Red Lion Hotel Salt Lake Downtown in Salt Lake City

We had an amazing stay here!! The shuttle woman was the nicest lady!!! She took us where we wanted and also gave us her card to call when we were ready for pickup!! Front desk also very nice and the bed in the king room was GREAT! Thanks red lion!!!!

I must say that the staff was very helpful and accommodating. I truly felt that I was important to them and they appreciated my business. The hotel is always busy with airline staff and they still managed to make us feel like I was a VIP. They have transportation to Amtrak, Quite nice. No free Breakfast. Had special...not too good. A la carte was expensive.

There were three of us ladies sharing a room for a quick training in downtown SLC, and we were looking to save some money. We were very pleased with the comfort of the room, the ability to have a roll away bed - that was fairly comfortable especially for the value price! I appreciated free parking! I also like how the fan noise was constant versus stopping […] and starting like so many hotels. All in all if you are looking for a good deal and not some luxury hotel, Red Lion is a great fit! our window seal in the room was broken so it was freezing in there and we told the front desk and nobody did anything about making the customer happy.

Great Service! Drop off & pick-up service was great value

Super comfy beds. Hotel diner was great. Location was perfect for a one night stay over and a liesure walk to the Jazz game. However, there seemed to be a lot of drifters in the parking lot area.

Always a fantastic place to stay.

Hotel accomodations were reasonable considering the price/night. Clean bathrooms, beds, floors. I had a comfortable room. But, the parking lot was not very desireable. Every morning I would see broken glass from breakins of vehicles. At times I had to come back late at night, bad lighting, homeless people around parking lot, not safe for a woman or […] anybody. Very few entrances to the hotel after hours, you had to walk around one entire side to get to an access. This was a great concern as I did not want to risk a break-in of my rental car. Lees meer

I have a very nice stay (5 days) at the Red Lion. Very close to the Trax (lightrail system). The Staffs were very friendly and helpful. I'll stay here again if I visit Salt Lake City.

The staff was rude and not helpful at all. It took me 15+ to check into my room and the staff didn't explain where my room was or where to park. The hotel shuttle was parked in my way and I couldn't move my car around the shuttle. I had to ask the staff to move the shuttle and it took an additional 10 minutes. My hotel room was located by the elevator […] and it was extremely loud. The heat in my room was very temperament as well. I would not recommend this hotel to others. Lees meer

Hotel is in a great location and it was clean. he blow dryer in my room broke and I called room service and someone was there at my door with a new one within a few minuets. I was very pleased with the prompt service. Hotel was clean and bed was comfortable. I would stay here again.

We were passing through Salt Lake City and needed a hotel to spend the night. We had a dog with us. Red Lion was affordable and conveniently located (just blocks from the I-80). Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Always nice when you know the freeway system. Red Lion has a great location for your overnight stay when going to the city to run errands. Its a central point to all of my running around . Theres also something about the rooms. Its the only downtown hotel in Salt Lake that I sleep well in. When the price is affordable its the only place I want to stay […] at in Salt Lake City. We wanted to take a short get away from the kids and life for our 6 year anniversary. Red Lion was such a nice stay and so relaxing! We had a great time and everyone was very nice

We had heard that the hotel was "okay", put where pleased to find it a solid 4 out of 5. Our room was first rate, with comfortable bed and flat screen TV. We where pleasantly surprised to even have a cooler and mico wave! It is a few blocks from Temple Square, but we enjoyed our walks and if we wanted to ride, the hotel has free shuttle service. I found my stay at this hotel to be very comfortable and I would definately stay again. The rooms are clean and the hotel trieds to make sure that your stay is as best as it can be. We had an issue with our neighbors smoking and the disgusting smell coming into our room. The hotel sent security up on two different occassions to speak with our neighbors […] and even gave us free breakfast for our inconvenience. The front desk staff was also very helpful and friendly with providing information about the hotel and the area. We got a good deal on the Mountain View room but it was not that great of a visit. We got there around 7 pm and there was only 1 girl at the front desk. I felt so bad for her because she was answering every call while being chewed out by upset customers. She was very nice to us, though. We got to our room and the sliding door on the closet was off […] the guide and just laying against the top shelf. We could fit it back on, but still... We ordered room service (there wasn't a wine list but that could have just been something weird with liquor laws, I don't know) and then realized there were no pens to sign with in the room, and the poor waitress who brought it up didn't have one on her either. So......I walked down to the restaurant with her. She was gracious and apologized a lot but I don't know why they didn't even have a pen/pad of paper in the room. The price was good, but we probably won't be back. For how nice the people were, it wasn't worth how disorganized everything seemed. Lees meer

Our room was clean, the hotel was nice, very reasonably priced, especially compared to nearby hotels. I would stay there again. The sky bar is closed (does not exist anymore) they should update their website.

Stayed for work, great location for work. A variety of restaurants available.

the hotel is due for a remodle our room heater fan was so loud that we had to sleep with the heater off. the hotel offers no movies, the shower water had to be turned on the hottest setting to have a warm shower.. good luck!

Had a King-Premium room. Was 1/3 size of Queen room in another hotel near the airport that I'd been in. Room was HOT. Took two days before maintenance could get it fixed. Bathroom fan whirred ALL the time - they couldn't fix that. Another lady staying there said someone had entered her room during the day; although nothing was taken, the toilet had […] been used and left unflushed. One day when I left in the afternoon, my room was not cleaned, but the door was not quite locked; I felt as if someone had been in. The desk staff, although nice, does not have the feeling of professionalism as at the previous hotel I'd been in. However, being downtown was very nice. The room, although small, was nicely appointed. I would stay there again, although not in Rm 428 during the summer. It would be unbearable. Lees meer

I travel for business all over. I want a room that's clean and ready when I arrive, a decent gym, helpful staff and a location that's convenient. Plus, I want a good deal. Is that too much? This place was great - plus free internet that actually worked! I'm very pleased and will stay here the next time I travel to SLC.

For the price, the Red Lion was great. Airlines crews stay here.

We will defintely be back n hopefully sooner than later!!!!!

Nice Lobby--warm and inviting. Computer available in Lobby. Restaurant--front booth area-very cold and drafty from windows. Food good. Service good but not enough smiles. Ice cold plates in Buffett serving line cooled the eggs to ice before sitting down. Shuttle service is excellent. Prompt and friendly. Free city trains available only 2 blocks away. […] NICE!! Had a great time! The hotel was older, but well maintained. Service was excellent. Really appreciated the hotel shuttle to the airport. Location was downtown. Plenty of conveniences nearby. Booked with hotels.com, which was simple, and time-effective. THANKS

The hotel staff were not at all friendly and acted as if I were putting them out when I checked in. The room was not clean.... in fact, as I was preparing to leave in the morning, I moved the ottoman and there were a pair of someones nasty underwear sitting there. Obviously no none vacuumed the floor. I didn't look very close when I checked in because […] it was late and I went straight to bed. I assumed that the Red Lion would maintain a higher level of cleanliness. The more I looked the more disgusted I became. The bathroom was dirty. Now I worry that they might not have even changed the sheets. I have stayed in a lot of hotels that were less expensive that had quality, cleanliness and courtesy. I will not stay there again. This was a great hotel. It has private balconies with a view of downtown Salt Lake City. We enjoyed staying here.

I had one dislike and most won't have a problem - they have a lovely dinining area but each time I have been there it has not been open. I ate in the bar or cafe. The bar was nice for a bar. The cafe was not a cafe it was like 50's fast food ambiance no tables just booths or counter space. I look forward to eating dinner in a area that does not look […] like my kitchen, but a dinning room. That is just me - other wise stay was wonderful. Lees meer
