The Inn at South Padre ligt in de buurt van het strand in het hartje van South Padre Island, dicht bij Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark, Isla Blanca-park en Andy Bowie-park. In de ruime omgeving liggen ook Reddingscentrum zeeschildpadden en South Padre Island Convention Centre.

The Inn at South Padre heeft een buitenzwembad, een spabad en een seizoensgebonden buitenzwembad. In openbare ruimtes is een gratis snelle internetverbinding (draadloos en via kabel) beschikbaar, terwijl de accommodatie over een werkstation beschikt. "Perfect location...not so perfect room."
Overall I have to say my stay was good but the room needed some major overhauling in places. The baclony door didn't stay closed unless you locked the deadbolt. There was mold and a moldy smell in the bathroom around the tub. One of the lights in the room didn't work. The light over the jacuzzi was partly haning out of the ceiling. There was no hot water to shower in the evening,shower handle fell off, front desk said it was because of full hotel but we took cold showers again in the a.m. Noticed a change in owner, it used to be Howard Johnson. Hope this gets resolved because everything else is convenient.
Swimming pool was very dirty and breakfast was cold and limited but room was comfortable and staff was very friendly.

"DISAPPOINTED ..."
We checked in at almost 12 mn after driving 6 hrs, but very disappointed with the musty smell of the building itself. Lights are busted as soon as you get in to Rm 308, they gave us a handicap accessible bathrooms although we don't need one. Bath towels are all looking unclean and seems very old. You can smell molds inside bedroom, light fixtures are […] broken, couldn't access internet at 3rd floor as according to front desk, it's been a problem. We're in there for a convention whole weekend, we requested to be moved to Rm 111 on first level next morning so we can easily have good internet signals (kids need to do homeworks for school). Rm 111 is just same musty smell as first one we had last night. Toilet bowls are leaking every time you flushed. It was a nightmare, we decided not to stay another night eventhough we already paid full till Sunday morning. We headed home Saturday evening, not a very pleasant hotel experience for my family. "avoid, avoid, avoid"
the staff at the front desk were very help at most times. the rooms were ran down with a musty odor. my family wanted to check out as soon as we opened the door. however, I didn't think we would find someplace else. I used the coin laundry whenever we were wet from beach however I had to wait behind all the hotel linens. Why are the housekeepers using […] customer washers? We only had 2 towels in the room when I requested additional towels for showers I was told they were washing, I would be one of the first to get clean towels this is at 5pm, so I went to dinner with my family expecting towels when we got back. They were not there. I waited till the next morning asked for some towels none were received. I was forced to go by some towels at a store in order to shower. they clean the rooms with a detergent that has a strong odor and I had an asthma attack within 5 minutes of walking in everyday, I don't even have asthma. The rooms were decently clean. but the linens and decor including carpet needs major improvements. The pictures of the hotel are not quite what they seem. The breakfast was only cereal, waffles, bagels. Bring food with you if you plan to attend. The kitchenettes have no dishes so if you plan to cook be prepared to bring your own, and no dishwasher. "MISLEADING NAME AS A RESORT BUT ACTUALLY AN INN"
IT IS ADVERTISED AS A RESORT. BUT WHEN I WENT THERE IT WAS AN INN. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED SINCE IT IS NOT A RESORT. AND ALSO I FOUND SOME STAINS ON THE BED WHICH IS VERY VERY DISGUSTING AS IT WAS SOME KIND OF SEMINAL FLUID LEFT BY THE PREVIOUS OCCUPANTS.

Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and continental breakfast was ok....hotel is on the south end of the Padre Island but close enough to good eateries...would stay again.

It was an ok place if u don't plan to stay all day in the room! I know it was close to the beach where we wanted to be and right down the street from the clubs! It's an older hotel but will do if u r just going to sleep there and that's it!

For the amount of money it costs to stay on South Padre Island, this is not the hotel to pick. It was not a bad hotel but there were some qualities that I did not like. The WiFi internet connection was always very poor. The elevator gave you an uneasy feeling because it jerked into motion everytime. The place is kind of beat up (all the doors have dents […] in them) but it was generally clean. One of the biggest disappointments was that I never got hot water in my shower. Not once, for the whole stay. My wife said she got SOME warm water but I never got that luxury. It wasn't the worse thing ever because of the heat in summer time but I would have enjoyed picking my own shower temperature. Other than that it was ok. The lady that checked us in at night (Leanne...I think) was very nice and helpful. P.S. If you need to wash or dry clothes, go to CVS or Blue Marlin to get your cleaning materials. DO NOT waste your time and money trying to use their soap and dryer sheet dispensary. If you can even figure out which side of the machine will give you which product (they aren't labeled), it will just take your money anyway. Lees meer

my fiance and i recently had a weekend getaway at the howard johnson, south padre island. at the check in, the staff was very friendly and helpful, they even suggested things to do. the room was nice and cool upon arrivial. the vent in the bathroom did not work. the bed was bit stiff and the tv would go out sometimes. but who cares about the tv when […] your at the beach? my only complaint about the hotel was the checkout. the checkout tine was at 12, yet, at 9am im awaken by the knocking of house keeping. When i first arrived to this hotel the entrance was so pretty and the staff was really nice in the front desk!!! When i checked in the room was decent but i still think it was too expensive. The appliance in the room need an up update. The location is great close to the beach and right by the bay which has great food. I was surprise that I only had […] 2 towels one being small in my room and when i called to request towels they gave me attitude and told me they would see what they could do about it. I then called an hour later to see if they would be able to give me another towel and they said they were washing them.. They were very rude so that surprised me.. Over all it was a good hotel with a good location, room was a bit dirt ,but nothing that I could'nt live with.

The hotel staff was very nice and accommodated us well. The first room I was assigned to had a flickering light in the restroom, was missing a hairdryer, refrigerator, desk chair, and small sofa seat; you could see the blank space next to the t.v. armoire.Went to front desk and assigned me another room, which had a shower with an acrylic seat, didn't […] look too clean or neat, sink didn't have a cabinet so I guess it was for a customer with special needs. My cousins were in an apartment room with two bedrooms and a small kitchen. The bed comforter had lots of loose threads, so glad no babies were going! The shower had peeling paint on top, The deckj outside was not finished, you could see the roof's paint, didn't have any tile on it. There was no curtain on the dining French doors to where the sofabed was being used at night, not very safe practice, would've been nice to have some curtains or at least colored film that prevents view from outside to front. No towels on bathroom when arrived. Requested them same day but didn't drop them at our room. Until the following day we had to pick them up at front desk. Swiming pool ready late on the morning at 11:00am
"Could use some cleaning"
Great location but needs some cleaning.
my room was supposed to have a refrigerator, but it didn't. I had to keep my food in an icechest the whole time. The soap dispenser didn'T have any soap on any of the 3 floors and the dryer on the 3rd floor didn't work. "Howard Johnson Resort Hotel"
Loved it. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. My kids loved the hot waffles and cold apple juice. Our hotel was also pet friendly. The pool was clean at all times. Best of all, my whole family had a blast. Thanks. I'm definitely coming back here again.

My wife and I think it was abit expensive for the condition of the hotel. You could tell from the condition inside that the hotel was very old or maintained very poorly. The location was okay as far as being near things to do on South Padre Island. It was across the street from the beach which was nice. Unfortunately for the price we rate it as a 5 […] out of 10. The staff were very nice , but the hotel itself was older than it looked on the website, and it needs to be sound proofed. The people above us were so loud.

besides waiting 30 minutes after check in being at 3:00 p.m. it was a GREAT hotel!! the King size bed with jacuzzi is the way to go!

"Only a couple of problems"
Negatives: 1) We were given a room that already had a hotel guest staying in it. You can imagine how embarrassing that type of mix up can be. 2) The jacuzzi wasn't functioning. 3) The phone in the hotel room didn't work. 4) The 3rd floor hallway had no air conditioning Positives: 1) The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. "HoJo (South Padre Island) Short Walk to the Beach"
Pleasant Stay. Concern with refrigerator - but they swapped it out for us! It's not "the Ritz", but for the price it was certainly acceptable. Front desk staff was nice. Comp breakfast needs a little help...ran out of everything, and needed staff to handle the guests. WiFi didn't work in the back of the hotel, but was fine up by the lobby.

Good location and hotel layout. Rooms need some attention especially in terms of spraying. Saw two unwanted roaches which I had to kill and left me concerned about the cleanliness. "Memorial Day Weekend"
I have stayed at S. Padre before and knew not to expect the hotels to be pristine, however, service speaks volumes. Our first day there, the maid came just as we were changing into our swim suits to clean. We asked for 10 minutes to finish, but were told if she didn't do it then, it would not get cleaned. Being half-dressed didn't give us much choice […] so we took clean towels only. The second day there, we were leaving as the maid came to clean, which she did, however, she had run out of towels, so we did not get any. We figured they would bring some up later, but they did not. We called the front desk, and were informed towels would be brought up. After an hour, we decided to leave for dinner afterall. When we returned, no towels had been delivered, so I went to the front desk, where the attendant was playing solitaire. He didn't seem too sympathetic, so I conveyed my desire to take a shower. I finally got some clean towels with a half-hearted apology. If you crave good hotel service, skip this one, folks. Lees meer
"itchy body"
our room was not like i expected. there were bed bugs or something in our bed because i kept feeling stuff bite me. we had 2 queen beds. one made my body itch all over, but the other bed was ok. i laid my own blankets on top of there sheets. the hallways were very stuffy feeling. the hotel needs to be updated.

It was a great place to stay. Very convenient to many surrounding restaurants, clubs and shopping. The staff was wonderful and we had a clean room. The restaurant behind this hotel was wonderful as well. We highly suggest go off the strip, it is amazing what you will find.
