Studio Plus South Bend - Mishawaka in Mishawaka

Upon arrival, I was given a dirty room. This was fixed AFTER my having to call for a front desk representative. I was in and out of the hotel several times during my 2 day stay and there was rarely anyone ever at the front desk. The fire alarm went off around 11pm and all guests had to stand outside in their pajamas with animals and children waiting […] for the fire department. We were told by the fire department (NOT STAFF) that it was a malfunction in the system. My room key card de-activated the day before I was supposed to check out and AGAIN no one was at the front desk to assist me in accessing my room. At check out the next day, there was still no one at the reception desk and I had to leave my key cards on the desk and walk out. I would say this was absolutely a horrible way to run a business and will never stay there again. Lees meer

We were in South Bend for a campus visit/tour of Notre Dame. Unbeknownst to us, it was a 'football' weekend and there was hardly a room to be found anywhere near the university! I was thrilled when I was able to secure the LAST available room at the Studio Plus Hotel. The room was clean but the sofa bed had NO linens and we had to call for sheets and […] make it up ourselves My kids were disappointed there was no pool. The area surrounding the hotel was nice and there were numerous places to get something to eat. The man who checked us in was a bit abrupt and unfriendly, but I was willing to deal with that considering I had secured one of the last available rooms for the night. If all you need is a clean room in a safe area, this is the place . . . but if you want 'she-she' ambiance and exotic nuts and juice in your fridge, get out your checkbook and look somewhere else ... but for us, this place filled the bill! Oh My....this place was not my cup of tea. Very old place. Furniture old, couch in room dirty, carpet in lobby was filthy. Carpet in rooms is warn and dirty. The Bed compfort was TERRIBLE. And I itched all night, thinking of bed bugs because of the carpet and matteress begin so old. My husband and I are in our sixties and when we go to bed we expect to get some sleep. That wasn't the case this time. The room next door had "wild" children (knocking on the wall and yelling) and the room above us had people making noise that sounded like they were moving furniture all night. Had a good stay and would recommend this hotel.

Upon arrival, we unloaded. My 5 year old and I had to clean off the counter and table. I had already unpacked the clothes and hung everything up so much to my dismay I pull back the covers and there is black hair all over the sheets and pillow, to make matters worse a haircomb was by the bed. I had to strip down the sheets and all bed linens. There […] was only one employee who was very nice but did not know really what to do. I got clean sheets and pillow cases and changed the sheets myself. I then had to go to Walmart and buy a blanket because I was grossed out. I was told that I would get a night off of my stay however that DID NOT HAPPEN. Very disappointed and I will run from that hotel again. Lees meer

This hotel is very reasonably priced however you get what you pay for. There were cobwebs in all of the corners, the heating unit was hard to regulate, there was a draft coming through the window, no shampoo, the oven was extremely dirty. It is in desperate need of renovations.

The hotel was very sufficient for our family's needs, it was just a bit outdated and not very contemporary.

Pros: Great location. Close to Notre Dame. Low price. Friendly staff. Cons: Whole floor smelled like smoke, even our non smoking room. "Queen " size bed was actually a full size. Bathroom floor dirty. Shower head broken and sprayed whole bathroom. TV did not rotate and faced off into no where, so not easy to watch from either the couch or bed.

I had traveled across several states in one day and then spent the rest of the day at University of Notre Dame. This hotel was a good value for the little I paid. They were reasonably cheap compared to other hotels in the area, especially when it was such a busy weekend at Notre Dame.
