Hotel Saba in Istanbul

Ik heb mijn ouders voor een aantal dagen hierheen gestuurd en zij kwamen lyrisch terug. De kamers waren gewoon goed, niks bijzonders. Het bijzondere uitzicht maakte het hotel echt een aanrader. Met een uitzicht op de bosporus en de blauwe moskee vanuit het ontbijtrestaurant begon elke dag met een hoogtepunt!

we had a very enjoyable stay , the staff were very helpful, breakfasts good & location excellant, the only critisism would be the room size , we were 3 ladies & the room was more like a double, we had a bit of a squeeze with cases etc but othrwise very good. loved turkey & the people

Excellent position close to the Blue Mosque in a quiet area. Friendly service. Delightful breakfast terrace with view of Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. A few minor grumbles about the room: no bedside lights, though staff provided one when asked. Shower head did not stay in position. Bed inordinately hard to our taste, so not sleeping well.

Our company got two absolutely different rooms for the same price. Some rooms in the hotel are nice, some less nice - depending on your luck, you might end up in a nice room with table and chairs, or then a very small cabin with no room at all. The breakfast and staff were nice, though.

no internet rooms are freezing in the night receptionist is sleeping in the night housekeeper is getting into room without knocking the door while we are sleeping. breakfast not fresh staff seems to be not enjoying what they do and their job first day, we came to reception and said that we have a reservation, receptionist said that i need to check […] if we have a room, if we dont have i can not give it to you, what a stupied system Lees meer

If you are going to Istanbul, you should definitely go for this place. Awesome place, and good service. Not the last time I'll go there.

Nice little hotel which is situated very close to the sights. The Blue Mosque is about a 2 min walk away, and sights like Hagia Sofia, Topkapi palace and the Basilica Cistern are well within walking range. Superb location close to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The breakfast bar on the top floor had magnificent views of both and over the Bosphorus. The hotel is somewhat dark and a little dingy but scrupulously clean and the hotel staff (who spoke enough English to converse) were very helpful. It is a missed opportunity not to open a little bar on the top […] floor in the evening as the views are magnificent at night with the Blue Mosque floodlight and the buffet breakfast was a little strange - would have liked it to have included some fresh fruit. Stayed the first week in October 2011. This is a decent 2 star hotel wIthin a block of the Blue Mosque and within walking distance of Hajia Sofia and Topkapi Palace! No need for an alarm clock. Rely on Blue Mosque muezzin's call to prayer at 6 AM. Convenient to Istanbul Metro. Rooms air-conditioned and clean. No cabinet or countertop in the small bathroom. […] 220V electricity only, but staff has one transformer that they'll share to recharge a camera battery or a shaver. Guests were from US, UK/Commonwealth, France, Germany, and other countries. Although there was a TV in the room (probably receiving signals through a satellite) all programs were in Turkish. With all the English speaking guests, one would have expected BBC World News or Skye News at least. Staff very friendly and helpful. Airport shuttle service available for a fraction of a taxi. Metro from airport to station (Sultan Ahmet) nearest Saba cost 2 Turkish lira but takes about an hour. Shuttle takes 40 min. depending on traffic conditions. Taxi costs more than shuttle and price fluctuates depending on driver. Lees meer

The hotel is just off the Hippodrome but the street is fairly quite, little vehicle traffic. The hotel is easy to find too. The staff was friendly. The Breakfasts were good with great views from the rooftop, where breakfast is served.

The roons are clean and confortable with nice batrooms and showers and its location is perfect for anyone looking to see ıstanbul's main historic attractions. Excellent experience here and I would highly recommend it.

Location, price, and quality were terrific but the staff is amazing and made for cozy, comfortable stay. There wasn't anything they couldn't or would't help us with--they even returned the camera we left behind to us at the airport--now that is service. It's got a great view from the terrace too.

I just felt in love with Saba Hotel. This is my 2nd time there. We were a group of 7. I like very much the view from the roof top. The staff are extremely nice and helpful (especially the lovely lady at the reception desk). The hotel location is superb ! cant wait to come back. I do recommend this hotel for staying in old Istanbul.

It's so close to the Blue mosque. The view of the terrace is great, just need to keep an eye on the sea gull. They are really quick, smart, and like to share your food. If possible, ask for the room 04 or 05, you can see the mosque on your bed.

One of the best hotels we stayed in on our trip. The hotel staff were the best. This place is literally 150 meters from the Blue Mosque and the breakfast deck up stairs has the most beautiful view. You should stay here.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, and with a nice bathroom/shower. Breakfast was more than adequate with a big selection of different types foods to suit every taste. Although the hotel is very close to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace, and the Cistern, and relatively close to the Grand Bazaar and […] some of the older Turkish baths (hamami), it is tucked down a small, quiet side street. Eating out during the day was easy as there are many restaurants, bars, and kebab shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Lees meer

Great location and the staff are really nice and helpful. it's very clean and the breakfast was good and the view from the terrace was fantastic. the only complaint we had was the Air conditioner wasn't very cold and it seemed like they couldn't do much about it. would recommend it and we would stay again.

I have used the Saba for a few year now and stayed there again in December this year, so have many of my clients, and the feed back has always been excellent. The hotel is well positioned in the old city,and the staff were excellent.They recommended two extremely good Turkish restaurants for us and were very helpful in suggesting trips to go on etc.The breakfast was wonderful with a very good selection.

I really liked that location of this hotel. It was in the heart of everything and was a really great find for the price. I would most certaintly stay here the next time I am in Istanbul.

The staff was very helpful and freindly,the breakfast area had a spectaculer view and was warm too ,I would like to thank all the staff at the hotel for making my stay a very enjoyable and pleasant stay.

We booked the hotel over the net. we were picked at the airport and coming to the hotel was easy. The location is amazing and the facility is impeccable in condition. Very beautifully furnished and has a very high standard of decor. Overall my stay at Turkey was memorable. Thanks to a good hotel. Definitely look forward to another stay.

initial room offered was like a prison cell -- same w/ second -- finally got a decent room, but it was a struggle -- bfst was a c-, drains in sink in room and shower both backed up -- no reading light, had to lie cross-wise in bed to use wall lamp to get enough light to read -- all the front desk staff was interested in doing was selling expensive (over […] priced) tours -- only thing good was the price and i guess you get what you pay for --NEVER AGAIN Lees meer

Overall a reasonable hotel in a great location. The main drawback of the location is the call for prayer from the Blue Mosque that starts at 5:30 am. The staff was helpful with our questions and arranged tours and transfers efficiently. The view from the terrace at breakfast was terrific. It was pricy given its 3 star status, but that's mostly because […] of the location next to the hippodrome and just a few short blocks walk to the main tramline. The staff were very helpful at the office and we were able to store our bags there after we checked out. The Saba Sultan is within easy walking distance from the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and St Sophia. Great location, lovely apartment, just what we needed.

The Hotel Saba is located just off the Hippodrome in the heart of historic Sultanahmet yet is located on one of the area's quietest streets. the location of the hotel was perfect and the view from the terrace where we had breakfast was the best thing.

4 day stay Oct 16-19, 2009. price was almost the lowest on hotels.com. I was concerned that it had no official Turkey rating - only 2 reviews. The view of the Blue Mosque from the top floor restaurant (breakfast buffet only - which was quite good and included) may be the best view of it in the city. You also have a good view of Hagia Sofia. Don't expect […] a view from your room - mine was of an air shaft for air conditioners. Rooms varied in size, mine was small and my large suitcase had to be opened on the double bed to use it. No top sheet, only a bed cover, wasn't to my liking and didn't feel sanitary - and too hot for sleeping. Hanging space in the closet was adequate. The bathroom was newly tiled with new fixtures - very nice - almost zero space to set out my things, however. Hair dryer included. Staff spoke very good English and were always pleasant and supportive. However, they do get a kickback from the tour Companies. I would have been better off following my guide book's recommendations for self guided tours, both walking & riding the day long cruise on the public ferry. in fact, i didn't expect it 2 b this clean & comfortable. it was all i needed. the location is great. quite area and a 2 minute walk 2 the blue mosque. the staff were very nice and friendly. the breakfast was reasonable. very clean room & toilet. a great rate! would definitely come back!

l'hotel est très bien situé à quelques metres de la grande mosquéé bleue, les chambres sont petites, nous etions a la 107 et il n y avait de fenetre alors nous avons demandé a changer et nous sommes passés a la 402 un peu mieux. le petit dejeuner est fade mais le personnel est accueillant si on donne des pourboires

hotel trés sypatique tres bien situé a 2 pas e la mosquée bleue et la sainte sophie tramway juste a coté ainsi que beaucoup de commerce de plus le prix defient toute concurence question Qualité/Prix. Je conseille vivement cette hotel.
