Lakeway Resort and Spa in Lakeway

I do not like the extra fees charges to use the pool or to order a movie too many fees that we were not informed about. the carpets in the rooms were dirty and full of stain all over. there were insect on the balcony, such as wasps and flies , I was unable to enjoy setting in the balcony without a wasp rooming around.

We stayed at this hotel for my best friend's wedding weekend. We went a few days early to try and get some much needed R&R, but unfortuntely, the hotel did not make much of this possible the first couple of days. Our first room was not clean and the second room was seemingly great...at first. It had a nice view and a quiet location. At 2:30 in the morning […] we had to call maintenance because the A/C did not work. They sent the security gaurd/maintence person up who did get it to work again. The next night...same thing at 1:30 in the morning. This time they just gave us fans and tried the same trick from the night before. It didnt work. They finally moved us to another room the following day which was clean and the A/C worked. I was surprised they offered nothing as compensation for two nights of little sleep in a poorly maintained room. I had to ask for them to write off charges at the end, which they credited all our food charges as the room was pre-booked online and paid for already. The staff: The front desk staff and maintence crew are very nice and extremely helpful when asked. The hotel is by the own staff's admission, grossly understaffed with many taking on multiple duties. This is obvious in the maintenence of the property. The wait staff at all locations leave MUCH to be desired, Many are young and could care less about being there or helping you. When you have to force them to actually help you, it leaves a bad impression. The occurred in the restaurants and at the pool. The hotel: The newer part of the hotel (the pool and spa area) is beautiful and well done. Unfortunately, that's where it stops. The rooms are "remodeled" but not well. They still look worn and old and it looks like they simply put new paint and linens in the rooms. The place has an odd odor which they try to cover up with a scent fans throughout the property which can be overwhelmingly strong (and not in a good way) in some of the areas. I totally enjoyed our stay here at Lakeway. The resort was very comfortable and the staff was friendly. If you like family casual, but want a little luxury, this is the place for you. We will be returning.

My wife and I spent 4 days (Wed-Sat) at the hotel on a short getway. Hotel was wondeful. Service was excellent; hotel food and room service was good (a rarety at most of my past stay hotels); staff were very friendly and helpful; balcony room overlooking Lake Travis is great for morning breakfast room service. wonderful service in a great location; good for family or adult vacation. Aircon in room was so noisy that we were unable to sleep. Must update aircon. Spaceous room, could accomodate more sofas for two to be able to seat.

If you want a resort that has quality swimming areas for you and your kids this would be the place to stay...very relaxing swimming pool area..kids have their area and adults have theirs.The only downfall on the stay was the area is alittle ways from downtown Austin.But I would stay there again..

Family friendly hotel with a fabulous pool and water slide. The perfect place for a family get away. It is located on beautiful lake Travis and minutes from a tee box!

The hotel and views were great, but over our two day stay no one cleaned our room or brought fresh towels.

I booked a room for our anniversary and we couldn't have had a better time. We spent a few hours at the marina riding wave runners before checking in which was so much fun, and the great people at the hotel arranged an early check in for us which was perfect. This hotel could be so much more than it is! They don't utilize the space that they have to full capacity. The spa (San Saba) is HORRIBLE (except for the girls at the spa's front desk are very nice). The cabanas in the pool area are disgusting! My room was very comfortable and always clean (thank you Housekeeping!). Laura and Judy at the hotel front […] desk are wonderful. Great place to unwind and relax, with or without the kids as the hotel has a 21 and over pool and bar area. Gorgeous views and great facilities, my only complaint was with the price of alcoholic drinks at $9.00 each. Food was reasonably priced, but they get you on the alcohol. Overall a great experience.

My husband and I stayed here for our 5 yr anniversary this past week/end May 2011. We loved everything about it. The staff was VERY helpful, professional and friendly. They even upgraded our room to a lake view. The hotel is very nice inside and out. We didn't swim in the pool, but other guest were in there all weekend. We went jet skiing and sailing […] from the marina that is on the same property. The hotel staff drove us to the marina and back. There is an outdoor shopping galleria near by that was also fun to walk around for an afternoon. There was one restaurant open on the resort, that was eh ok. There are plenty of other eating places nearby. The drive to the resort is beautiful and secluded. Although we did take a drive to South Congress street downtown Austin and that was only about a 30 min drive. We ate at Hopdoddy's on S. Congress (this is a must). They had the best chocolate shakes and hamburgers I've ever tasted. Overall, great week! We are definitely booking at Lakeway again! Lees meer

The hotel was nice; a little be outdated but overall it was very clean and comfortable. Only complaint is the pillows were too hard and the housekeeper did not do a very good job at all in making the bed; the sheets did not stay on the bed at all. If you like a lot of bathroom space, this is not the place. I thought the bathroom was way too small and […] not enough room to move around. The air conditioner was also too loud and didn't seem to cycle on and off. Other than those complaints, the hotel was nice and I would probably stay again but I might consider upgrading the room. Stayed over a weekend and enjoyed great views of the lake, quiet time by the pool and good food. Service was good. Parking was a bit of an issue, but with diligence we were able to find spots in self parking. Only inconvenience was that we had smokers below us on their balcony, even though entire hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. We had to close […] our patio door to avoid the smell. I choose this hotel because of the pool and patio area, it is great for adults and kids, lots of towels, attentive wait staff and live music on week-ends. The hotel has a lovely view of Lake Travis. It is a little drive from downtown. Only complaint I have about the room was our bathroom had no fan so with four people taking a shower n it got pretty […] steamy, other than that I love this place and can't wait to return to Austin. fitness center is open 24 hours a day, free internet and parking are added perks. We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were nice and comfortable and the view of the lake was beautiful. We didn't get to use the swimming pools due to the temperature outside, but they looked very nice. Hoping to return soon.

The resort was in a very scenic area. It was quite beautiful to wake up to such a view. It was very clean and quiet and had lots of amenities from which to choose. I would definitely go there again!

We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel as the ambiance is so serene and relaxing. We will come back to visit soon. Thank you!

We wanted a hotel convenient to a family function in Lakeway, but were a little apprehensive of Lakeway Resort due to it having several poor reviews on line. However we noted that most of these were from a couple of years back so decided to " take a chance". The view of Lake Travis is great, the fitness center is ACTUALLY a whole gym, the pools and hot tubs are really clean and nicely landscaped, and the restaurant serves good food and nice strong coffee. While I didn't use the spa services, I imagine that they are commensurate with the quality of the rest of the amenities- excellent.

My wife and I wanted a weekend get away. After browsing several appealing locations, I noticed Lakeway Resort and Spa, which I am so glad that I did! Some people complain that it is hard to find. The resort is not hard to find if you follow directions on a map. Lakeway Resort is a hideaway worth finding, but also worth tucked away from the hustle and […] bustle of city living. Just 20 northwest of the city of Austin, but a world apart from stress. 3 1/2 hours from Dallas, which was well worth the drive. My lakeside room was very roomy, comfortable and quiet. Although getaways should allow you to sleep in, the sunrise and Lake Travis is great site to see. Oh, and not to mention the sunset! My wife and I felt like we were on our honeymoon in Nice, France. The view of the sunset across the lake was very pleasing to the eye through our open window. Don't think you have to stay in your room to enjoy the resort and spa. Although my wife and I did not in treat ourselves with a massage, the facilities offer a full menu of massages that you can indulge into. Of course, you don't have to get a massage to have fun. My wife enjoyed a walk down the cliff to a beautiful view of the lake...very romantic! Another amenity that my wife and I enjoyed is the huge hot tub and fire ring next to the 3 pools! What a great place to hang out in the cool evenings!! Although the resort and spa is great for couples, it is surprisingly great for families. There is an awesome pool area with waterpark slides that kids would love to jump in. In fact, I plan to be back in the summer with my family. If you like sport bars, then don't miss out on Josey's Bar. You get a great view of the lake and pool from indoors and outdoors, but also several big screen tvs with your favorite game on. Lots of fun! The resort and spa would not be complete without great food. You have your choice of 3 restaurants! The room was perfect as far as the view and amazing setting, however they should let you know when u book a room in feb everything will be closed "wine bar, outside bars, restaurant". Basically only 1 restaurant open with limited menu...

This resort might be out of the way, but that's kind of the point sometimes :) Check-in was quick and they even gave us a complimentary upgrade to a lakeview room. It was raining all weekend so we couldn't make use of the great looking pools/waterslide/hot tub but the fitness center was nice. The overall experience was very nice. The hotel was quiet and well maintained and the lake view was beautiful. The hotel staff was very accommodating and professional. We skipped out on the expensive breakfast and decided to have a late brunch in Austin instead. One annoying trend which has become a pet peeve is the high speed internet quality of […] hotels. The wired internet didn't work in our room and the WiFi was not "high" speed. While decent for reading email, I wouldn't try to do much more with it. Lees meer

The hotel has a great view of Lake Travis and is in a nice neighborhood. Good running trails nearby. It may be an older hotel, but it really is a nice place to stay.

The hotel was fantastic, clean, well staffed and amazing. We went there for a romantic weekend away and were stunned by the place. Everything was clean and maintained and we had no problems with the service. The lakeside room with private balcony was gorgeous. We are glad we didn't book the hillside view which was a room facing the parking lot basically. Private […] balcony and table made great for some late night wine and champagne and breakfast in the morning. The king size bed was spacious with plenty of pillows and blankets that were soft and comfy. The bathroom and vanity area were very nice and well sized. Normal shower and tub though, nothing fancy. Bathrobes were provided for use as well as plenty of towels and normal amenities. Only complaint was that the shower pressure was horrible and that the towels could've been thicker or softer. They seem pretty worn down and used. The pool area was spectacular as well with a 3 level infinity pool and hot tub. There was also a separate pool with a water slide and just plenty of seats around the pool area to lounge and relax. Amazing view of the lake from the pool and just a great place to relax and unwind. Lakeway Resort has great views of Lake Travis and is located in a nice area. Close to golf courses and of course, lake activities. Pool area and bar was nice with separate ares for kids and adults, and the food in the restaurant was very good. Great place to visit. We came for one night on a last minute trip to town and as soon as we arrived we were welcomed by several people who treated us as if we were royalty. Valet parking and bag carrying was offered "as complimentary" by the staff. We had arrived at 11:30 PM and it was good to see that an attentive staff was still present so late. The […] room was great, smelled very clean, everything was immaculate, plenty of towels and even soft bathrobes for us. The Television was of good modern quality with about 30 channels including HBO. Internet was also available wirelessly or with Ethernet cable. The Balcony view was beautiful and also well protected from the elements (it rained a bit during our stay but the balcony was bone dry the whole time. Workout facilities were in top class as well as a nice looking spa. During peak seasons it looks like there is a TON of stuff to do. Three pools are right there next to the hotel, one for kids, a wading pool and an adult pool with swim up bar. Lots of nearby lake activities as well. Highly recommended resort and well worth the money we spent. The location was a little out of the way, but it is in the Texas hill country so it's a given that you have to navigate some winding roads at low speeds. Every good restaurant and hotel and neighborhood in the area requires a bit of a drive to get to because of the natural layout of the land and the shape of the lake. It's not inaccessible by any means, but prepare to drive 30 minutes to get to Downtown Austin, even though it's only about 15 miles away. Lees meer

the hotel was very attractive and comfortable with a beautiful pool area, comfortable well appointed rooms with a view of the lake. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, with a smile on their face always. The only exception was the manger of the dining area...she was scattered and was confusing everyone including her own staff. This hotel was beautiful and had the most amazing customer service. All of the employees were amazing and very accomodating! The only draw back was to get these amazing views and customer care you had to go a little out of the way deep into a neighborhood away from most of the attractions to Austin, and I was a little annoyed they didn't have a mini […] fridge in the room and eem the balconies are non-smoking. We loved our stay at Lakeway. Friendly staff, nice room, beautiful lake views. No complaints except that Housekeeping did not repenish shower gels and shampoos. We had to call each day for them to bring up more.

It was the perfect hotel for the family! The children's pool entertained our kids while my husband and I relaxed at the swim-up bar. We all had a great time!
