Voordeel, midden in Venetie, vlakbij Rialto brug. Oud gebouw, Palazzo ?, veel trappen, smalle gangen, wat onpersoonlijk, ontbijt redelijk, duidelijk onderdeel van een wat grotere onderneming, totaal 5 hotels in Venetie. Kamer en sanitair niet groot, maar wel kwalitatief goed. Matrassen nogal hard.

Prima hotel met aardige staff. Mooie lounge en zodra je naar buiten stapt, ben je direct aan de Canal Grande. Bescheiden kamer, maar voldoet prima. Ontbijt is basic, maar de ontbijtzaal (oude stijlkamer) is een prettige plek om de dag te beginnen. In alle opzichten een prima 3-sterren hotel en iedere euro meer dan waard.

The staff are totally unhelpful and rude. This place is located in the most crowded tourist area in the city... so they don't care if they have your business ever again because they know they'll get others. The rooms are more like prison cells, and the hotel has an foul odor. The room is so unpleasant that I will never NEVER stay here again.

Stayed here in January. I would NOT recommend this hotel if you are a light sleeper and i cannot imagine what the noise would be during the summer. Hotel walls are thin, in my room, the bathroom of the adjacent room was located at the head of my bed resulting in us hearing everything that took place in the adjacent room's bathroom. There are 2 rooms […] that are located on the ground floor beyond the breakfast area (rooms #1 & 2) and on a back street. I cannot imagine the street sounds that could be heard in the summer. The plus to these rooms is that it appears that they may be a bit bigger, the minus is that the laundry, kitchen and delivery doors are also located in this area so every morning you can hear the staff preparing to start the day, the door open for deliveries, etc. It is pleasant to see the staff ironing the bed spreads, washing and folding towels, etc. nothing hidden here. Bathroom was clean with heated towel racks, room had a nice clothing storage cabinet that included a safe. Decorated in vintage Venetian style, some items show their age with some scratches on the furniture and a few worn spots on the desk chair. This is not a hotel where you would find yourself lounging in the room, space is at a premium. Also with no lift and in our case, several sets of stairs to go up and down to get to our room, travel light. Do not follow the Google directions! Get off at the Rialto stop cross the bridge and you will see the hotel directly on the canal. Lees meer

Marconi is very conveniently located, just 2nd ferry stop from the terminal. BUT, the ferry guys will tell you that its the 2nd stop, but some said 3rd stop. and the local will tell you no, its the 2nd. Well, we traveled half of Venice (well, almost) with 3 huge luggages, wiggling in the small alley to because I listen to the boat man, who said alight […] at 3rd stop. Grrr... To cut the story short, we were exhausted by the time we reach the hotel, you have to look carefully for the Name of the hotel, its along a stretch of restaurants. Not very friendly staff, of coz (but the local there were quite helpful though) but the worse part is, they do not have a lift... we had to climb 4 level up with the luggages.... They didnt give us the river facing room as agreed even though the occupany rate was low (we didnt bother asking anyway). Not a fancy hotel, but has good features. It is located right next to the Rialto bridge, and depending on your room, it has a nice view of the Grand Canal. We had a small balcony were we opened a bottle of wine and enjoyed the view of Venice.

Over-all the hotel met our needs and expectations. This isn't the first time we've been to Venice but I still spent time reading other reviews before booking this hotel. I think I had the smallest room available . I was on my own and I felt because of this I was put anywhere, I was given no help with my luggage a woman on her own had to struggle up the stairs. Disappointed.

The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom was new. However, there was no mention that the room was a 'shoebox' and the mention of 'window opens' was in the bathroom 8ft up. Very clausterphobic! The hotel is by the Grand Canal which is a plus since all activities start from there. It is very close to Rialto station which is a plus for transportation as well. Enjoyed the stay - would suggest anyone staying at this hotel to use the water bus stops on the same side of the canal as the hotel rather than the Rialto stop on the other side - especially when arriving with heavy luggage. Hauling luggage over the Rialto bridge not a good idea.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel in June. We got the family room for four. The room was very small but one of the biggest in the hotel. The bathroom was tiny, no room to move around and you couldn't open the window because it was right over the toilet seat. The one and only good thing about this hotel was the location. Got to the hotel which is right next to Realto bridge and close to a water bus stop. They checked us in and then told us they had a plumbing problem and had to move us to a sister hotel 100 meters away. The entrance was scary. My room was on the 5th floor. You climb a few stairs but then there is an elevator. It is a converted apartment with kitchen. Stunning perfect location. Breakfast is superb. Room cleaned every day, spotless. Room was through the breakfast room and hard to find at first. We enjoyed our stay here. We went into it knowing it was an older hotel, but that's part of the charm right? It's a dated older hotel in Venice in an excellent location. The central location is superb near to the vaporetto and many restaurants. However the weather was particularly hot for the time of year ( end of March) and the air con did not work as they do not switch it on until summer. We had to sleep with the windows open which was very noisy. Ok Venice effectively shuts down fairly early but the restaurants below […] had to clear up at night and set up again in the morning hence all the noise at just the wrong times. Also near the water means mozzies and they bite me incessently so I always travel with all precautions but still they got me. A plus point was the hotel did provide a plug in repelent which did supplement my own. The breakfast was good but not the cooked stuff which was unappetising and poor quality. That said the bread rolls etc were fresh and there was a good choice of juice, fruit and jams. The coffee was good which is always a bonus. The rooms were not the biggest but were adequate and there was sufficient room to put things. The bathroom was clean and functional with an adequate supply of towels. Great central location which was the main reason for choosing this hotel. Good buffet breakfast which is on until 10am everyday. The room wasn't huge but perfectly adequate with a clean bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space with a safe. Nice to have minibar & fridge (no tea & coffee, we took travel kettle). Hotel is an old building which has character […] ie wooden shutters, traditional concrete floors. The only downside is that is can be noisy for light sleepers - I was woken by showering next door and people scraping chairs across the floor in the room below. The Hotel Marconi is located in such a wonderful location in such a wonderful place. Our room was plenty large with a great size bathroom. The breakfast served in the morning was perfect and the staff was incredibly helpful. There is no elevator in the hotel so if taking stairs is an issue, I would suggest requesting a room on the lower level.

Incredibly convenient to get to - just 2 stops on the water taxi anne as you get off at the Rialto stop you can see the Marconi across the canal (that is how we found it!!). Very nice location and simple to get to most of the island - especially with the water taxi stop right near the hotel.

This hotel could not have been in a better location. You literally walked out the door and you were looking at the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. The sidewalk cafe right outside the door had great food and good service. The rooms were very nice and very clean. I hope someday to go back there again.
