Prima ligging, 6 minuten met shuttlebus van Airport. Leuk zicht op zowel Mnt Hood als Mnt St. Helens. Perfecte aanrijroute met behulp van navigatie. zowel vanuit Oost als West.
Ligging.
The Governor Hotel ligt in het centrum van Portland, op loopafstand van O'Bryant Square en Pioneer Courthouse Square. In de buurt liggen ook Jeld-Wen Field en Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Dit hotel voor zaken biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een restaurant, een koffiebar/café en een bar/lounge. In openbare ruimtes is een draadloze snelle internetverbinding gratis beschikbaar, terwijl de accommodatie over een werkstation beschikt. De accommodatie beschikt over een een businesscentrum. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere een fitnesscentrum, gratis kranten in de lobby en een 24-uurse roomservice. Parkeerruimte is tegen betaling beschikbaar, maar beperkt. Dit is een rookvrije accommodatie.

Ten westen van de rivier de Willamette biedt de binnenstad een veelgeprezen skyline, straten die uitnodigen tot een wandeling, en een levendige kunstscene. Bezoekers kunnen belastingvrij inkopen doen in boekhandel Powell's Books en op de Saturday Market, een waar paradijs voor liefhebbers van kunst en nijverheid. Er worden plaatselijke festivals georganiseerd, zoals Cinco de Mayo en het Oregon Brewer's Festival. Andere attracties zijn de Oregon Zoo, het chique Pearl District en het uitnodigende Pioneer Courthouse Square.

We loved our stay at the Governor Hotel. We enjoyed its history and its lovely old restaurant. We were too cold in our room but they helped us by giving us a space heater and a complimentary breakfast, much appreciated. We are planning to come again for the night of May 16 and look forward to that.

"Hotel Governor Portland Oregon - Great hotel"
March 2011. Staff was wonderful, very helpful with directions and tips on how to get around. Beautiful hotel....make sure to read the history, then check out the tiles, murals and other features mentioned. Valet parking ( they bring the car around very quickly). Walking distance to Pioneer Square, Powell Books, shopping, restaurants. Hop the MAX or […] Trolley {free to a large bit of the city}. Ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant both mornings and it was stellar. Perfect Eggs Benedict. Complimentary, homemade biscuit & jam to tide you over while awaiting your meal. Housemade maple smoked bacon, yuuuumm, all breads fresh baked daily, melt in your mouth pancakes and the prices were very reasonable. Eggs Benedict, coffee, juice, tip, was $14ish. Starbucks is through the lobby for those in a rush. One thing that would have been nice was to have had the fireplace in the room turned on. Turned off for the season? Lees meer

Excellent hotel and location. The staff is super helpful and you are close to everything downtown....I would stay here again no problem!!!

The service at this establishment is superb. They could not have nicer or more accomodating. The room was very clean - no odd stains or anything. The only complaint I would have is that they need to upgrade their TVs to flat screen and not the old school types with lines flickering through the movie you want to watch. This hotel has character and comfort--things that don't always go hand in hand. My room was HUGE, which was nice. I had a great place to work, along with a nice bedroom and bathroom. And the locatin was terrific--close to all sorts of public transportation stops. I will definitely stay here again when in Portland.

I found the Governor randomly searching Hotels.com and picked it on an overnight stay in PDX. Turned out to be a great turn of luck as the hotel was immaculate, the crew were fantastic and the location couldn't have been more central for someone visiting just for one day. Highly recommended.

"Expectations Met"
We spent a very good weekend in Portland. Staying at this hotel was a great decision. We had a deal that included parking and that made the whole experience worthwhile. Spending an additional $ 27.00 per night on parking would have been a deal breaker. The staff were outstanding in all of our interactions. "The Governor"
Very nice hotel and a helpful staff however there was a problem with the heat in our room. We checked in late in the evening. It was cold in the room (64 Deg F) so we turned the thermostat on to heating mode and went to bed figuring it would warm up overnight. Woke up in the middle of the night to 61 Deg F temp and no extra blankets anywhere in the […] room. Didn't really want to deal with housekeeping or maintenance in the middle of the night so we just dealt with it and told the front desk in the morning. They sent up a mechanic and I assume they fixed the problem but we were a little disappointed that they did do anything to make up for the discomfort (i.e. partial room credit, free breakfast, etc). The location and ambience of the hotel stood out and we would probably stay there again for those reasons. Lees meer

Excellent hotel quality--high class.. I was happy with everything in the hotel, especially the good sunlight shades in the rooms. The were a few shady people walking around on a Friday night, but a safe neighborhood.

Worst service I have ever had from a hotel should have went to to the super 8 would have been treated like they want my business. As well the manager must not have liked the way we were dressed although we were wearing nicer clothes then her because she got a service guy to come to our room and take the basket of candies and drinks while we were in […] the room so we couldn't charge it to our room as well put a block on all room service. Most courteous and helpful staff anywhere. Everyone remembered our names for entire stay. Jake's Grill in lobby. Fabulous food, great drinks, and fab staff! Just squeeze in and join the 3-6 happy hour! Close to shopping. Easy in and out to freeways.

Great historic hotel, clean quiet and the best gym in a hotel to date, I travel alot too! Jakes was a nice place to eat, great food, friendly staff and stayed wtih the historic theme. Overall one of my favorite Portland hotels and the location could not be better

Very nice staff and accommodations right downtown. Our only slight gripe would be our initial room assignment was very small and on an interior section and the "view" was not a view at all. We paid to upgrade to the Jr Suite, and were glad we did. So the savings we realized form this site were wiped out by the need to upgrade. "Room was not what was advertised"
The location of the hotel was excellent and the room was clean; however it was not what was advertised. We had booked two room and requested they be next to one another. They put us on separate floors. The picture showed a much larger room with a fireplace. It did have a fireplace; but it did not work. The room was also cold and drafty.

The Governor has tons of Character and Charm. Although it's a historical hotel, the condition of the building was outstanding. They really maintain everything well and keep it very clean. We stayed 3 nights and only ventured out with the car for 1 afternoon. Otherwise, we enjoyed all the shopping and dining within walking distance downtown. Truely enjoyable. […] Extremely comfortable room. One of the highlights for us was Jake's Grill, just downstairs. We dined there 3 times and the food, service, and setting was outstanding. Really nice old hotel, steeped in history. Close to several restaurants, the Crystal Ballroom, and other sites. Hotel itself was very comfortable, though the toilet sits incredibly low, so people with leg problems may have difficulties with it. Otherwise, top notch!
"Save your money!"
It looks good, but it does not hold up. I thought an earthquake was in progress the first time someone walked outside my room. Really!!! The bed was shaking and moving like crazy. Woke me up several times. Pick another hotel.

The most comfortable bed I've slept in anywhere. Beautiful building and room. Great view. Everything worked and was super clean. Huge tv. Ipod dock. Amazing staff. Really, really quiet. Walk to anything. All around perfection.

This hotel is a nice old hotel in the center of the downtown area. We walked everywhere, including the Pearl District, the river, Powell's Bookstore, great restaurants and shopping. The only slight disappointment was that we were told we were going to get a room with a great view and ended up with a terrible view of the back of some other building. This is a lovely hotel in a great spot. We wanted to spend some time in downtown Portland and found many interesting things to do and see within walking distance. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Our room was comfortable and well appointed.

"The Governor Hotel - Portland"
A great hotel in a handy spot - plenty of transportation nearby. They didn't have a fridge in the room but brought one up 5 min after we requested. Don't forget to tip the bell hops though! I did and got some tude, I later compensated for it. Poor dudes probably don't make too much! Room 615 (Queen) was awesome!

The Governor Hotel is very well located near shopping, bars, and restaurants. The furniture in the rooms is high quality. The rooms are stocked with everything a traveler might need. There is a bar and (mediocre) restaurant downstairs, as well as a starbucks. The staff is helpful and courteous. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location, service and comfy bed! This quiet hotel was perfect for our 1 night stay in Portland on our way down the coast. We walked to Powell Book's (a must see), the downtown Japanese Gardens (closed), and Voo Doo doughnuts (fun but long lines!) although you can take the city transit system for free right outside the front door of the Governor. […] It's not 1/4 mile to the International Rose Gardens, tho, like some reviews have said - thot we could walk there but had to drive. Worth it to see the gardens, tho. Staff was very friendly and helpful with maps and suggestions. The Governor is a beautiful, old hotel and definitely a 4 star. The only negative I found was the air conditioning vent blows right on your face in bed all night (your hair blows even when set on low) - woke up stuffed up. It's easy to take the wrong elevator since the hotel is divided into sections but eventually figured it out. Nice computer area in the lobby. Parking is $27 but you can ask for it any time you want. Also have to ask for ice at the front desk but they will deliver it to you. We would stay there again if in the Portland area. Lees meer

"Loved this beautifully refinished classic historic"
I can't say enough great things about The Governor Hotel. It's a historic hotel in Portland across the street from my all-time favorite yarn/knitting store Knit Purl. Great in-house restaurant and bar as well as a short walk to Henry's Tavern another great restaurant. It's also close to Nordstrom and Brooks Brothers. Great service. The Governor is ideally situated so that Powell's Bookstore, several museums, the river, great restaurants, and even a cupcake store and a make your own yogurt dessert store were within easy walking distance.
