Ramada Colchester County Province in Colchester

We stayed here our last night in the UK. We chose this hotel primairily because it was cheap and close to Harwich. For the low price it was a very nice hotel. The decor is a little dated, but functional. We had dinner at the hotel, that is not a good idea. The people serving were very slow and not paying attention. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were polite and considering the price, which was the cheapest in town, the hotel was excellent value for money. The hotel is a little out of the way, but £10 taxi ride its still cheaper per night than anywhere else.

Staff were really helpful, but the room was very dark with only a desk lamp & wall lamp to light the place. It was conveniently located for local town centre though.

the biggest problem we had with the hotel was the bed. It was so soft my partner and I ended up in the middle of the bed with it turning into a v-shape. This was the worst hotel bed i have ever stayed in. The place was a pain to find as it wasn't signposted very well but it was clean and the staff were friendly enough.

Does what it says on the tin - convenient and close to Colchester, Not luxury, beds are V soft, but worth the money.

Stayed there for one night - staff were great and very helpful (even when Hotel.com gave us the wrong rooms), the room was clean but the decor tired, the bed was comfy. Now I was born and bred in Colchester and even I had a slight problem finding the place! So make sure your sat nav is up to the task! Isn't particularly flash and is not the type of place you'd take your partner for a long lie-in Sunday morning type of break. But if you're on business weekday or going to be out most of the day at the weekend doing things, it's fine. Little tatty around the edges (although completely acceptable), it's well located and staff are friendly. Luckily this was for a 1 night stay! Any longer and i would have moved hotels! the room felt dirty, the bed was really uncomfortable and the whole place needed a complete revamp in terms of decoration. The wall paper was coming off, lights didnt work, the TV could only get 2 channels etc etc! Think Alan Partridge in the Travel Tavern! Nothing positive […] to say other than it was close to where i needed to be and the pub on the same street had decent food at reasonable prices! Lees meer

The room was cheap but very tired decor. Carpet worn, leaterh chari worn, bed not full size double and pushed up against wall. When i tried to move it out from wall carpet below disgusting. Toilet would not flush however without asking we were upgraded to a suite as they couldn't fix it. The suite was a lot nicer.

We came on a nostalgic trip back to the Colchester area and to meet up with old friends again. The hotel was ideally located just off the A12 making for easy arrival and departure as well as being central to the area visited. The welcome and assistance of the staff was excellent as was the speed of service when a request was made. The room itself was […] comfortable and furnished to expected standards, with daily cleaning and stock replenishment as required. The bed was a bit soft and rather 'roll-together' but that is just a minor personal moan in what was a very relaxing stay and two very good nights sleep - although the fire alarm going off accidentally did give us a rude awakening but it was soon silenced. Well, these things can happen and I do not blame the hotel. Because of our type of visit we never tried the dining area although past experience from before 2007 was always a good one and I saw nothing to suggest this had changed. Price-wise it was excellent value for money and undercut the less comfortable Premier Inn easily! All in all, a lovely place to stay. Lees meer

The food was over cooked, service was poor and if it wasn't local to where i needed to be i would have left on first night. The room is dated, bathroom smells of damp and the room is small - better value at nearby premeir inn at Weeley

We had an OK experience at this hotel. It does look a bit tired in places and would benefit from updating but the room was comfortable and very clean although the bathroom lacked good lighting particularly in the shower area. Service was OK although when we reported to reception that there was no phone in our room, one was not provided. Breakfast experience […] was good and we particularly liked that it was open until 10.30am. Overall, reasonably good value for money and we would use the hotel again. Our party of 4 arrived at 10 to 10 at night. The restaurant shut at 10 at night. The restaurant staff were very helpful and produced a delicious meal for all of us. We were very surprised and delighted.

spent about a half hour looking for this place. no sign visible from the road. completely invisible.

A little out of the way if you want to explore Colchester and not signposted on approach roads it even confused my sat nav. A warm welcome from the staff who were excellent throughout.

The Hotel was easy to find & looked good from the outside in a lovely locatrion, the staff were pleasant enough, however that bathroom wasn't particularly clean & the carpet in the room was threadbare. The whole place looked like it could do with a an updated decor & a good clean. Expected better from from a Ramada...

Located on the outskirts of Colchester, this Ramada hotel is pretty good, with free parking, restaurant, pub and several indoor/outdoor areas where to relax for a while. Rooms are OK, but not large. There is nothing of interest in the neighbourhood. If you don't have a car, don´t come to this hotel. All for all, my wife and I spent 9 nights in it, at […] a very affordable rate. Lees meer

Beliggende i et lite bebygd område et par km nord for Colchester sentrum, bil anbefales sterkt. Grei parkering. Ligger nær motorveier, litt støy i uteområdene, men ikke slik at støy fra veien er plagsom på rommet. Romslig resepsjon/lounge. Rommene er av middels størrelse, med dobbeltseng eller 2 enkeltsenger, skrivebord og TV. OK bad. Bra komfort. Gratis […] WiFi tilgjengelig overalt, men dårlig hastighet. Bra restaurant (5 av 5 stjerner fra "matttilsynet i England", god frokost (valg mellom English og continental), også greit utvalg av små matretter og middag/dessert. Bra vinutvalg, men lite utvalg av øl. God service, imøtekommende personale. Lees meer

Hotellet ligger litt utenfor byen i et lite tiltalende område. Det var ikke air-conditon på hotellrommene. Ellers var hotellet bra. Vi kan godt tenke oss å komme tilbake engang.
