Wij verbleven in de nabij gelegen 'bungalow' kamers waar het zeer fijn vertoeven was. Elk met balkon of terras. Deze kamers zijn wel wat aan vernieuwing toe. Groot nadeel, zeer gehorige kamers! In het hotel kan je heerlijk eten, ook het ontbijt is super lekker met héél veel keuze. Een heerlijk zwembad. Kortom, een aanrader!

Erg naar ons zin gehad, gratis gebruik van de sauna was erg fijn. Alles zag er heel mooi uit en was netjes voor elkaar. Het meisje dat ons hielp bij het in- en uitchecken was echter niet heel open/vriendelijk, ze heeft maar een paar zinnen tegen ons gezegd, waarvan er geeneen bedoeld was om ons te verwelkomen/fijne dag te wensen/vragen of wij nog vragen hadden/etc. Voor de rest was alles goed.

Leuke buurt, vlak bij het centrum met veel goede restaurants. Wij hadden de suite die heel smaakvol was aangekleed met originele oriëntaalse meubels en details. Vriendelijk personeel. Aanrader.

Thon Hotel Brussels City Centre ligt in Stadscentrum van Brussel - Grote Markt in Brussel, dicht bij City 2 Shopping Mall, Belgisch centrum voor striptekeningen en Kathedraal St. Michel. In de buurt liggen ook La Grande Place en Manneken Pis.

Thon Hotel Brussels City Centre heeft een healthclub, een sauna en een fitnesscentrum. Een draadloze internetverbinding is beschikbaar in openbare ruimtes (tegen betaling). De zakelijke voorzieningen bij deze 4-sterrenaccommodatie zijn onder andere een businesscentrum, vergaderruimtes en een limousine- of autoservice. Dit hotel voor zaken heeft een restaurant en een bar/lounge. Het personeel kan op verzoek een conciërgeservice, hulp bij excursies/tickets en een huwelijksservice regelen. Rondom de stadskern van Brussel en de meeste toeristische attracties loopt een hartvormige rondweg. Het centrum binnen deze rondweg bestaat uit twee aparte helften. In het westen bevindt zich de laagstad, een wirwar van middeleeuwse straten rondom de Grote Markt, een enorm, met kinderkopjes bestraat plein omringd door rijk versierde Vlaamse gebouwen. In het oosten vind je de nieuwere en meer aristocratische hoogstad, een gebied met paleizen en parken, indrukwekkende museums en gotische kerken.

Echter vond ik het personeel niet erg gastvrij, we kregen niet veel informatie toen we bij de balie waren en de informatie was ons ook niet echt duidelijk. zeer net hotel goed eten ik was te vreden
bij iedere 'flush' van een toilet was dit hoorbaar in onze kamer. dit bij de receptie aangegeven en een andere kamer gekregen. schoonmakers mogen wat beter hun best doen. we vonden namelijk lange haren in de kamer en badkamer. in 'spits' tijden, zijn 4 kleine liften niet genoeg. ruim 5 min wachten tot je naar je kamer kan als gevolg. personeel = vriendelijk […] en behulpzaam Lees meer

"Het Thon hotel dichtbij het centrum van Brussel"
Een bij binnenkomst goed ogend hotel. Het geheel wordt echter te niet gedaan na contact met het personeel van de receptie. Deze hebben een onpersoonlijke houding en doen hier door afbreuk aan het hotel. Jammer dat je ze nodig hebt! Dit heeft dusdanige indruk achter gelaten dat wij het hotel niet aan anderen aanraden.

Zeer luxe kamer, met gescheiden wc en badkamer."kitchenette", ruime koelkast, grote breedbeeld tv. Parket, ruime kasten. Strijkijzer met plank, broekenpers. Föhn in badruimte. De ramen kunnen evt. geopend worden. Verwarmiong of koeling middels airco instelbaar en schakelbaar middels eenvoudige, duidelijke thermostaten. Voldoende liften. Publieke parkeergarage […] onder hotel, met korting voor gasten. Indien gekozen: royaal ontbijtbuffet. Ruime eetzaal Zeer nette verzorging van kamer. Internetaansluitingen op kamer. Internet in lobby. Helaas bleef één van de kleppen voor de verwarming hangen, waardoor de verwarming gesmoord moest worden middels een deken. De sproeier van de douche was aan vervanging toe en op z'n minst een zuinig type. Een pluim voor de leuke kleine attentie die spontaan op de kamer stond wegens een verjaardag. Lees meer

Het hotel voldeed aan mijn eisen en was gewoon prettig. Een tip is wel dat de loungebar en ontbijt ruimte iets sfeervoller zou kunnen worden aangekleed. (verlichting in meer warme tinten, loungebar misschien met bijvoorbeeld een kamerscherm mooi en knu maken.

Uitstekend gelegen hotel met prima parkeermogelijkheid. Vanuit het hotel loop je direct de Rue Neuve in wat voor mij heel prettig is. Service is voldoende en kamer is ook prima. Geen overdadige luxe maar gewoon alles wat je nodig hebt. Ontbijt is ook prima. Enige minpunt is dat ik laatst niet meer van de parkeergarage direct het hotel in kon, de intercom […] deed het niet waardoor ik voor een dichte deur stond. goed georganiseerd hotel, op zijn Amerikaans, vriendelijk en efficient. goede kamer, kom zeker terug. shopping centre Brussel op een paar honderd meter. goede parkeerfaciliteit.
"Fine for an overnight stay"
For the cheap price and nearness to the train station, it wasn't bad. We were able to get the room really early, which was very nice but the room wasn't properly cleaned (you could tell by the empty shampoo/soap containers).

Yes, as strange as it might sound, we paid for this hotel but we didn't stay at it at the end. Our family's friend who born in Belgium, moved us to another hotel due to the fact that he do not want us to stay at that neighbourhood. Apparently, according to this friend of ours, the area called Rogier is the worst area in Brussels. It is not a violence […] area or anything, but it is just getting to many homeless people gathering in that neighbourhood. So our friend paid for another hotel for us to stay, and we would like to share this story to you all before you make the decision. We should have asked for his suggestion first before making the booking though. Believe the hotel itself is very brand new indeed, but the area that we should think twice also... Lees meer
"Good for business travel"
This hotel would be fine for business. For vacation, I would have liked something with a little more luxury (for lack of a better word). The rooms are very spacious by European standards and also very clean. We were on the 28th floor. I've read that higher floors are better here. But, the fitness center is on the 29th floor and so I awoke at 7am every […] morning to the brisk and loud thump of guests on the treadmill. My costume went missing from my luggage, I have sent an email to the hotel to tell me if they found anything, but I had no replay yet. I think this is not professional from the hotel management. Also during our stay it was noise from drilling as they are maintain some of the rooms. They should not do this work early in the morning and they must understand […] that quests are staying in the hotel for a rest. Lees meer

"Confortable stay"
Stayed here whilst visiting the Christmas markets, great location right next to stop rougier which accesses most of Brussels and there underground system cheap and easy to use!. Hotel very clean and comfortable, only downsides are plastic cups in rooms and the breakfast is €23!!

I was not happy with the cleanliness of the room floors; the gym was very bad, half the equipment broken or old, definitely not something they should advertise. I would have appreciated to be told about the city tax when i checked in, not on my last day.

We were lucky because there was an offer on with the breakfast being half price which was well worth it (didn't think it would of been worth the full price though). The hotel personnel was very welcoming and during the weekend they had half-priced breakfast which was amazing. The room was very clean. Around you can find a very nice neighborhood and the tall skyscrapers. Everything is very close: parks, city center, metro.

Short summary: Clean and tidy. Safe neighbourhood. Helpful staff with good English. More or less modern room. Very close to metro, short walking distance from Gare du Nord (airport express train), shopping mall with supermarket (2-3 minutes), and some restaurants and subway shops (1-2 minutes). Easily 4/5 in my book. Stayed there for 4 days in November, […] in a standard double bed room. Friendly and helpful staff, spoke English well. Clean and tidy hotel. OK neighbourhood, felt completely safe. Clean, modern room. Sufficient lighting, visually clean room. Ok sized bathroom. Only a small glass pane separating the bathtub / shower from the rest of the bathroom, so you end up squirting some amounts of water around the bathroom, but this was only mildly annoying. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel, so can't comment on that, but felt that 20+ euros it was on the expensive side. Didn't try the exercise room or sauna either. Should mention that the hotel has 29 stories and 4 elevators, so at peak hours (8'ish) it can actually take some time to get an elevator, despite them being somewhat fast. The hotel is 20 meters from the closest metro station (which houses lines 2 and 6, if I remember correctly), and the metro is a good means of transportation. Gare du Nord is a short (5 mins with a large suitcase) from the hotel (the train to the airport leaves from here). Takes about 15 minutes normal walking to get to Grand Place (not far by anyone's definition), and crossing the road takes you into the main street going north-south in Brussels, with lot's of restaurants and shops. An ok Grill is just next to the hotel. A shopping mall with a large supermarket is 2,5 minutes from the hotel, and there's also a small immigrant convenience store across the road, where there's also a good Subway shop. Lees meer

A nice hotel, very good location. Unfortunately, there wasn't any wardrobe in my room that was quite uncomfortable. The "relaxation centre" was under maintainance when I wanted to use it. There wasn't any soap dispenser working, so wasn't possible to take a proper shower. And the whole floor was under water.

Not exactly in the city centre, but a little walk away, however it is very close to the Metro and there are many restaurants within walking distance. Probably geared more towards the business traveller, but for the balance of price, quality, room facilities and a good breakfast offering, it is certainly not so bad!

The Thon is a good value for money. it is close to the subway, and just one stop from the north railway station. the furnishings are simple, but the room is quite large (for european standards) and the bed is comfortable.

I have stayed in this hotel before and was happy to return. Unfortunately on my second visit, it was let down by the breakfast.Fried tomatoes not replenished and cold ones left out. The hotel room was quite small for two people. It was not possible for two people to pass by the end of the bed at the same time. On more than 1 occasion the creamer or sugar was not replenished in the room. Cups in the bedroom were plastic & I expected better from a 4 star hotel. On the plus side the hotel was convienent to explore Brussels.

This Hotel is fine but not outstanding. It is right in the centre of Brussels near the main train station, but not so near that you can hear the trains! I found it difficult to find a nice restaurant nearby, but there was plenty of places to eat such as a chain steak house or Dominoes Pizza. Breakfast was expensive and not good value but bar next dooe […] in shopping centre was OK and much less money. We drove to the hotel and ot was a nightmare to foind as the street given as the address wasnt in my sat nav and didnt seem to be on the street anywhere either. Stopping with a car is impossible but there is an unloading place halfway down to the underground car park round the corner. It would have been helpful to have been told that! Lees meer

BE CAREFUL! they take a deposit promising to pay the full amount back and then during check out try to charge an extra 7 euros per day and tell you they have taken this from your deposit!!!! (even though the room was paid in FULL via Hotels.com).... We stood there and argued and made a scene in front of new visitors and so got our deposit back in full […] eventually :) Air-con did not work, bed sheets were not changed, TV did not work..... "Nice location - Bad beds"
I stayed at Thon hotel in mid-June 2011. It is conveniently located in central Brussels, but the rooms are 3-star level: small stuffy rooms; the bed mattresses are very thin, soft and spongy -- not comfortable at all. The air conditioning is also very weak -- had to call the maintenance man twice to tinker with AC. Finally, there is no free wifi anywhere […] in the hotel -- not even in the lobby, and the internet service (per 24 hours) is too expensive. Lees meer
"On step up from budget- not good for price"
A point up from the Ibis. For luxury price I would have expected some luxury. This is a simple no frills hotel. Everything is extra. 2 local calls for less than a minute each were 11 Euros. Parking was14 Euros a day and for internet was 9.95 euros. Breakfast 22 Euros! They have an electric water heater for instant coffee. The cups are disposable plastic! […] The rooms are small for 2 people and there is little room for bags. No amenities except for liquid soap and very thin towels. Beds were a bit soft for me. The location was very good walking distance to the center and shopping street. Easy to walk to the north train station and take the airport train. It took 15 minutes to get to the airport. Noisy pipes day and night (even with heating/AC off); expensive Internet; very expensive breakfast if not included in package. Room was not restocked at check-in (15:30); Hotel café bar closed until 17:00. Hallways looked like storage rooms, dirty whitewashed walls. The elevators were slow to respond (not good in a 27-story building). I wouldn't have […] minded the quality were it not for the four-star rate I was paying. The gym is scantily equipped, with just one jogging machine. Way overpriced for room given its condition. Walls of room were filthy and battered. Mattress was like a trampoline, but sheets were clean/fresh. Previous occupants new shoe boxes and other remnants not removed prior to my arrival. Overall, not a bad hotel, just not good value.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a weekend break. The hotel was fine - a good location for transport links (5-10 mins walk from the Gard Nord), and the main sights (10-15 mins walk to the Grand Square). The hotel staff were friendly, the reception area is nice, and the hotel is surrounded by decent restaurants. On the downside, the room was […] small-ish, the bed was hard, the mini-bar was a bit dirty, and there were a few scuff marks from other people's suitcases on the walls (that might bother you, it didn't bother us). Also, the elevators took ages, and were really small! Still, these are all petty gripes, if I go to Brussels again, and am looking for a business-class hotel at a decent price, I will use the Thon. "Weekend break in Brussels"
Ok hotel. Had stayed at the nearby Crowne Plaza Grand Palace hotel a few weeks earlier and chose this one to compare. Room was about half size of CP and bed was very very small (1 double bed which was made of 2 single beds). We'd asked for a twin room and thats what we were given. We were on the 17th floor and the room was looking a little shabby. Peeling […] paintwork, leaking shower/tub. However, the place was clean and had basic soap/shampoo in the bathroom (wall mounted dispenser rather than mini bottles). Gym on top floor is free for all guests, and has small but essential equipment. Sauna was out of service. Internet was 15Euro per day, breakfast had a deal for 11 euros per person at the weekend.
