Voor een kort verblijf van ca 5 dagen is het geen verkeerd hotel. De entree doet je vermoeden dat je in een waar paleis aankomt. Dit gevoel gaat echter snel verloren nadat je de kamers hebt bekeken. Hoe mooi opgeknapt en gerestaureerd de entree en lounge ook zijn, de kamers, liften, en sanitair zijn erg gedateerd. De kamers worden goed schoongemaakt, […] alleen onder het bed lag alvast een stofreserve van 2 jaar. Het ontbreken van een standaard airco is een groot gemis. Het eten is goed, met name het diner viel goed in de smaak. Aan te raden is om dit standaard in de reservering onder te brengen en niet afzonderlijk af te laten rekenen. Groot voordeel is de parkeergarage, deze is bereikbaar vanuit de lobby van het hotel. Dus geen nat pak of speurtocht in de nabije omgeving naar een parkeerplaats. De ligging van het hotel is redelijk, goed bereikbaar. 's Avonds wil je echter niet op straat rond hangen want dan wordt je van je sokken gereden door één van de hulpdiensten van politie, brandweer of ambulance. De criminaliteit is vrij hoog. The hotels needs to upload more recent pictures of the hotel rooms because its nothing like it seemed, there were stains on our sheets, there were ripped sheets, the didn't answer the phone when u call the front desk to complain, you have people banging on your wall for no reason at 2 am while your sleeping, the parking man is rude and no help and barely […] speaks English! On top of that the room is so small and so is the bathroom, u can barely fit in there and the shower head was broken with patches on the walls, the carpet was dirty all while they give you a small boxed tv to watch. This place was horrible I'm definitely never coming back. And the fact that there was an extra 50.00 deposit at check-in after we paid for the hotel in full was ridiculous!. The room was very simple, no extra furniture or decorations. But it was clean and the bed we had was rather comfy. The location of the hotel was great with good access to transportation and only a short distance from downtown. Oh and even though there was no breakfast included in the room price there was a 7-11 right next door which was great.

I was afraid to sleep in the bed. The hotel rooms are not like the pictures. It was not worth paying the 90.00 and plus tax!!!! I went to the store and bought a sleeping bag so I can sleep in the bed. We were on the 15th floor.

The hotel itself (lobby) is quite gorgeous actually. I loved that we got to stay on the 10th floor and have such a beautiful view at night. I also liked how convenient it was to get dinner. Room was perfect for our needs, close to the echoplex. Hotel staff was amazing after we left a pillow behind, it as recovered and washed before we got back to get it.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Mayfair. The staff was friendly, I had no real mechanical problems (the Internet was a bit hit-and-miss, but I called the front desk and I think they just restarted the router and everything was fine), and my bed was comfy. I opted for the smallest room they had because I really just needed a place to sleep and shower, […] so it was perfect for me. House keeping came by at 9 in the morning, though. Luckily I was already awake, but I would have been really annoyed if they had woken me up. The price of the room was ridiculously lower than other neighborhood hotels - probably because of the neighborhood - but I was on the 12th floor and none of the on-the-street shenanigans affected me. There's several buses that stop directly across the street, so getting to downtown and then to other regional destinations was incredibly easy, and the staff was very helpful in giving transit information like bus schedules and fares. I would highly recommend the Mayfair for someone who just needs a place to sleep. The hotel has a beautiful lobby and a facade reminiscent of historic downtown, but doesn't offer anything fancy like a spa or pool. Oh, and there's a parking structure! We stayed here for a Lakers Playoff game. We took a taxi to Staples Center and it was a flat rate of $10. After game we hung out at LA Live, then walked back to hotel. I have never written a review for a hotel until now. Worst experience ever on hotels.com. I decided to stay here because the hotel was so close to the Staples center. Which it was, however, the room I stayed in was TERRIBLE!!! THE PHOTOS OF THE ROOM LOOK NOTHING LIKE WHAT MY ROOM REALLY WAS. I felt like I stayed in the maids room. The room was very […] small and I was suppose to have a queen but had a twin. The bed looked nothing like the photos, I was scared to even sleep in it. The shower was so small that (no offense taken) I felt like it was made for a dwarf and I am only 5'3!! One person could barely fit. The toilet looked like the ones from a gas station where you have to use your foot to flush it. Imagine me in the morning!! And the sink was broken, splattered water all over me and the drain was broken I had to wait several minutes for the water to go down. I stayed in room 901 just in case you do not listen to me and stay here, do not get that room. On top of that parking is $12 a night. Take it from me, pay a little extra and find a better hotel. For $60, it was a decent hotel. Neighborhood looks sketchy but I felt safe walking around the daytime. Rooms are tiny. Carpet is pretty gross but the sheets on the bed were clean. Perfect for just the hubby and me but would never stay here with the little ones.

I was happy to see that the Mayfair Hotel was not in a scary part of town. The staff were prompt and helpful. You will be paying for a place to crash, not a luxurious retreat. The nice part is they do have a gym if you're trying to get in some exercise while on the road.

It's not as bad as people make it out to be. The rooms are small, the AC didn't work, and it is ghetto outside. Other than that, the hotel is nice, clean, and classy for its price. The front desk was very helpful in answering questions and trying to find us transportation. And the Internet was free.

Historic is correct when describing this hotel. The rooms are small, the bathrooms are small, and the beds and carpet feel as if they have been around for many, many years. I've been in 2-4 hotels a week since 2001, and this is by far the worst I have ever stayed in. Period. I really wish I could upload photos, lol. I'm not gonna waste my words on this establishment. I will say that while attempting to sit on the toilet, my right leg could not fit between the toilet and the wall. While this is going on, my left side was […] resting against the sink. To recap, you'd have to sit sideways on the toilet while leaning against a nasty sink. The shower was too small. The bathroom was so small that I had to stand on the bathtub to open and close the door, lol. The front desk tried to tell me that all of the rooms were like that. I think not. This room is not fit to be sold to anyone for any reason. Stay away from this hotel. If you do stay here, at least avoid room 925. But hey, I was told that every room was like this. Lees meer

While the hotel itself was in good condition, I found the actual room to be uncomfortable. While clean, it was incredibly hot, as the heat was on. I tried to turn it off or put on the A/C, but was told that the heat was centrailized and there was nothing the front desk would do. Front desk's solution: open the window. The hotels was very old and the room we stayed in DID NOT look like photos online and the continental breakfast is not free ($10). The staff was rude, the neighborhood was not the best and the room was so small that two people could not pass each other in the room without running into each other! The bathroom was tiny, old and you had to turn faucet […] to a certain spot, or it would make a loud noise. There was an iron (burn) mark on the carpet near the bathroom and a dresser drawer was broken and lopsided. We checked out a day early and drove home, even though we had paid for three nights online.
