The obvious thing is the size of the room - it was tiny. Two other couples were with us, and their rooms were the same. The mattresses seem to be worn out, and the duvet on the bed did not even fit the bed - it was not wide enough. The frosted glass doors on the bathroom are a bit strange, especially since the bed is right next to the bathroom. Nice place..the room was clean and seem newly refurbished ...everything was working ...good for the price if you want to spend time in the room...otherwise you can find within the same area tones of hotels ...I recommend the place...if they try to move you to a different location because of maintenance problems don't accept it ..they try to do that […] when I checked in. The hotel itself is fine. Good price for what you get. Small, but good. The issue is with the lies. They consistently tell guests that there is some maintenance issue (boiler once) and they have to move you. Don't accept that as truth. They pulled this move on me and I started asking questions about them paying for transportation for me and all of a […] sudden they were able to find a room not impacted by the "boiler" issue. I feel bad for the employees for being forces to lie. They have been overbooking and using excuses for months. The hotels itself was very clean and tidy which is good but I felt that the service was poor, the room was tiny and the service was not good. When booking in I was asked to take a seat and waited, then once I checked in I was given a disabled adapted room and the shower and sink were not to my general proportions ie someone who stands up! I asked to […] be changed and the guy did so promptly but then I put into a tiny room with a false window (I felt I was being punished for asing to be moved!) The room was next to the left and I could hear this all night. The next morning, feeling rather cranky I went for Breakfast, in all honesty I wish I'd not bothered! The bread was dry and stale, the supposedly fresh orange was like thick gloup and the eggs were cold. I was booked in for another night and decided to go without breakfast the next morning. I travel and stay in many hotels. First time I booked to this hotel the weather was bad about a year ago, they said due to bad weather they had some maintanance issues and they would need to transfere me to another hotel. I said fine it happens. I booked here again 3 months later, and gues what.... they said they will need to transfer me to another […] hotel due to maintanance..(this time weather was fine).. I said no, I told them they were mis-selling... I told them i would not be accepting the transfer and would not stay here again if they did not sort it.. they said okay we have a room for you now.. I asked how? they said we will send the other people to another hotel. I told them they should not be in this business.. By accident I booked this hotel 3rd time.. YES they had a maintances issue and samething happened all over again. The single bed room was very small and in fact I could hardly walk without stepping on my suitcase or on the bed. The lady who checked me in (I arrived at about 4pm on the 14th March) was rude and unpleasant, and did not make me feel welcome at all. The fitness centre was also under renovation, of which they failed to put a sign up at the front desk […] and didn't even offer an alternative at possibly a sister hotel. It's a real pity because it was good value for the location and the rooms/toilet especially are actually very well maintained. I understand I did get it at a steal but it wouldn't hurt to offer that little bit of service and then perhaps I would pay more or even leave a tip. Wouldn't recommend it unless you're on a tight budget or just on a stopover/transit. Lees meer

The room , location, cleanliness, all good. However, the stay is marred by poor staff, whose demeanour suggests that they are doing you a favour. They are polite, but.... I would NOT stay here again, and would NOT recommend it.

My colleague and I only needed rooms from one night as we were catching the train to Heathrow the next morning. We've both stayed at hotels in the area before and like the location close to Paddington. Being close to Hyde Park was also great as we could take a walk before heading out on yet another trans-Atlantic flight. Our rooms were very clean and […] comfortable, and mine was quiet. My colleague's room was next to the restaurant so it was a bit noisy in the morning. The rooms are very small as other reviewers point out but we're used to this from extensive travelling throughout Europe and elsewhere. The size might have been a bit more of an issue if I was staying for a number of days and needing a place to work in the evenings (my room was so small that it didn't have a chair at the desk). Breakfast at the hotel is okay but for the same amount of money or less, you can find a nice breakfast at one of the local cafés. I would stay here again. Lees meer

Was there for 5 days from February 22-27th. Location was about 2 blocks from the Paddington location. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked and we received a room which had some minor annoyances such as the shower heads were loose, the safe was not bolted down, etc. but they were remediated the next day by the staff. Staff was very helpfull (the little contact we had), when we got there roomtype that we had booked had some fault, so we where offered a double, not a double with twin beds. We where compensated with free breakfast (very pricy otherwise almost 15 pounds per person). The room was well furnished but rather small and, being in the basement, was rather dark and had a slight smell of drains. The bathroom was also very small but well equipped. There is nothing wrong with this hotel, it is in a good area, handy for visiting the city. While the room was small, it was comfortable and nicely decorated. However, this is not a 4 star hotel, it is 3 star at best. Facilities are very limited, it does not even have a bar.

Excellent location, only 5 minutes walk from Paddington Station. The room was too small, but incredibly small with low ceiling. I did not mind as i spent most of the time outside otherwise it would have been a problem.

Room was the size of a broom cupboard. Strange smell (like urine) when the heating was turned up. Staff not well trained.....young chap I asked foran iron and board forgot the room number and I had to call reception. his ecuse was "he was busy and had a lot to remember". We were staying in the area for business so booked 2 rooms. As we arrived the 2 reception staff were either on the phone (a legitimate reason to be waiting) or appeared to be prioritising a personal / internal issue (not a legitimate reason to be waiting). The flowers on the reception desk were dead (not a good sign) and everywhere looked a bit tatty […] at the edges. There seemed to be a pervading smell of curry everywhere that intensified in the lift but dispersed by the time we reached the bedroom floors. The rooms (we were supposedly upgraded to a club room, which must mean that the normal rooms don't have room to swing a mouse in, as you most certainly could not swing a cat in ours...) are dark and the beds are small and feel old if you know what I mea. Sheets were clean and the bathroom was too, so that was a plus. One point however... the bathroom would most certainly not accommodate any larger individuals as we are both quite trim and managed to bruise ourselves! I booked the hotel because it said in the booking form from Hotels.com that this hotel room I booked and paid for had a queen size bed. Unfortunately this hotel has no queen size beds at all, so don't believe all that is said. We arrived to a not very polite receptionist which gave us a disabled room which was not very clean, the bathroom had mould […] and shower did not work correctly. Worked well for what I needed - somewhere to sleep for a few hours between a late night working in London and early morning flight out of LHR. Checkin was not great. After returning less than 24 hours ago from an extremely delightful trip to the UK, I could not wait to write a review for this hotel. And I am not one to write online reviews. This experience was just too good not to share with the world (and I say that with complete and utter sarcasm). Poor customer service (and by this I mean the most unintelligent […] and useless staff I have ever encountered)? Check. Blood-stained sheets? Check. A room in the basement, where the only maid employed at the hotel (a man who closely resembles Lurch from the Addams Family), yelled at us for trying to actually go to our room? Check. Free breakfast for which we were actually charged $25? Check. Free Wi-Fi? Check, but never actually worked on any of our (five) electronic devices. And as an added bonus (and my personal favorite), the man-maid, instead of replacing any of the towels on the floor (as hotels customarily do), including the one we used to step on after the shower, kindly hung them back up with all of the clean face and hand towels. The most fun was trying to get our $25 back from bfast. After presenting the evidence to the brick wall at the front desk, we received the most ridiculous response we had ever heard: “Yes, it does say we offer free breakfast at this hotel, but not to all of our members. When you booked your room, you should have received a confirmation email that tells you whether or not you receive breakfast for free. You should know that tip for the next time.” Next time?? It was a very well appointed room, maintained with a high degree of cleanliness. All the facilities worked well , there was ample storage space, an extravagant TV and a very comfortable bed. While the free wired broadband in the room was great, would have preferred WIFI in the room , so that the phone also could be used to access the net.

However, I arrived late in the evening after a 3 hour drive, so was a little disappointed to find on arrival that there was: a) no parking - although it advertised parking at a surcharge, they actually offer private parking a 10 minute walk away. b) no room service because c) there is no […] restaurant at the hotel.
