Het Royal Oxford Hotel ligt op een goede locatie t.o.v. het centrum. Binnen vijf minuten ben je in het centrum. De staf is vriendelijk en erg behulpzaam. De kamers zijn prima, maar wel een beetje gehorig. De bedden/kussens zijn ook niet zo goed, helaas. Verder een leuk verblijf gehad!

Het hotel is oke op de stofnesten onder het bed na. De etensmogelijkheden (naast het hotel) zijn minder, eigenlijk alleen maar fastfood. Als je daar niet van houdt, is dat niet prettig. Het dichtstnabijgelegen restaurant is ver weg en in het donker niet te vinden, daar je allemaal kleine binnenweggetjes afmoet naar Hungerford. De omgeving is echter prachtig. TomTom kent Membury niet. Het ligt aan de A4 en niet in Hungerford.

De inrichting van het hotel is zeer out-dated, ook het hotel zelf is zeker oudbollig te noemen. Wij vonden dat echter ook wel weer charme hebben: de wirwar van gangetjes en trappetjes, de kinderen konden echt op ontdekkingstocht. Het zwembad was voor hen ook prima. Hier was ook nog een verlaten sqaush baan - likje verf zou niet misstaan, maar het was er wel en mocht gebruikt. Zelf zou ik hier niet drie week verblijven, maar even een nachtje was helemaal goed.
Ligging.
Express By Holiday Inn Oxford bevindt zich in Oxford, dicht bij Kassam Stadium, Iffley Road en St Hilda's College. In de ruime omgeving liggen ook Headington Shark en Botanische tuin van de universiteit.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
Dit hotel biedt diverse eetgelegenheden, zoals een bar/lounge. Gasten krjjgen gratis ontbijt. Zakelijke voorzieningen zijn onder andere vergaderruimtes en audiovisuele apparatuur. Het personeel kan op verzoek een cateringdienst voor evenementen, zakelijke diensten en een geldwisseldienst regelen. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere meertalig personeel, een safeloket bij de receptie en een geldautomaat/bankservice. Gasten kunnen gratis parkeren.

Personally I wouldn't stay here again, probably more to do with the whole chain rather than this actual Hotel. For me a cooked breakfast is more than a sausage, beans and some eggs that have been sat out for 2 hours. Lots of little details disappoint with this Hotel, it should only be £30 a night to stay here really.

The hotel was really good, clean and value for money. Breakfast was complementary which was really appreciated. A bit far from the center but there is an easy to catch bus nearby that takes you to there in no time. Overall, highly satisfied.

Oxford. It is a £16 taxi ride away, next to the football stadium, with no facilities on site. The breakfast was miserable and looked as if it had been cooked the day before. In the evening there are no food facilities. Guests are directed on a 10 minute walk to use fast food outlets next to the football ground. I've stayed here before and it is very convenient for Oxford and catching the Park and Ride. I was welcomed warmly, the room was quiet and warm, with a good tv. Desite the dark I managed to find the hotel easily enough. The welcome was fine, the room was comfortable, the breakfast was better then I thought it was going to be judging by other reviews. It was convenient for parking ans to get into Oxford easily.

"Early check in not possible..."
We tried to check in early and were told that as the hotel had been full the previous night there were no rooms available. We went away to the car and found our priority card. When we came back suddenly there was a room available for early check in. This disingenuous approach warrants a bad review for service. The rooms are ok though.

We checked in at 1030 in the night and it was cold in the room. We reported the problem and were told wait for some time. 1 hour later, we were given blankets after reporting the problem again. mid night when the cold still continued, we were given heater. Next day, we were told the problem has been fixed, but was done. the same situation continued […] for the 3 days of our stay. Except this, hotel upkeep and people were nice. "Average"
Reception staff only ok, not very keen to help!! Toilet seat dirty with urin drops. Rest of it ok. Towels and bedding very clean!! Beds extremely uncomfortable and noisy. Breakfast average low. Quality of hot food quite bad. Scramble eggs very bland and artificial flavour. With regards of cereals and breads ok. It is a good 20min drive to town!! So […] it is convinient but having stayed at many Holliday inn hotels this is one of the worst. Overall for the price you pay it is an ok option, but I much rather state at a b&b in town closer and more Cousy!!' Lees meer
it was pretty good, nice and clean the only complaint we had was that 1 of our light bulbs was out and they had not refilled one of our soap dispensers otherwise it was brilliant.. :)

Does what it says on the tin ! Easy to park with no extra charge, bus is in easy walking distance and is £2.90 into center. Taxi at night was about £12 Room was clean and comfortable (No bedbugs either I checked its my trade !) "spacious, well-equipped disabled room"
We were very pleased with the size of the room and the bathroom with roll-in shower and plenty of grab bars. The location was good for our purposes but otherwise remote from Oxford. We were told there were eating places in the area, but they were not readily apparent. The breakfast buffet was more than we expected. Overall quite a good experience.

The hotel was comfortable, the breakfast was good, but the location was a bit strange. I was surprised the hotel didn't have a restaurant and the nearby places (a Chinese and Frankie and Benny's) weren't brilliant. There seemed to be a lot of maintenance going on and quite a few rooms closed which was a bit off-putting, too.

We stayed for one night and had our own transport - which made it possible for us to get there as well as to find a breakfast more cost effective than the one served at the hotel. The room was perfect wrt cleanliness and had all the facilities we needed. "Nice Suprise"
The hotel itself was good value for money and was clean and tidy. There were quite a few little touches that I appreciated, such as lots of towels in the room, and a sign by the bed giving the list of TV channels. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it was OK. The breakfast area was chaos. There were plenty of tables which was great, but the food […] was in an enclosed glassed off area that was far too small. It was very crowded to get around the other diners just to get a piece of toast. It was a bad start to the day, but for the price it was OK. The hotel is right next to the stadium and on the other side is a leisure complex with ten pin bowling, cinema and lots of food outlets. This was a pleasant suprise and very handy. Hotel was fine - clean, standard hotel room to be expected from Express by Holiday Inn. About 10 minutes in a taxi from town centre. Reception staff were helpful when asking for places to go in town.

Excellent standard of hotel in a OK location, Close to my work place, I spent 3 nights here. I obviously did not read review but the leisure facilities are actually off site and across the road from this hotel. Would probably stay again!

"Great Stopover"
My daughter and I found the hotel to be everything we needed for a one night stop close to Oxford. We were impressed with the buffet breakfast and, importantly, the really good all inclusive price. Excellent.

A highly recommended hotel with every expectation very well met. Good bus service to the city centre which is approximately 12-15 minutes from the hotel. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past few years but it is now in need of a makeover. The bedrooms are looking TIRED and GRUBBY. A poor reflection of what was once a really nice hotel!

Nice room, great breakfast...When defining directions...Kasem stadium should be the location. In unfamiliar territory late a night, this would have been a great help.

Hotel OK shower only wi fi 9 pounds our room we could hear the people in the next room talking (etc). about 10min walk to bus stop make sure you get someone from the hotel to point it out to you its not easy to find don't try driving into oxford Good breakfast and free parking
