River Park Hotel & Suites in Miami

Als low-budget reiziger/backpacker ben ik meestal snel tevreden, en vind ik vaak dat mensen te veel klagen op sites als deze. Maar als ik dan een keer een hotel boek, verwacht ik ook wel wat service en kwaliteit; het River Park Hotel kon beide niet bieden. De lobby is nog veelbelovend, maar de kamer oud en vies. Het raamkozijn en de lampen zaten zat […] vol schimmel en het meubilair was beschadigd. In het verduisterend gordijn zat een groot gat, de overgordijnen waren verdwenen. Bij de 3 medewerkers die ik heb gezien kon er geen glimlachje vanaf. Toen ik vroeg om een stoel voor bij het bureau zodat ik wat kon schrijven kreeg ik die niet; stoelen stonden alleen in de suites. Het zwembad is vies en de tegels eromheen gebarsten. Het dieptepunt was het ontbijt. Alles was van en slecht kwaliteit plastic. Met de plastic messen kon je niet eens smeren omdat ze meteen doorbogen! Het aanbod was zeer schraal: er waren alleen bagels met jam of roomkaas. Geen yoghurt, fruit, brood, vleeswaren of wat dan ook. Er zitten een paar leuke eettentjes aan de overkant, maar de buurt is onguur. Veel zwervers en leegstaande winkels. Enjoy the view from room. Miami, Florida was vey beautiful, especially at night I would recommend my family and friends to use Hotels.com and reserve their room at River Park Hotel & Suites in Miami , Florida.

I stayed for one night in this hotel on my way to Key West. I choose it mainly as a Key West tour bus has pick up at the hotel in the morning.It is a old property with large rooms and bathroom.Bath room toietaries are at minimum. Room and bed are comfotable. Carpets are old. Located close to Miami Metro and highways.Recommended for a short stay

Worst frontdesk service ever...staff either not present or ignoring customers...took 15 min just to show up and took one look at waiting customers then turned around and left for another 10 min! Hotel located on a very busy, one way road, with driveway/entrance partially blocked...enterance/paking a nightmare. Breakfast very poor and no room for guests […] to sit. Maid service was great! I stayed in the king suite and enjoyed my stay quite allot. The rooms are not the best on the strip, but they are more than adequate considering the price.

For what u pay I guess it did the job but needs a facility and better facade. Looks old compared to surrounding hotels but very price competitive for area.

Arrived for a business conference and had to personally search each room for an iron and ironing board. Very disappointing!

Awesome hotel if you know what you're doing. Train and bus to South Beach is literally next door to the hotel. I saved a lot of money on transportation with the free train. I shall return!

The hotel it's self does not have the best rooms but it is in a great location ! I stayed there with 3 of my friends and we were in waking distance of downtown plus close to south beach & other great spots. We didn't care that the rooms were a bit run down because if your on vacation you shouldn't even be in your hotel room that much to care.

The area is ok, central to where I wanted to be, yet the hotel leaves much to be desired. Small room, full sized bed and floral curtains and bedspread. Antiquated to say the least. There was not a microwave or refigerator in the room, so no left overs. The hotel needs a lot of repairs and updates. The first stay before my cruise was ok but I did observe mold in the bathroom. The return stay the room and linens was horrible.

A very basic hotel. Our biggest complaint was that the toilet did not flush very well, and one of our group left a flower headband in the bathroom which was nowhere to be found after the staff cleaned up. Good location if you need to be in downtown Miami without spending a fortune, however.

Hotel could use a renovation and the staff could use some training on not being so rude. But overall it was an ok stay for just the night and nothing more.

The room was relatively clean, but it appears that the furniture and fixtures haven't been replaced in 20 years. The mattress was the worst hotel mattress I've slept in - I could feel every spring in it. There was no phone in the room. It was very odd, but I had little to no cellphone service in the room. It should be called "Hotel Inconvenience - No customer service available." The hotel staff were rude, had an attitude like they did not care. Room was filthy. No chair or desk, or phone. Hotel staff said these were not included. No blanket, not included. Definitely off the list of places to ever stay or recommend.

If you are going to be out of the hotel for most of your time, and you are looking for a clean place to sleep, shower, re-coup, and kind staff then this is a good place to stay. Right next to the metromover. Otherwise, the hotel hasn't been updated in about 30-years, there is no clock, phone, coffee maker, etc., in the room. No working ice or vending […] machines. My major complaint is when we arrived at 3:30 pm we had to wait on line for 90-minutes to check-in because the hotel refused to check anyone in before 3pm during Ultra/WMC week, which I think was a ridiculous move on their part. Absolutely the single worst hotel stay i have ever endured. From the mold growing on the ceiling in the lobby to the fact that their was not a single ice machine in the place that functioned. We had to go to the front desk to get ice which we had to carry to our room in a shopping bag because no ice bucket was provided. The staff were lazy, rude and […] down right nasty. They did not care that about anything and i am amazed that any of these clowns have a job. The pool was closed seemingly for no reason. I have never had an establishment show such disdain disregard for the comfort and needs of these its clientele. I would recommend a cardboard box under the bridge across the street before i would send anyone i know to this travesty of a hotel. I Will be spreading the word on this place to everyone i know. Not a great experience, pool not in working order, restaurant closed, exercise room not available, telephone not answered by staff, worst parking EVER! Parking is in a pay lot across street- after you pay and park you can not take car out or you have to pay again. All shopping is closed by early evening.

The front desk staff are fantastic! The view from our room was great too! This hotel is basic when it comes to linens(no matress pad, for example) and amenities (no coffee maker in your room, for example). Not for a romantic getaway - but a basic place to stay that is somewhat affordable.

The toilet blocked the first day we were there. The phone did not work and none of the safes worked. They fixed it but kept blocking. They moved us to another room, the cupboard door was broken and the safe did not work. They moved us to a third room all in the following day. The breakfast was not contiental. The River Park provides the bare minimum -- a (lousy) bed to sleep on and a place to take a (trickling) shower. The rooms are sparce and very old. There are no amenities to speak of -- no restaurant or room service, no bar, no gym, no internet access, not even a vending machine. The location is odd surrounded by heavy traffic. There are places to shop […] not far but they all close at 4pm including most food places. Within walking distance are some very seedy neighborhoods.
