Hotel Belleclaire in New York

Alles waa top aan dit hotel, medewerkers vriendelijk en hulpzaam. Locatie Top en de kamers waren geweldig ruim,schoon en netjes. Als ik weer eens in New York ben zoek ik niet meer verder boek meteen Belleclaire!!

Kamers zijn netjes en comfortabel. Buiten de kamer is er echter niet veel behalve een lobby. De omgeving is ook prima: goede supermarkt om de hoek waar je even wat te drinken of lekkers kan halen, in de buurt een paar restaurantjes en ontbijtgelegenheden en vlakbij de centrale lijn van de metro.

Belleclaire ligt in een leuke buurt met alle voorzieningen en bezienswaardigheden binnen handbereik. Het hotel is wel wat gedateerd maar er word aan een renovatie gewerkt, waar wij overigens geen last van hebben gehad. Er waren wat kleine ongemakken maar die werden snel verholpen. Voor de prijs is dit een perfecte hotel op een mooie locatie.

Zondermeer een prima hotel, in alle opzichten. Goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Het ligt in een leuk buurtje met een grote variatie restaurants waarvan vele Europees of Aziatisch georienteerd. Hierdoor voel je je toch nog een beetje thuis, ook al zit je in N-Y. Prettig is dat Central Park maar 5 jogminuten verwijderd is. We hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad in NY. We hadden een kamer geboekt met een gedeelde badkamer. Je deelt deze met drie kamers,wat verder helemaal geen problemen opleverde. het enige nadeel was voor mij 1 keer dat ik naar het toilet moest en de badkamer bezet was. Jammer dat er op de hele etage geen ander toilet is. Voor de rest is het een heerlijk […] hotel. De kamer en badkamer waren heel schoon en het lag in een gezellige buurt vol winkeltjes en restaurantjes. Vlakbij Central park en er zijn twee metrostations in de buurt. We werden correct behandeld bij binnenkomst, moesten wel een half uur wachten en bedankten ons daarvoor uitbundig. De kamer met 2 eenpersoonsbedden was schoon en ruim. De bedden lagen heerlijk. Wel kwam er geluid van de airco (dachten we) en uit de koelkast, maar dat wende snel. Het was niet heel erg storend. De badkamer deelden we met 2 andere kamers. […] Die werd elke dag schoon gemaakt, overigens een heerlijke douche. En elke dag schone handdoeken. Oh ja, nog èèn ding....we draaiden de knop van de kraan van de wastafel eraf, die werd meteen gemaakt. No problem. De 2e lift werkte niet, lastig...maar we mochten evt. ook gebruik maken van de goederenlift. Dus al met al zeer tevreden. Lees meer

Slechts 2 blokken van een metrostation waarmee je direct naar het zuidelijkste puntje van Manhattan kan. De kamer is simpel ingedeeld maar wel erg netjes, 2 persoonsbed, wastafel en LCD TV. Per drie kamers wordt er één badkamer met toilet gedeeld, ook die wordt dagelijks schoon gemaakt. Wanneer er gezocht wordt naar een goedkoper alternatief is dit […] zeker een erg goede optie! Prima hotel, niks op aan te merken

De suites zijn ruim en comfortabel (deze hadden wij de eerste nacht). Daarna hadden we de ooorspronkelijk geplande eenvoudige kamer, we deelden een badkamer met twee andere kamers, maar je had wel zelf een wastafel. Was prima.

Via hotels.com vonden we een hele mooie aanbieding voor dit hotel in het rustigere gedeelte van Manhattan, New York. Ontbijt in het hotel is niet mogelijk (er is geen restaurant), maar dat is geen enkel probleem: er zijn tal van leuke en betaalbare opties in de directe omgeving van het hotel. We hebben gekozen voor een Superior King room met een heerlijk […] royaal bed en een prima badkamer. Het personeel in het hotel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Na het uitchecken kun je de bagage veilig laten opbergen in een storage room in het hotel. Met de metro op loopafstand (tip: koop een dagpas voor metro en bus voor slechts $ 8,25 - prijspijl zomer 2009) zit je in een mum van tijd in hartje Manhattan, maar wanneer je door Central Park naar het centrum wandelt, is dat zeker geen straf! 2 weken vakantie in dit hotel doorgebracht. Ideale locatie, dicht bij central park en centrum manhatten. Nette kamers, redelijk ruim en aardig personeel. enig minpuntje was dat er een paar dagen onder ons raam een renovatie bezig was aan het hotel en de bouwvakkers waren 'vroeg' aan het hakken en zagen.

Zoals anderen merkten ook wij dat slechts 1 van de 2 liften kon worden gebruikt . De draadloze internetverbinding was te zwak en de receptionist wist niets anders te bedenken dan het telefoonnummer van een hulplijn te geven! Lokatie prima. Er wordt opgeknapt.

Prima hotel, prijs-kwaliteit uitstekend. Schoon, schone handdoeken, goeie en vriendelijke service. Let wel op: als je bij de receptie vraagt een taxi te reserveren krijg je geen reguliere gele taxi, maar een limo-taxi! Een ritje hiermee naar het vliegveld is twee keer zo duur...

Extreme construction, room slightly dirty (in corners/chipping paint, etc), very dated bathroom and the hardest part was the cold, cold water shower I was forced to take because I couldn't wait to let the water warm up adequately. All staff were very nice.

I must admit, the hotel room looked very nice from the website and upon arrival, I was not disappointed. Nice sized room with hardwood floors, comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. However, the elevators we very cramped as it barely held 3 people each with one bag of luggage each. The hotel was pricey for the amenities. The air conditioner sounded like a landing helicopter all night. The hair dryer had one option: burn. There is no food service, only coffee and breakfast bars in the morning. All of the service people were extremely nice.

Location just off Broadway is very convenient, comfortable walk to Lincoln Center and ample restaurant choices in area, easy walk to Central Park. Room was sparely furnished: bare faux wood floors, no pictures or drapes, which was a little unsettling when we first arrived. However, king sized bed was comfortable, room was spacious for New York, comfortable […] chairs and desk. First morning we purchased a breakfast voucher for a nearby cafe, which we would not do again - inexpensive but very limited choices. Parking was an issue both coming and going - hotel has valet parking, but when we arrived there were no spaces anywhere near the hotel to unload, there was no bellman at the front door and my husband had to circle the block several times while I went into the hotel to find a bellman who eventually took charge of the car. When we left, in spite of being told it would take ten minutes to get the car, we waited an hour. My husband and I needed a place to stay only for one night and near the highway to get uptown and this was the perfect location and hotel for that. The room was surprisingly big for 2 adults, was clean and very modern--the only downside was the washroom which was fine size wise but obvuously in need of a makeover to match the rest of the modern room. […] The lobby was under construction but dont need fancy place to sit as you are barely in the hotel. The hospitality room was a nice touch to get water in the evening, hook up internet etc. I would definitely consider returning. Lees meer

The Belleclaire is in the heart of the Upper West Side, so you can shop at Zabars, Citarella and other local favorites, and jog or walk in Central Park. Like most New Yorkers, you'll also be trading roominess and modernity for those conveniences. Old-style radiators are noisy, and bathrooms could use an update. the room was extremely hot -- our only option was to crank an AC unit to high that did not work. In the middle of the night, in a sweat, we called maintenance, who broke open the window. Nice bed, small room, the right price in the right location, pleasant staff, has most amenities one wishes. Parking is expensive. a large shower, but no tub in the basic room I rented.

Very clean, helpful staff, little noise, and safe location convenient to subway and Central Park. Comfortable beds, too. Excellent value.

This hotel is currently undergoing a major renovation. I was not informed of this when I booked. I was given an upgrade, which was appreciated. The room felt a bit dingy, there was no extra seating, no where to put belongings. The bathroom was tiled with a dark green tile, a closer look, and the mildew was evident. One day the beds were poorly made, […] and the next one of the beds wasn't made at all. There is alot of construction going on in the neighbourhood and it is very loud. simple, clean hotel close to everything.

I was disappointed about the lobby renovations but it didn't affect our stay - and the temporary guest lounge was nice. Our room had a strong alcohol/chemical smell when we first checked in but it went away by the time we returned to the room. The main complaint I had was with the window air-conditioning unit. The hotel accommodated us early, which was appreciated. Our first room had a double bed instead of a queen (which we had requested), but they moved us to a room with a king bed within 20 minutes. i wish i knew it was under construction, there was no lobby and only half of the elevators due to construction. Nice place but not during work.

Unassuming location with the front entrance sort of hidden out of sight from the street. Comfortable walking distance to Central Park and the Museum of Natural History. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful! There was some construction going on in front when we first arrived so we asked for a room away from the noise and we were […] very accommodated to that request. We received a quite, lovely suite with a deluxe bathroom and separate living room area. All very spacious! Gorgeous furniture and comfortable kingsize bed, cushy linens and pillows, w/a fold out couch in the living area for our teen. The hotel offers a nice lounge suite with free newspapers, a computer (free access), light "eats" and drinks tea/coffee/ice water and a workout room. We have stayed at the Belleclaire several times in the past, and had an adequate-sized room with functioning climate control and TV. This time, however, the air contioner was so noisy it was impossible to watch TV or carry on a conversation with it on. The sound on the TV dropped out, and this continued despite an attempt of hotel to fix it. The bathroom […] was so narrow, that it was very difficult for even one person to turn around in it. We liked the hotel a lot. Stayed for fice days. Only problem was the lobby area under construction, and the temporary room for computers and coffee. But once this remodel is finished it will be very very nice. The staff was great.

Location was great but place under construction. Smelled and was small

We've stayed in several hotels on the upper west side. This one is under construction at the moment (spring 2012) but the street noise on the Broadway is horrendous, couldn't sleep at all. The rooms are nice, reasonably big with comfortable bedding, but the bathroom wasn't very clean when we checked in and the noise from the street makes it extremely […] uncomfortable. Perhaps if they got better windows... Staff was not helpful, early checkin impossible, awkward setup with baggage storage and "guest lounge" on second floor - at this price per night I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel. Room was clean & comfortable. Two blocks from the Metro made getting around easy. Lobby was under construction while there so it was a bit cramped but when that is completed I'm sure it will be nice & open As for the staff they were extremely nice & very helpful with out being over bearing or fake.

Our original room was too small for 2 people. The next morning we asked for, and received, an upgrade to a larger room at no additional charge. The only problem we experienced was a slow drain in the shower/tub. They had it unplugged within an hour. Great location, great staff and all in all good experience.

I was on the 2nd floor with a nice corner room overlooking Broadway. The windows did not close tight and the noise was like being right on the street below. Very difficult to sleep.

It is a renovated old hotel. The room we had was small but nice. The hotel lobby was under renovation and small. However, the staff was friendly and efficient. Its classics also gave me warming feelings it is also in a great neighbourhood, close to subway station. We enjoyed having breakfast and shopping in local stores.
