was in town for monster jam, above average hotel, small problem with hvac unit, seemed too hot or too cold, but not a big deal. morning breakfast was great!! hot coffee and good variety of foods, will definitely come back to this hotel when we come back to indy for future visits

Our overall stay was very nice. Breakfast was amazing, staff friendly and very clean. My only complaint would be the overwhelming clorox in pool area and hot tub area. I understand and appreciate the making sure germs stay low but it needs to be enjoyable as well without eyes and nose burning. It also ruined my siver jewery.

This location was of an average stay. Google map made location more difficult to find than actually was. Fairly close to downtown convention center and stadium. Breakfast was above average. Hotel clean. Staff were helpful and accomadating.

However, the TV guide in the room didn't in any way match the channels on the TV; when I reported that I couldn't find a common network channel, the desk person said they'd had some TV repairs earlier and they must have shuffled all the channels. The breakfast room was overpacked. Evidently the hotel was completely booked. No room to sit down to eat, the staff could not keep the hot food warmers full. Of course, one of the reasons we stay is the free breakfast but this was just a little overwhelming - for staff & guests.

We stayed in a King-whirlpool room. The room had a flat panel tv, microwave, fridge, closet, desk, lounge chair with ottoman, and king bed. Even with all the furniture, there was still quite a bit of open space in the room, which was great. The whirlpool is in a separate room adjoining the main room and has mirrored walls, another chair and small cabinet. […] The bed was comfortable, but there is quite a bit of traffic noise all the time, including at night. The bathroom had a very large counter and large mirror. The shower wasn't great; there wasn't much water pressure. Breakfast was a nice variety with several hot items like pancakes, eggs, and bucuits and gravy. We stayed at the hotel to attend an event at the convention center. The hotel staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. The beds, however, are awful. Hard enough that my back hurt after a nights sleep. Not a bad hotel for the price but when the primary focus of a hotel room is having somewhere to get some rest someone should really invest in a bed that doesn't feel like it was stolen from a prison.

The freeway isn't that far which makes it very convenient to get around. There are restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The complimentary breakfast had a variety of hot items, cereals, and pastries/muffins and a very attentive staff that would top off your coffee and clear the plates.

It was one of the worst beds i have ever slept on.. The vending machines on the 3rd and 4th floor did not work.. Hotel room very loud with the water pipes .. Will not stay here again..

The hotel seems to have renovated recently and added jacuzzi rooms. That was a nice idea but we could hear whenever another jacuzzi was filled or the jets turned on. It was like trying to sleep under Niagara Falls.

Everything was great but the bed but part of that was my own fault. When I booked the room, I was given a choice of beds. Knowing my husband likes a firm bed, I didn't make a preference but he actually agreed that it was too firm. Stayed here during an event at the convention center and was was definitely satisfied with the value of the stay. The breakfast was one of the best I've had at a hotel of this style. Having bacon or ham was such a bonus and greatly increased the value as I didn't have to buy breakfast during the day. The pool and hot tub areas were well kept and a […] great way to relax after long days. The only minor problem was the beds were a little uncomfortable, but that is more of a personal preference issue than an issue with the beds. Overall I'd rate this as a 4.8 out of 5 for the stay and will absolutely be staying here again if traveling to Indy. Lees meer

I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend 2011 (100th Indy celebration). Their website says they are by Lucas Stadium, not exactly it is a $12 cab ride away. The hotel was spotless, and everyone was very nice. Everything was new or nearly so except room TV (no flat screen). I had a small problem with the commode (it rocked back and forth). I reported […] it to the front desk at breakfast and it was fixed before I was finished. The breakfast they provide is very good, choice of fruits, cold cereals, waffles, pancakes, eggs, biscuits, ham, yoghurt, juices, sticky buns, etc. The indoor pool is fine, as is the excerize room (couple of treadmills and a stair stepper). There is a 17 screen movie theater less than a mile away, but you have to walk along some very busy roads that have no sidewalks, very doable but not for young kids. I would recommend this hotel with the caveat that it is about 5 miles South of downtown so plan on needing transportation if that is where you need to go. Lees meer

My stay was very nice. I arrived on a Thursday and requested a quiet room. They placed me on the first floor just behind the front desk, and it was very quiet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Indy metro area.

Upon arrival the staff was wonderful, they got me checked in in record time and everything appeared to be clean and nice. The elevator was extremely slow and at one point I wondered if it was stuck between floors. When I did get to my floor, the walls and carpet appeared to have been last updated in the 80s. The room was close to the elevator and I […] immediately realized that the door was not completely closed. I just pushed it open, no key required. The door did close after I applied some effort. The bathroom was the only part of the room that had been updated since the late 80s/early 90s. The carpet and furnishings were quite old and unattractive. The bed was quite uncomfortable and it took some time for me to fall asleep. The TV was an ancient 26 inch tube model and when moved so you could see it from the desk would go fuzzy. This was our 4th visit to Indianapolis, and on each occasion we have stayed at this hotel. It's close enough to the airport (approx 15 miles) but not in the heart of the city. It's just off I-465 and is easy to find. It's also very conveniently located for our needs which is why we chose the hotel in the first place and continue to return. The facilities […] have been upgraded since our last visit; free wi-fi was only available in the lobby area but has now been extended throughout the hotel. The pool & spa areas are clean and well-maintained and have longer than normal opening hours. There is a supermarket right next to the hotel with plentiful supplies, fast food restaurants within 400 yards of the hotel and plenty of shopping malls within a mile or two down S East St. In summary, I'd recommend the hotel to anybody. The Holiday Inn Express was a perfectly acceptable hotel. The company is generally reliable for mid-cost rooms and this one was no exception. My only concerns, and these are small, are that 1) the room ran of toilet paper one day. I asked the desk for more and got it immediately, and 2) housekeeping gathered and washed the bathroom towels even though […] I hung them up to indicate there was no need for washing, to further the hotel's efforts to be green. This certainly did not make the stay uncomfortable. Quite the opposite. But the hotel should be sure to instruct staff on how they can further the company's green efforts.
