Slechte prijs/kwaliteit verhouding, ze serveren hier waarschijnlijk het slechtste ontbijt van London. De ligging was wel heel gunstig.

Een hotel in de 'hotelstraat' Sussex Gardens. Er zaten zeker tien kleine hotels naast/tegenover elkaar in deze straat. Helaas was de service bij de receptie als bij het ontbijt slecht. Er werd nauwelijks een woord tegen ons gesproken. De kamer was klein, maar OK. De bedden waren echter niet comfortabel, en redelijk klein. De ontbijtzaal was duidelijk […] te klein. Eenvoudig net gerenoveerd hotel, voor alleen slapen, douchen en een eenvoudig ontbijt is het prima.

Zeer tevreden over hotel, zou ik nog een keer naartoe gaan. Zeer nette, schone kamer en hele leuke buurt dichtbij Paddington station met allerlei restaurantjes en ontbijtzaakjes, vlakbij Hyde Park.

The owners/managers are hideously rude. Tiny, but clean rooms. Convenient location, near Paddington Station. The owners' bad behavior more than offsets the advantages.

The overall hotel is decent for the price. Understand that a single room really means that -- very small, single bed, tiny bathroom (reminds me of a cruise ship bathroom). But overall clean. Amenities are really sparse -- they only replace the towels every other day, but don't tell you that, so if you leave a towel on the floor, it will get taken -- […] but not replaced. I finally had to ask for more soap as I'd used up the one bar they provided. They don't provide bathmats or washclothes either. You also have little control over your environment. In winter (when I've mostly been there), the heat is shut off during the day, they have it on only in the evening. There is a small air conditioner in the room, but it is shut down as well, so you can't even run the fan. Internet service (which costs extra) was spotty as well. Very tiny room, but great location to Paddington Tube and bus lines. Easy to walk to the sights of London, but nice quiet location. The hotel is dated and the room was HOT, but thankfully while in London you don't spend much time in the room.

Only one negative comment; the heating in the bathroom was far TOO HOT and impossible to turn down. It was enough to overheat the whole space. We had to sleep with the window open, in March, otherwise we would have tossed and turned all night.

Olympic House Hotel is a small hotel, run by quite nice folks. The rooms are pretty small, wi-fi is not free of charge and they do not offer ironing boards to use in the room. From Paddington, there is a straight train line to Heathrow (£19.00 for a 15 minute-ride). Definitely, a great bargain. Rooms are clean, and well kept. The hotel staff were very helpful and the location was two blocks from paddington station. The room was tiny and spare but that was to be expected. My one complaint was that the third party provider they use for the internet didn't work for me at all. After one evening of fruitless attempts (I needed the internet -- I was there for school) I was told […] to download a different browser. This is a somewhat basic hotel, but does everything right. Good location only 5 mins walk to Paddington station - for underground and rail services and connections to Heathrow. Some shops / pubs / cafes nearby. Satellite TV in the room. Would stay again.

This hotel is a no frills bare bones place that had 3 beds in one small room. The bathroom was tiny. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was not great but it was free and served the purpose. The desk staff was very friendly but they kept running out of beer - of couse on the two nights I felt like having one. The elevator is new and works great. […] The room was a little too hot but we could open our window and it appeared that they had A/C but we were there in the winter. The hotel is in a pretty noce location and close to Paddington Station. I stayed for almost 2 weeks, they are still doing some updates, so very minor construction hassles. Rooms are tiny but clean, staff is friendly, Internet provider is awful (go to local coffee shop for free wifi). I'd stay again probably only for personal travel, not business travel. Two things: I had telephoned the hotel on the day I made the booking and asked for and was told I would have a double room. However when I arrived I had been allocated a twin room. The receptionist had a record of my phone call. They eventually moved us to a double room on the 4th and final night On a lesser point there were very few English stations […] available on the TV. I stayed at Olympic House Hotel in January 2012, its a budget hotel with minimal facilities. Whats surprizing is breakfast closes at 8:30 am after opening at 7:30 am. Its not a hotel i would come back again to, given the minimal facilities. The TV doesnt work, no Tea/Coffee or drinks in the room. Room was a bit cramped. Absolutely no place to leave an open suitcase. All had to be closed and stood up, in order to walk across the room. Two Twin beds jammed together (with seperate bedding) to substitute for a double bed? Seriously? Absolutely no vanity space in the bathroom. 10 British Lb. per nite fee for internet access was quite steep.(roughly […] equivalent to $15 American currency). Several streets near by are jammed with boutique hotels similar to the Olympic House. Also a very modern hotel near, which we visited and found to be well appointed, similarly priced, with no fee for internet. If I had planned farther ahead, could have done better. The staff was adequately friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was a joke. Stayed 5 nites, didn't bother to go back for breakfast after the first day. Location was close to the Paddington "tube" station, a few restaurants and pubs, etc. Generally a quiet neighborhood away from tourism. The typical London small boutique hotel but very friendly family-owned and staffed. I always try to stay here even though there are similar places nearby. But here, the rooms are always clean, the flat screen TV is a nice convenience, and the staff is always ready with a quick smile and friendly advice. I look forward to my next visit very soon!

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was nice and clean and the staff were kind and serviceminded except from just one person - unfortunately I think she was the owner actually! She was in a bad mood, not polite and you couldn't get a smile of her face. Lucky for her that she had such a nice staff! I just love this hotel.. Small but comfortable & very clean rooms. Great staff!!

The room are small but its clean. Don't go when its cold outside, the heaters don's work during day. We stayed in December, the room was freezing. As we asked to put on the heater, they refused. So only recommended in summer.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Olympic House Hotel. The condition of the hotel was immaculate and very well maintained. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nice breakfast service. Within walking distance of major trains and the underground transit, as well, bus stops were adjacent to the hotel. The area boasts a wonderful selection of restaurants, pubs and shops all within a few blocks including a coin laundry. Nearby Hyde Park was a beautiful spot for running and walks each day. I spent about a thousand pounds + on this hotel staying a week and was treated terribly. I had to complain for about 4 days regarding an internet voucher they sold to me that never worked. Will not bore you with the details of that nightmare story. My first room was so small and had no AC, I had to pay more to move to a double room. In the first room […] the internet was slower than dial up, and they charged for it. In the 2nd room you could only turn on/off the AC by calling the front desk, and they charged for it as well. The location of this hotel was great, just a block from Paddington station and tube. Lots of reasonable cafes nearby, and the neighborhood felt very safe. The room however was very very tiny- barely room to walk around the bed, and the bathroom door knocked the bed when it opened. The bathroom was even smaller, like a economy cruise ship bathroom, or […] smaller. No washcloth or shampoos included, so be advised. Bed sheets for the full sized bed were too small (maybe intended for a twin sized bed). Breakfast was minimal, and the same every day : toast, two choices of cereal, hot egg (still in shell), pastry, jams, orange drink, tea or coffee. Olympic House offers good value for your money. If you've stayed at a few different hotels in London, you know that quality and price are not necessarily connected. At Olympic House you get what you pay for: reliable service, great location (between Paddington station and Hyde Park) and a small, simple but clean and comfortable room. For the traveller interested in a convenient stopping place en route elsewhere this is a very good choice. A short walk from Paddington Station. Modernized facilities, actually having a lift (elevator), a very pleasant breakfast room -- all things not usually found in this genre of London hotels. For this you can overlook the smallness of the room.

This hotel is not a very friendly place. I was suprised to find an additional charge for air con. (per hour of use) and the woman behind the desk told me to open the window if the room was too warm. The sheets were torn and the desk clerk was not very herlpful when I asked about use of the phone. He made me go bacvk to my room to use the phone and then […] charged me for use of the phone at the end of our stay. The neighborhood is a bit rundown and there is not much to do in the area. A excellent choice for someone who wants a clean, quiet, well located & well managed hotel in a vibrant area of London. Rooms are small but larger than cabins found in top criuse ships. In convenient and quite pleasant location, with a little park close by. Continental breakfast fairly basic. Normally prefer not to be in basement room, but this (single) room was well equipped and comfortable, though looking out on an enclosed yard.

This could possibly be the worst hotel in which I've ever stayed, anywhere in the world - rude and unhelpful staff, none of whom could speak English; small, dirty room; inadequate heating; miserly breakfast. Overall a nice place to stay. A smaller boutique hotel, not a big chain. Clean room, nice bathroom and shower. Most of the staff was helpful. There was an older lady that was at the desk in the morning who wasn't helpful at all. I asked her to break a £5, and she just said no and kept reading her paper. I was trying to make change to tip the room service […] woman. A man overheard and came to the desk and opened the drawer and found enough coins for me. Not a huge deal, just glad I didn't need something more important. The internet is £10 per day or £30 for a week. We ended up just using wi-fi while at some coffee shops. Overall we enjoyed our stay. If we had to go back I would stay there again. It is a 5 minute walk to Paddington station which is great for catching the tube, and train to Heathrow. About a 27 minute ride to and from Heathrow. We stayed there for 8 nights in September, 2011. Good: Location was great for us, since it is 1 or 2 blocks from Paddington, and we were able to take the express train to Heathrow which was very easy. Paddington also has access to several of the tube lines, which made it very convenient to get anywhere in the city without too many hops. Not so good: The room (302) was extremely small, which I guess is typical of most London hotels, at least in its category. My wife and I could not pass by each other without having one of us get on the bed to let the other by, and we are not large by any stretch. There was also no room to place our luggage, which then REALLY made it difficult to move around. As for the bathroom, it was very clean as I mentioned before, but VERY tiny and really not much space to place toiletries. Also, not too big a deal, but there wasn't a bar in the hotel. Would have been nice to have when my wife is getting ready! All-in-all, I would probably book there again if I was traveling alone for business, but would likely ask for a bigger room (if they have any), or book a different hotel if traveling with my wife. Near Paddington Station, close to entre of city and all the sights. Took train from airport to hotel (required a transfer at Victoria station, which made it a bit of chore with luggage, but much cheaper than taking a cab). Rooms at back are extremely quiet. Close to lots of cafes and pubs, about 40 yards away. It's on a street with dozens of small Edwardian […] type hotels. Has a large talking elevator. The people at the reception were very hard to talk to. There was a mix up with our reservation that resulted in us having to pay an extra 40 pounds. The receptionist seemed very upset over this when we were the ones that had to pay extra. The room we had to pay extra for was extremely small. I could barely open my carry-on sized luggage all the way. […] the breakfast was average. On our last morning we woke up to some strangers entering our room! tiny rooms & 4 TV channels

We stayed here during some warm days and were dismayed to find that it cost to turn on the air conditioning in the room, and once it was on it could not be adjusted at all. You had to call the desk to have it turned off. Do they charge for heat as well?

Very clean and well-maintained; staff were very helpful. Quad room had adequate space for 4 adults, but could use some dresser/storage space. Fortunately there was a fifth bed space we could use for suitcases. There are no extras (no room fridge or microwave; AC costs extra and we were discouraged from using it; Internet costs extra and signal was too […] weak to be used in our room; ditto for mobile signals); free breakfast was very good and service was excellent, but only offered for a short time that did not always fit our schedule. Internet in the Room with los Signal only, therefore 10£ was high. Surrounding very good. Breakfast continental, no fruits, so I brought fruits from nearby supermarket.

This hotel is within easy walking distance from Paddington station. Room was small but clean and bathroom was clean and good water pressure. Definitely would recommend to people spending more time sightseeing and just need a place to sleep and shower.

Ideal location if visiting Hilton Hotel Metropole on Edgeware Rd. I checked in at 8.30 a.m. and was told to leave my case in the corridor by reception. The room number was put on it. I thought it would be taken to my room but it was still there when I came back to the hotel at 10.30p.m! The room was clean and comfortable with ensuite. TV and hairdryer […] but no tea/coffee making facility. Breakfast very basic with processed ham, processed cheese and hard boiled eggs. There were cereals and toast.
