I have never been so glad that I read reviews on a website and that they were totally accurate.Such a lovely hotel with professional and friendly staff.We were greeted so warmly as soon as we climbed the steps and entered the bright and airy foyer.The staff were always very helpful and courteous. We absolutely loved the breakfast on the terrace each morning,and the serving times are excellent.There was a great welcome and they seemed to enjoy my attempts at Italian! All in all,the hotel made our stay in Rome all the more enjoyable.It was a haven after a long days exploring,a welcome refuge for aching limbs and weary tourists. My fifteen year old son chose the hotel for our vacation in Rome and he really did a great job. He read reviews and weighed up the pros and cons. Capo D' Africa is his favorite. Everything was great, the room was a little small but spotless. The breakfast was lovely as was the breakfast room. The surrpounding area was fine as far as we could see and near to the centre of Rome. The most important thing about this hotel was the staff who were all delightful.

We really enjoyed this hotel, in a very convenient location, two blocks from the Coliseum, with lots of little outdoor patio restaurants to have lunch or dinner. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and modern. The bathroom was spacious. The front desk clerks were very helpful and pleasant and made our stay very enjoyable. The rooms are absolutely tiny. We were treated poorly compared to older patrons of the hotel (we are in our mid-20's, most who stayed here were families or in their 50's). The included breakfast buffet has a small, poor selection of food. The restaurant on site is overpriced. Overall, the hotel is overcharging for what you are getting. The service and the food was amazing!

The hotel was very clean and modern. Plumbing, A/C were great. Location was very good and breakfast while not great was plentiful and pleasant.

A well positioned, modern, clean and well equipped hotel with friendly and helpful staff.Air conditioning was much appreciated during our stay as temperatures hit 38C. The staff at this hotel is very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean and had a huge shower. If anything, the air condition was too efficient. The location is close to classical Rome but a bit further from the historical centre which is a 30 minute walk away (unless you use the metro).. 3 blocks from the Colosseum and Palantine Hill is one of the best things about the hotel. Located on a quiet street with first class amenities. Front desk staff extremely helpful with map and bus line #s. 3 block walk to all the public transportation you need. Breakfast had the least amount of selections of our 4 hotel European journey, but was adequate. […] Comfy beds and great shower/bathroom. The hotel staff are highly outstanding, and assisted us with a wonderful trip!

Very clean and staff friendly. Main thing to watch out for is NO IRON in room. You must pay to get anything ironed and the room only had a shower. A very good shower though with strong water pressure. It is located a 5 minute walk to the collosseum and within 10 minutes of a Metro Station on the B line which links in easily with the A line. Restaurants […] in vicinity not fantastic. The walk to the closest A line is 20 minutes away. The breakfast which is included is basic but good. Cereals, hot food and lots of juices available. Actually bearing in mind the cost of food in general in Rome you might want to load up on a good breakfast before leaving the hotel! Out main issue really was with the lack of an iron so take a portable iron with you if you don't want to pay. Also the hairdryer in the room was really poor and would take an average woman a long time to dry her hair thoroughly, so again bringing your own hairdryer might be an idea. If you're looking for a centrally based hotel that's not part of a chain - the Hotel Capo d'Africa is a sensible, if uninspiring choice, but it doesn't live up to its own website. This makes much of gorgeous design features, chic urbanity, smart facilities. Great in print, but, in reality, the staff's uniforms are shabby and shiny with wear, the carpets […] are desperate for a shampoo and the lifts break down. The much-flaunted 'design concept' is concentrated into two small areas on either side of the reception desk, and doesn't reach the utilitarian bedrooms (which, unless you pay for a junior suite, have bleak views) at all. That said - there are pluses. Location being the first (you're a three minute walk directly from the Colosseum with good family restaurants a gladiator heeled stride away). Service in both the breakfast room and reception is great. Friendly, helpful, nothing's too much trouble. Recommendations are impartial and useful. Hotel porters are charming. The breakfast is excellent, the coffee to die for. But housekeeping is erratic - some days you get water in your room but no glasses or bottle opener, some days you get the glasses but nothing to drink out of them. Turndown sometimes gets missed. Green credentials: though the hotel offers you the option to retain your bed linen (which we chose by not asking for sheets to be changed), our preference was ignored. Costs: Rome is expensive but you can't help expecting just a little bit more bang for your bucks at the Capo d'Africa. Helpful hint: Taxis from both Rome airports (which have a fixed price, so you're not going to get cheated) are considerably cheaper than the car the hotel will provide. Lees meer

We had a wonderful stay a this hotel. Very comfortable rooms. This hotel was newer than most of the places we stayed on this trip and It had all the modern conviencies. Very close to the coliseum and the metro station. The bathroom was very nice, and up to date as was the living area. The hotel is a small boutique hotel that has all the amenities needed. They provided a robe and slippers, a great breakfast, and a plug converter was in the bathroom. The only problem I had was the bed was way too hard for me and the air conditioning blows directly on the bed. I was either freezing or hot! Otherwise, it was fabulous!!! A few things […] about Rome and the bus system....... I forgot my hair conditioner and couldn't find a travel size bottle to save my life. So I had to buy a big bottle and leave it cuz I had no checked luggage. And the buses, Momma Mia!!, talk about confusing. I rode on one bus for an hour before someone that spoke Italian and English helped me translate with the bus driver. The hotel condition and staff were fantastic but I was very dissapointed with prices they charged for internet access and their terrace bar and BBQ. Prices were simply rediculous (25 Euros for 2 hrs of Wifi). This is a serice that would be expected free of charge at any 4 star hotel.

This hotel was everything we had hoped it would be! It was within easy walking distance to the antiquities of Rome, it had neighborhood charm and local eateries that are highly recommended, and the hotel and it's staff were wonderful! The breakfast that was included was delicious, the desk staff and bell staff were amazingly accommodating, the rooms […] were quite large and clean, in comparison to most European hotel rooms. The luxury items like Turkish bathrobes and slippers, wireless internet, cigar humidor, room service, and the well-stocked mini bar made our stay much more comfortable. Blocks away from the Colosseum - will need to take a taxi to the Vatican, but we walked to everything else - safe and quiet, staff pleasant and spoke English very well. Close to colosseum. Clean and well maintained. Might be more convenient if we stayed closer to the center of Rome i.e. near the pantheon or trevi fountain. Good breakfast!

We stayed at the Capo D'Africa for the first 3 days of our Honeymoon in July 2009. We were very impressed with the hotel. It was clean, in a very convenient location, and the staff were always totally helpful. The breakfast room's balcony has a view of the Colloseum! We would definitely recommend this hotel to others. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed here for 3 night in Rome. The service was attentive, the rooms were clean, and we found the location to be quite convenient. It's close to all of Ancient Rome, and we were happy to note that the hotel is also located very close to a gay neighborhood in Rome. Truly ideal for going out at night and enjoying the Roman bar scene.

Lovely hotel, very pleased with room although shower facilities slightly disappointing for room price. Breakfast on the terrace was great.

Wir waren Ende März in diesem schönen Hotel und hatten sehr viel Glück mit dem Wetter, heißt ,wir konnten jeden Morgen auf der Dachterrasse in der Sonne frühstücken, herrlich ! Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Service, den Zimmern und natürlich der Lage, im Zentrum des Alten Roms" ! Ich möchte noch gerne ein Restaurant 100 meter vom Hotel erwähnen, […] das Papagio" , sehr gutes Essen und zuvorkommender Service, sehr zu empfehlen, neben all den Nepper-Schlepper Läden eine willkommene Alternative ! Rolig bakgate i hyggelig nabolag, med gode restauranter like ved. Kort vei til alt. Bra frokostbuffet, hyggelig vertskap og fin takterasse.

Das Hotel ist sehr komfortabel und ruhig; das Personal ist ausnehmend freundlich und sehr bemüht; es gibt ein sehr gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück, insbesondere mit Obst und Kuchen.

Mycket trevligt hotell med bra läge. Lugn och tyst omgivning med lite trafik. Toppenservice och bra frukostbuffe. Nära till bussar och tunnelbana och även Colosseum.

Das Hotel wäre sehr empfehlenswert. Leider hat in den letzten zwei Nächten unseren Aufenthaltes immer wieder der Feueralarm begonnen. Von 0100-0630 hörten wir alles 20 Sekunden einen Alarm. Ich hätte dafür gerne eine Entschuldigung oder das Fahrgeld zum Flughafen erstattet erhalten, aber nichts davon ist passiert, was mich schon etwas enttäuscht ha […] t. Lees meer

Et fantastisk hotell midt i Roma. Hotellet har en nydelig takterasse med en rolig stemning. Her spiste vi vårt beste måltid i Roma, en deilig og saftig biff. Rommene var rene og moderne innredet. Personalet var smilende og hjelpsom, vi opplevde de som meget serviceinnstilt. Rundt hotellet lå det også noen gode restauranter, i en av Romas smale gater. Séjour magnifique dans cette ville de rêve où après les longue journées de visites, le confort et l'accueil chaleureux de l'hôtel vous redonne de l'énergie pour attaquer les soirées. O hotel tem uma ótima localização próximo ao Coliseu. Você toma café da manhã olhando para uma das sete maravilhas do mundo moderno. Está próximo de pontos turisticos importantes. Tem ótimo acesso ao transporte público. Acho que a única falha do hotel está no concierge, não possui um concierge e os recepcionistas que fazem esse papel não são tão bem […] informados ... Stille og rolig område nært Colosseum. Flotte rene rom med god service.Flott takterasse men litt for rolig. Vi ble anbefelt en returant av hotellet som lå i nærheten og det endte med at vi spiste d lunsj eller middag der 4 ganger i løpet av fire dager.Deilig mat ,lite turitser og billig. Ingen av oss liker og sitte sammen med bare turister og spise […] så vi har alltid i løpet av de 4 gangen vi har vært i Roma hold oss i utkanten.Det var flere rasturanter som lå i nærheten av hotellet som vi også prøvde og da følte vi at vi var i Italia.Gåavstand inn til sentrum men vi tok buss hjem ett par ganger .Anbefales Lees meer

l'hotel est très bien,on a eu pour notre argent. L'acceuil est très chaleureux, personnels souriants attentifs et parlant français. Points forts: Service de qualité.Proximité du colisée et de rome antique. Points faibles: Bon petit déj mais sans plus. Bel hotel rien à dire mais un peu petit.

A very friendly welcome and nice hotel. I loved the balcony and the breakfast. This hotel is all you need and its really close to many of the sights such as the Colosseum. A 25 min walk will take you to the spanish steps and most of the shopping streets. I give this hotel a very good rating + it even had a small gym.
