Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort in Cairns

stayed here at the end of a rally with over 150 cars through middle of australia. upon arrival staff were very friendly despite the hotel being over run by hundreds of tired people who had been camping for a week. with such a large group staying, there were bound to be complications. staff were quick to handle problems and issues and did so very well. […] all together the hotel was really good value for being so nice and central. approximately 5min walk to very centre of Cairns. will definitely check here first before booking my next stay. 5 minute walk to town and the lagoon. Front counter staff need happy pills other than that great place to stay. Pool was really great for th ekids had a sandy beach as well

This was a good, high quality residence with all the usual bells and whistles. Added plus was the lavish courtyard patio with pool. Only complaint was that their TV channel programming was not working (said they had YOGA on one in-house channel). I was informed later that "we are in the process of changing our provider."

We stayed here 4 nights, but never again, there are far too many quality hotels in Cairns. On arrival we were given our room. When we got up to it, I discovered that we were put in a basic Resort room with a view of the parking lot!, not the Pool View room that we had booked and paid for in advance, and the air conditioner would not work. I contacted […] Reception and it appears that they had "mistakenly" placed us in the wrong room. How often do they do this I wonder??? They grudgingly moved us to a Pool View Room. Next morning I requested that they put another dining chair and another lounge chair in the room. (like most bookings there were at least 2 of us in the room) We got the dining chair but were told we couldn't have the lounge chair. The floor plan on the net shows two lounge chairs so why only one of each in the room? Is this False Advertising? Now for breakfast, we only ate at the restaurant on the last morning and ordered one Full breakfast at $28.00 and one Continental breakfast at $14.00, what a joke! The bacon was greasy and the cheapest supermarket rashers, the scrambled eggs were watery and soggy, the poached eggs were that overcooked they would have bounced off the floor and the baked beans were just slop. My partner asked for some butter and was told curtly "just wait, i'll bring them out in a minute" The fruit was all unripe, don't forget this is in the tropical paradise of Cairns and chefs should be able to plan to allow fruit to ripen before serving it up! This restaurant won Novotel breakfast of the year in 2009, I only hope that other Novotels are really not this bad. We dont mind paying for a meal but do expect quality and service. At checkout we were standing at the counter, the clerk acknowledged us and kept serving another customer. The duty manager came out of her office, looked at us waiting and then called another woman forward, ignoring us. That topped it off. The Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort was extremely convenient. It is close to all restaurants and the esplanade. They have computers with free internet for free guest use which is great.

A clean neat hotel that offered to accomodate 4 people (2 adults & 2 children) in one room at a good rate with 1 hr late checkout added at no extra cost. Centrally located, great pool. Only disappointments were the que/wait on checkout and the hotelier group drinking at the pool bar who annoyed all in earshot and made kids feel uncomfortable. Overall […] an easy & clean stay. Our stay was very pleasant...the hotel was well appointed and the staff was friendly. It is walking distance to everytging. being at the end of our long australia tour it was good to have an on-site laundry!!! The internet though was really bad and unavailable most of the time.

The Hotel was very nice. It is a converted water front wharf. The original metal beams are still exposed in the very modern rooms. The lobby floor as glass in it looking down at the water under the hotel. The view from the water side is awesome. The view on the land side is of the wall, pylons and hill leading to the Sydney Harbor bridge. Staff was […] friendly and attentive. Our only complaint is that extra services (phone, internet, etc.) as typical of upscale hotels was pricey. There are visitors centers and travel agents with less expensive internet terminals available a few blocks away. The hotel is on the side of the bridge furthest from the Rocks neighborhood, so you either have to walk around the shore line (maybe ½ mile or so, or climb steps and a hill and go up and over (which we did) to get to the main Rocks area. Wonderful hotel, helpful staff, and excellent value. One small thing that could be improved upon was that the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner - there was hair on the floor here and there from previous guests and dusty corners, so perhaps just a little more attention to cleaning the bathroom. Other than that, I would definately go back again!

This is a great hotel very near the Esplande and the dock. Very nice rooms, great location. The only concern you might have is that the grounds surrounding the hotel are home to many of the fruit bats that are numerous in the Northern Queensland Area. The bats are not harmful, just slightly noisey.

O nome Novotel no Brasil tem fama de ser de hotéis caros e muito bons. Não foi o que se passou em Cairns, Austrália. O quarto não era tão bom como na foto do site e o banheiro era antigo e pouco confortável. Para piorar o quarto fedia a mofo e em frente havia uma árvore enorme com uns 1.000 morcegos que a usavam como casa, o que resultou em barulho […] e mau cheiro. Só à noite descobrimos de onde vinha o cheiro de mofo: o ar-condicionado pingava no carpete, que estava muito molhado (não percebemos antes pois até então estávamos de sapato). Os corredores do hotel nas dependências externas até os quartos estavam mal cuidados e sujos. A única coisa boa foi a concierge, que nos auxiliou com os passeios na região e foi muito simpática. 英語の分からない父が、一人で宿泊しましたが、日本人スタッフが懇切丁寧に色々サポートくださいました。帰国後にも他のツアーでトラブッた件も変わりに仲介してくださり解決しました。日本人には特にオススメなホテルです！

Novotel Oasis resort Cairns er et rigtig dejligt hotel - det ligger centralt i Cairns og standarden på hotellet er god. Vi var især glad for den fantastiske pool, hvor der i den ene ende er anlagt en fin sandstrand af fint hvidt sand - vores to unger (3 år og 5 år) nød det i fulde drag.

Très bon hôtel. La piscine est plutôt spacieuse, les chambres sont propres et bien aménagées, la salle de bain est assez grande et lumineuse. Le service est excellent, grâce à un personnel disponible, gentil et compétent.

Great hotel, clean, nice, and fantastic swimming pool. Also nice and helpful staff.
