Best Western Plus President Hotel at Times Square in New York

Bij onze late aankomst in het hotel kregen wij onze kamersleutel. Wij schrokken erg van deze kamer maar door ons slaapgebrek zijn wij toch gaan slapen. Toen wij de volgende dag wakker werden en nog eens goed rondkeken leek de kamer erg op een eenpersoonskamer. Het bed was erg klein, te klein voor 2 personen. Bij meting een twijfelaar! Dit was toch anders […] dan het queen size bed welke wij ons hadden voorgesteld. Er was verder weinig ruimte om onze koffers neer te zetten, geen stoel of ruimte in een kast. De badkamer was helemaal klein, met een douche ipv een bad. Over het uitzicht maar niet te spreken. Met goede moed gingen wij de stad in, perfecte lokatie om alles te kunnen zien. Bij terugkomst toch maar wat van onze kleine kamer gezegd en hup we werden gelijk omgeboekt naar een grotere kamer. Dat is dan wel weer goede service maar hoe makkelijk het ook ging, wij hebben het gevoel dat we door onze late aankomst in een klein kamertje achteraf zijn gestopt. De volgende kamer was wel helemaal top, groot queen size bed, genoeg ruimte voor de koffers, bureau en stoel (ook wel fijn) en een grotere badkamer met bad/douche. Lees meer

Mooie locatie, erg duur, kleine kamer, slechte tot geen internetbereik, geen ontbijt, kamers erg gehorig, geen minibar, klein bed. Dus alleen locatie is prima!

I'm posting this to save others from the horrible experience of staying at this hotel. I arrived at midnight and got a room on 6th floor. The bathroom smelled awful of mildew or mold. Oh, and there was an actual, live, saw it with my own eyes, mouse in my room. I called down to the front desk and was moved to a smaller room on 2nd floor. I was completely […] freaked out at having seen a mouse so while leaving lights and tv on all night, I saw a roach in the second room. I got about 1 hour of fitful sleep to prepare for an all day conference the next day with a new employer. The next morning when I asked for my cell charger to be retrieved from room 1, I was informed that it was occupied by some poor unsuspecting soul who unknowingly slept with a mouse. Do not stay here! I seriously considered going across the street to the crown plaza and sleeping on a couch in their lobby. Lees meer

Other than the staff at the front desk and having to have a manual to turn on the shower the overall experience was enjoyable. The adjoining restaurants are great. Front desk staff however has a lot to be desired.

This hotel is ideal for theatre buffs and night owls. Right smack in the middle of the theatre district, close to Times Square and Restaurants.

Hotel staff were not helpful or friendly. Check in was efficient room was very small but had everything we needed. There was a mouse in our room and we were moved to another smaller room staff were not apologetic. There was mice in the second room also. The hotel room was very spacious. glad I booked the Jr. suite, because the basic rooms are very tiny!! We were on the 11th floor and the elevator was broke and would not go above the 10th floor, so we either had to wait about 15 minutes for the only other working elevator or walk 11 flights. They do not light up hotel sign in evening ver easy to miss it. Otherwise very clean and convenient place to stay. I would recommend staying there

Bathroom falling apart, run down hotel, poor service but very good location and nice lobby. And pretty cheap. I guess I knew paying that little should have led to very low expectations. Dust bunnies in the hallway. Maid cart and vacuum cleaner left in main corridor by the elevators at all times. Furniture dusty. At least the room was cleaner than the fithly hallways.

Convient that it was in Time Square.

We were definitely not impressed. Their recent attempt to remodel was a shame. Cheap decor... Scuff marks on the walls... Most dissatisfying was the room cleanliness. Bathroom had hair all over the floor. Carpet needed a good vaccuum. It's hard to give a maid a tip when it doesn't seem like they clean.

It is really just a place to crash. Staff was attentive. Fixed a tv issue within 10 minutes. Room was small. Clean. Modern decor. Windows actually open but I didn't pay for a view and didn't get one. It was ultra convenient to Times Square. I would book again and recommend to friends. Hard to find cheaper in that location.

Fabulous stay at 60's Presidential inspired hotel. Perfect location 1 block from Times Square. Safe, clean, fun hotel. Great restaurants next door. Couple of blocks from Broadway so great to stay while attending shows. Great friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay next time in New York City and have already recommended it. Thank you!!

Location of the hotel near Restaurant Row, in theater district, is excellent. Room small but clean and comfy though air con did not work. Towels were removed and not replaced; housekeeping was swift to respond to requests. I'd book again.

You can tell this hotel is older and has been redone. It is a nice, smaller hotel. Service is great. Very friendly and you can't beat the location. Looks and feels a little worn done, not quite the "super deluxe" feeling you get with the nicer hotels.

Terrific location, very comfortable beds. Could turn a little bit noisy at nights and Internet wouldn't work on the 12th floor, but that could be a blessing If you go on vacation. I will definitely return to this hotel again

Best western Hotel at Timesquire in Newyork is one of the v good hotels ive been to in Newyork. The rate is resonable, the location is v good and secured and the services is excellent. Im glad i was there.

Ithe room we stayed the battery (air conditioner) was leaking and the carpet was very wet. The problem was not fixed though we left a note for cleaning ladies asking to fix it.

My boyfriend and I travel to New York frequently. We thought we would give this hotel a try. It was the absolute worst place we have ever stayed... in New York or anywhere in the world for that matter. And the staff was indifferent, always preoccupied...and extremely unprofessional.

Great hotel if you want to be @ Times Square & around all the action.

The location of this hotel is ideal for theatres and for a lot of subway lines. The hotel is in very good condition since the renovation. The rooms are still small but comfortable. We had a room on the street which was very noisy. Next time we will request a room not on the street.

This hotel was in a great location, but the rooms were VERY small and my bathroom smelled like mildew. Not the greatest place I've stayed but the location was perfect.

Our room was really small and some of the fixtures were slightly worn. However, it is in a fantastic location--very walkable to all of the Theater District, 5th Ave., Rockefeller Plaza, etc. If the weather's nice and you're up for walking, it's definitely easy to get down to Greenwich on foot. This is a reasonably priced hotel in the heart of where I wanted to be -- the Broadway Theatre District. I could walk a block to the TKTS booth to get discounted tickets to shows and every Broadway theatre is within walking distance!! The front desk staff was very nice and offered directions and advice when I needed it. Two drawbacks (and you'll see […] these in other reviews as well!): sometimes the wireless connection in the hotel is very slow...had I been reliant on my laptop, I'd have been angry, but I was on vacation! Second, and my biggest complaint, was that the water temperature in the bathroom was inconsistent. I have a huge pet peeve about hotels with low water pressure and that was NOT an issue here..great pressure in the shower...however, it seems that anytime after noon, there isn't much hot water available. Morning showers were no problem but trying to take a shower after a long day walking around the city was less than pleasant...luckily the weather was warm or I could have caught a cold! Luckily, I am a morning shower person...if you're one who wants a hot shower before bed, this may not be the hotel for you!! Lees meer

Once we arrived in NY we went straight to our hotel room. Once we opened the door we smelled mold and there was dust behind the door. The bed was ok but the sofa bed sheets were not changed and it was very uncomfortable. We found ants on the night stand and the air condition wasn't working well. I asked to change our room but were not able to do so […] but the manager did send a nice man to investigate the problem, they did send someone to change the sheets and the next day they changed our room. Bathroom door did not lock and the air conditioner was very noisy. Wasn't a pleasant stay. But some staff members were truly nice and understanding. Lees meer

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It was walking-distance close to Times Square, Hell's Kitchen, all the Broadway theaters, several subway stops, and lots of shopping. The room itself was very, very small, but adequate. The bed was comfortable, though it was smaller than the size we requested and pre-paid for. It was old, and you could […] see it was old. They tried to dress it up with edgy decor, but it didn't work. The common areas were a claustrophobic dark purple and small. If all you're looking for is a place to sleep and shower for a few hours a day while exploring Manhattan, then this place is decent for the cost. Lees meer

The lobby and hall ways are purple and will remind you of a brothel. The junior suite we stayed in was clean and functional but also very cheesy in the Presidents theme decoration, yes, we even had a Bust of George Washington light in our suite and Mt Rushmore on the wall. The hotel shares a block with a NY Fire Engine company so you will hear plenty […] of sirens close by. The location is right in Times Square and the theater district, which makes it convenient. The neighborhood is great ,especially if you walk to the West into Hell's Kitchen and affordable, quiant neighborhood restaurants.. The maid service at this hotel was first rate. I was very happy with the hotel location,so close to every thing,subway,bus station,theatre.The hotel staff were very helpful.The only thing that didnt work well was the internet connection in the room was very slow,but it worked well in the lobby. Overall i was pleased with the room.The water pressure was low though.The cleaning lady was great she gave me extra pillows.and was very pleasant.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room was so small that my wife and I barely had room to move around the room. The shower took at least 5min to reach a not so cold temp while the water backed up in the tub. The drainage system is this hotel apparently needs some updating. Toilet would clog. AC unit had what appeared to be live wires hanging […] out at unit's base. Our view was someone else’s window 20 feet away of the same hotel. Paint in the restroom was peeling off the walls which can only lead me to wonder if the apparent water damage from above could have created mold. Great location!!!!! Lobby is a bit small, but the rooms are nice! Very comfortable bed. The air-conditioning needs a little time to get used to. Even at "low cool" at night we woke up in the middle of the night freezing. The unit itself is also fairly noisy.

It was awful. We' moved immediately! don't know where that 5 million dollar renovation went!!!!

When staying in New York, your hotel room is really a place to just crash and this is perfect just for that. The wifi is almost impossible to catch, so I would recommend bringing your own 4G or LTE service if you need to work or use the web from your room. cramped elevator, narrow hallways....but room adequate, comfortable.....walking distance to Times square.

OVERALL OUR STAY WAS PLEASANT AND HAVE NOTHING TO SAY EXCEPT FOR THE BATHROOM WHICH WAS MIROR DEFECT IN THE BATH TUB OF THE WATER WHICH USE TO NOT DRAIN OUT WHICH AFTER CONTACTING THE HOUSEKEEPING WAS RECTIFIED ALSO PLEASE HAVE THE THE SOFA BED MATRESS CHANGED AS THEY WERE WORN OUT AND THE OUTER COVERING FROM THE SOFA BED WAS TORN OFF FROM THE SKIRTING […] THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL WAS PERFECT ALL IN REACH AND HAD NO PROBLEMS OF ANY SORT ALL THE HOTEL STAFF WAS VERY PLEASANT AND EFFICIENT AT THEIR WORK AND FREINDLY Lees meer

The hotel is literally steps away from all theaters and good restaurants, supper friendly front desk staff, room was so so.

If all you want is location, location, location, this hotel IS THE PLACE for you. If however, you hope for a modicum of comfort... The elevators are very small for a 24 story hotel and in general one is out of service every morning for the staff to use. With the number of guests in the hotel, if you are on a lower floor, getting an elevator down can […] be a challenge unless you take an up elevator first (yes, that's what we resorted to). When you get off the elevator the hallways are VERY narrow and VERY hot. The rooms are sufficient. That's it, sufficient. However, in our room the water temperature could not be adjusted...and neither could the thermostaff. So, after a 20 minute run I was left to cool down in a 115 degree shower and a 92 degree room. Leaving the room was no help as the hallways were in the upper 80s themselves. Getting into the crowded elevator for the ride down was an experience. Sweat poured from my body as I went into the street to finally cool off. The shirt I wore for my morning meetings looked like I had taken a swim. However, you are 100 yards from Broadway. I checked in, after waiting 30 minutes till 3pm, only to walk into a room that hadn't been cleaned. The bed was unmade, trash was on the floor. I called down and was told to come downstairs to get a new room. No apology. Nothing. Just what room was it? Here's your new set of keys. So, I head back up. Start to settle into my new room, which has been […] cleaned, when all of the sudden, without a warning or a knock, the door flies open. Chief of the cleaning crew--he says, "Oh, the room's already made up." Closes the door. Scared the hell out of me. Again, no apology. Nothing. The room was baking. I turned on both convector units, which wheezed, but didn't produce even cool air. Both had the doors broken off their control panels. I went to turn on the window unit. Nothing. Not plugged in. I moved a table, found a three-prong plug. The AC roared away, but really wasn't equal to the task of cooling the good-sized room. After that, the stay was fine: it was quiet; nice view. But I wouldn't return. Too hot and no sign of hospitality training. Mistakes happen--it's the not doing anything about them that makes the difference between a good hotel and a mediocre one. Lees meer
