in hotel goed betaalbaar. Helaas is niet al het personeel even vriendelijk en behulpzaam. "Prima alternatief."
Goede prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding. Geen toeters en bellen. Behulpzame recepcionisten, bellboys en kamermeisjes. Ruime !,met tv en ijkast, (schone), kamers in verhouding tot kamers in hartje Manhattan.Goede bedden. Geen geluidsoverlast ondervonden van druk verkeer of metro, ofschoon kamer pal aan drukke Queens Boulevard lag. Op de hoek richting metro,(op […] 100m), een geweldige authentieke New Yorkse 'Diner' met aan elke tafel een minijukebox, een goed 'Steakhouse' en eenvoudige "Tearoom" iets verderop. Ook, (voor de liefhebbers), een Mc. Donalds,(met ontbijt),en een bank met pinautomaat aan de overkant.Vele Amerikaanse toonaangevende winkels,(zoals b.v. Macy's en Target), op loopafstand. Geen 'enge" buurt; metro op 8 minuten lopen en in 20 minuten op Times Square/Broadway zonder overstappen. Dichtstbijzijnde autoverhuur is bij 'La Guardia Airport';(taxi daarheen +- $15). "Just a basic hotel."
Don't expect concierge service. The hotel should at least provide a coffee making machine. It's fine for a night stay and sleep

"Nice place to stay with family leasure"
The hotel location, friendly staff, comfy room, price, everything is great..! I couldn't say the room is excellent. Because I stayed at another hotel in the same town and it was more cozy, but not the lobby, staff and the area. So I would recommend Pan American much more than that other one
"Pan American Hotel"
Budget hotel. Free parking - they let me keep the car for over my check out time, which was very convenient for travelling back to Manhattan. Room was large, comfortable. Decor dated; room could have been cleaner, but not repulsive. Good location and certainly half the price of Manhattan hotels

when i walked into the room i had to screw with the window to get it shut. then used the toilet and had to remove the back of the toilet and mess with it for 10 min to get it to flush. then the club across the street EXOTICA was so loud from midnight till 4 AM. with drunks slamming their doors and yelling in the halls till 4AM... to top that all off […] there was NO hot water the next morning Lees meer
"Real Retro"
It displays the Pan Am Airlines theme and multi-national atmosphere welcomes overseas visitors. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. Location was ideal for us considering the costs, distance to subway, and closeness to shops and free parking. Downside was the bath tub in our room which was rusty and needs renovation. The hotel is convenient for the airports and Manhattan. The staff were very friendly and helpful. With a restaurant attached made the stay more relaxing. An excellent Hotel for those of us who are on a budget The area is a thriving area with local shops nearby. I felt safe walking a round and going to and from the subway. We were looking for something inexpensive close to the city. This hotel was very reasonable and we could walk to the subway station in about 10 minutes and be in the city within 20-25 minutes. While it is common in most hotels in NYC I found that a surcharge for wireless internet access was disappointing and even worse is that the surcharge applies […] to each device. Noisy street. Make sure you get a room on the back side of the hotel. Very easy access to Manhatten, just a few blocks to the subway and 23 minutes on the subway takes you directly to Times Square.

I liked the hotel, it was great except the shower was freezing then hot, then freezing. ONLY issue. But overall great.

My wife and I booked a night here while visiting in-laws. Having stayed at a few other hotels located on Queens Blvd, I didn't expect much. I was pleasantly surprised upon entering the room. Nice size, clean & friendly. Couldn't ask for much more. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel staff was helpful showing us how to get around. It's about 1/2 mile to the subway, but once on it, it's a short ride to Times Square. The hotel worked for us because we just used it to sleep, but if you are planning on spending any leisure time in your room, it's not the place for that. "Queens Hotel"
Stayed there 4 days Monday - Thursday. First 3 nights were ok except for noise from guests slamming doors in the mornings 4th night could not sleep there must be a club in the area that opens on Thursday nights because loud music could be heard in the room until after 3 am. Pros: close to subway, and restaurants. Cons Internet is extremely slow (don't […] even think of downloading a movie from I tunes here) only available in the lobby unless you pay extra fee to use it in your room. Extra charge to return to the airport. (would have been ok with that if they said so up front when booking the room it was not that much but still besides the point). I've been coming here for years and have always been satisfied. They still come and pick you up for free at LaGuardia (though now they charge $10 to take you back), the rooms are still clean and there are still a couple of good, basic restaurants nearby. This hotel was very convient for the activities that I had planned and was pretty comfortable. True New Yorkers don't get hung up on too many things, so the expectations for the price were met. I would say here again if necessary.

I checked in with no problems but our room was not what expected. It was hot and I was told that because it was winter the heater was on. But to make things better they brought me a fan to help cool me off. The cable wasn't working so instead of finding more things wrong I was placed in a better room. Wouldn't mind checking in again, better than most hotels I've booked in the past for my vacations...
Myself and 3 children visited New York for a family vacation March 1-5. We stayed at the Pan American Hotel and had a great stay at hotel. Everyone from the van driver who picked us up from the airport to the maids they were very sweet and the front desk clerks were very friendly and nice and courties and very helpful. I'll be back in new york again […] in 2 months and will definately be staying at the pan american hotel again. Lees meer

"good place to stay"
It was a wonderful stay. Everything was very good , I will definitively recommend my friend to stay at this hotel. You cannot beat this price, anybody that will see my review , i recommend you to go there. No parking to pay, it is not far from the subway, and not far from manhattan if you are driving. I will defintively come back.

I read the reviews on this site, so I was prepared for what I was getting into. The Pan American is a pretty old hotel, and it shows everywhere. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad place! It just ... very worn out, in every regard. It's quite clean, though. For me, location beats many other things - and in this regard the Pan American is really […] great, with only 7 minutes or so walking distance to the next subway stop. I can't say anything about the restaurant food or the airport pick-up service, as I didn't use either. The people working there, whom I had contact with, ranged from very nice and helpful to short-spoken, but never disrespectful. The room was very spacious, yet containing quite old furniture. The sheets were clean, but the floor had some stains. The window didn't close completely, but fortunately my room wasn't facing the quite busy road in front of the hotel. The bathroom was clean, but had some broken tiles. The tub had some spots and the drain didn't work all too well. There were only two major nuisances in my room: the fridge was a bit loud and the bed-side lights didn't work at all. All in all I wouldn't really recommend the place to anybody having medium to high expectations to their hotel. For people like me, though, who need a convenient, reasonably clean, affordable place to spend the night (I spent 7 there!), it's quite OK. I'd probably stay there again next time I'm in NYC - if I'm going alone, that is. I wouldn't want to stay there with my wife or family... Lees meer

"Didn't feel safe"
Didn't quite feel safe. Door wouldn't properly close and they have a club downstairs that let out around 2:30 and heard a few arguments.
Great commute to the R train . The subway is amazing!!

"BEWARE OF SURCHARGES . . . ."
I recently stayed at this hotel FEB 2012. Hotel looks old and dingy. The room was small, bed was lop-sided, pillow cases were dirty, bath tub had ring it. To top matters off this hotel uses "FREE" liberally to only charge you surcharges during your stay. Check-in early $29 - Surcharge, Crib for baby $10/day - Surcharge, Shuttle back to airport $10/person […] - Surcharge. I wouldn't dare ask how much the FREE internet would cost me. If staying near LGA opt to spend a few more dollars on a hotel that has truly FREE amenities such as shuttle TO&FROM airport, and ask about surcharges. When staff tell you they can't answer questions til the day of check-in be leary. They give no handouts and NO APOLOGIES for the extra hidden fees. Oh and no credits for checking out EARLY. Overall I will never stay at this hotel again. I'll go to a more reputable one that can afford truly FREE. Lees meer

"Very rude"
The night manager was very rude he treated us like we was thieves and when I sent my girl in she got the room and he was nice to her I don't know is it's because we was black but it was not nice at all
"Value for convenience"
If you are looking for a convenient no frills hotel then this is one you can try. Only downside is the water pressure is not quite strong and wifi is not free in the rooms.

We stayed here years ago because it was the only hotel that you could get off at JFK and it was free to go on the shuttle to LGA and then free to take the shuttle to LGA the next day, II now costs to take the shuttle and it is on a very noisy street and I didn't sleep all night.
