We arrived late in the evening and were greeted warmly by the front desk clerk who was very friendly and efficient. That is the end of our positive experience. Our room which was a no smoking room smelled strongly of stale tobacco smoke and our other roomed had feces in the toilet. We were led to believe that we could leave our car at the hotel and be provided with a shuttle to the airport. That is NOT true. When we asked we were told we would have to catch a cab to the airport. It was cheaper to leave our car in the airport parking lot than taking a taxi. The hotel was noisey. It stinks of stale cigarettes. There was a couple […] fighting and swearing ALL NIGHT long. I only got maybe 1 hours sleep...if that. The bed was uncomfortable. There was only a 19" CRT televisiion. And the price WAS NOT reasonable for the services we got. The food in the morning was horrendous and when they ran out of coffee, a lady went and asked the girl (very politely I might add) if she could make some more and the girl working there was very annoyed by the request. Well she works there it IS her job. Next time we will stay at the Country Inn and Suites, that is definitely a hotel I would recommend We will NEVER stay at the Settle Inn again!!!! Lees meer

For the value, the hotel was fine. The building has seen better days! The hotel is older and obviously was a different chain by the decor. I'd stay there if you're looking more for value than plush.

Clock in room was not working, pulled out nite table to plug in, the durt behind the nite table was disgusting.

The first hotel room we were put in stunk very badly; floor had not been vaccumed. The 2nd day we were there the toilet overflowed and we had to move to another (cleaner) nicer smelling room. Housekeeping was substandard. The front desk staff were fantastic and more than helpful;

Reception and housecleaning staff at the hotel were very friendly. The cleanliness of the rooms left much to be desired with some of the bed linens being stained and greyish in appearance; some of the bath towels also had unlaundered makeup smears on them. The floor under the bed and around the edges of the room appeared to not have been vacuumed for […] several weeks or more. The photos of the hotel online showed both a swimming pool and hot tub which was not the case; there being only a swimming pool. The room was described as having a mini-fridge and microwave which were no where to be seen. We had paid for what was to be 2 identically outfitted rooms but were not. We will not stay here again, and we will not recommend anyone to stay here. Lees meer

There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling from the bathroom above us. They did move us to another room, however the sheets/pillow cases had stains on them, as in body fluids, and there were some small rips in them. Also, the toilet was not clean. The rooms were disgusting... Walls were yellowed.... Beds are like a rock.... Unclean sheets.... Mold in the bathroom and in the shower/tub..... Ran out of coffee at 830 at the continental breakfast....

The continental breakfast was more than i expected. had everything you need to fill up before a busy day of shopping. I would definatly go again. Its not the ritz but what do you expect for the price and the staff is very friendly.

Hotel should be much cleaner..... even it is the big one. Bedding doesn't feel fresh at all. Pillows are just old.....

Outside looks like a nice hotel, but inside needs to be remodeled. It is a good working man's hotel and there were many staying there. Room we were given first was not cleaned. Given a clean room but closer to the highway. I had asked for a fridge, but was told when I checked in that they were working on it but none available. Pool needs a new acid […] wash and paint. Breakfast was OK, but because of all the working men, coffee was quickly gone and food stuff empty and not restocked. Staff was helpful and apologized for short comings. The hotel is great for the price. It has been renovated in the last few years and the improvements make it look like a hotel instead of a truck stop motel. Staff is very friendly always says hello, from the front desk to every cleaning and maintenance member. The pool area is warm but i think the addition of a few pool toys would be great. I've stayed at the Settle Inn Grand Forks 4 times now and each time there is something from the people who stayed in the room prior left behind. The staff were really, really nice and hospitable but the place as such was average. It was economical but the room was too small and while they do have a swimming pool, they don't have a fridge or a microwave in the rooms. You can request one, as stated on the website, but we didn't get one cuz they only have so many and they were all taken. The iron […] and ironing board is also to be shared. Each room doesn't have one so you'll have to ask for it (which we did and they did give this to us). The breakfast was pretty good but you can't ask for much more for the amount we paid for the room. The hotel didn't even meet our basic needs. We had reserved a double bed room but were given the handicap suite which was spacious but meant someone had to sleep on an uncomfortable hide-a-bed. Which was made even more uncomfortable because there were no extra pillows in all the hotel. so we had to share 3 tiny pillows. Had to walk down to front desk […] to ask for pillows because no one answered the phone. Staff seemed friendly but didn't go out of their way. The pool was so cold no one could enjoyed being in it, so not useful. The breakfast was ok but the tables were dirty with crumbs, no one seemed to be manning it like other hotels we've been to. Wasn't close to the main shopping. Had to travel more than we would have liked. For the price it wasn't worth it at all. Has the potential to be a great hotel. Lees meer

While there were many good things about this hotel, from the good service of the employees to the wonderful complimentary breakfast, these things didn't surpase the needed fixups of the room. There was a hole in the door and the tiles needed a good scrubbing. The tub didn't drain and the carpet was stained and the pool was ice cold. I stayed here because the hotel was reseasonably priced and I was in town for a conference. When I arrived the front desk people (who looked & acted about 16) were less than helpful. I had paid ahead of time online and so all I needed were the room keys. They threw them across the desk at me and said "here you go." I actually had to ask them what room […] I was in. Should have been my 1st clue. The room was disgusting. Around 10pm I pulled back the sheets of 1 bed and a chunk of broken glass fell out - no lie. Figuring I would just sleep in the other bed in the room, I pulled back those sheets only to find them completely filthy. You could actually see dirt/grime all over the pillowcases. I called the front desk & requested a new room so which they told me they were actually overbooked so all the rooms were full. I then asked for someone to come down & change the sheets - the clerk told me that since she is only one here at night that is not possible, because she can't leave the front desk...what?!?!? I finally walked down there, stood at the front desk, so she could leave it to find me some new sheets. Then I changed the sheets myself. The breakfast was less than thrilling. About 3 pieces of bread, 4 bagels, some waffle mix, and garbage all over the counters. And this was at 7:30am... I do realize that you "get what you pay for" - but I do expect a clean room. good value for price

Although this is not the fanciest of hotels it does do the trick. We always stay here when visiting grand forks. Although it is a bit run down it is an okay place to sleep. For the cheap price you can't really complain The pool isn't great but the breakfast is good.

It was a affordable place to stay. Clean and did its purpose.

The room was fine but it could use a bit of maintenance and modernizing. The staff were pleasant and polite. We enjoyed our stay and it was conviniently close to shopping and dining.

There was pink mold in the shower head and black mold in the shower. The room smelled gross and musty. I will stay elsewhere next time.

You get what you pay for, a small but clean room with a very basic pool area.

Excellent value. Clean, comfortable, and close to the University and tis facilities, especially the ralph Engelstad Areana.

Basic hotel, very friendly staff. Easy access from interstate. Clean rooms. Could use a little updates but can beat that price!

This hotel was okay and the breakfast (included) was also okay. There is no restaurant that you can walk to and none on the premises. There are other hotels nearby with an in-house restuarant that are the same price. This was okay but not for the same price as nearby hotels.

Check in was fine. Paper work was ready and friendly staff. First room was ready. The second one had not been cleaned from previous users. They were moved to the other end of the hotel. We had booked together so that we would been close. Their bed broke twice. It was cleaned very late on Saturday. Our room on Sat was reasonably cleaned., except coffee […] grounds were still in maker. On Sunday one bed was made and the garbage taken out, nothing else. Wet towels were still on bathroom floor. Nothing had been wiped in bathroom or anywhere. We had to get our own towels and toilet paper. We said that nothing had been done but it was never cleaned fully. ON checkout we complained and were told we would receive a voucher for a free stay. We will see.`` Lees meer

This is a basic hotel and was what we wanted for this stay. The room was quite clean but the walls were scuffed and the tiles in the shower were in need of a bit of repair. There was a flat screen tv, so that was nice. The pool area was basic and quite cool in temperature but the weather was extremely cold when we were there so that may have made the […] difference. The breakfast area was small for the number of rooms but was kept clean and well stocked. The staff were friendly and helpful. This is not a luxury vacation hotel but just fine for a weekend stay for a hockey game. Lees meer

for the price it was ok. The room had a very small Tv that was not in good working condition, for this reason I would not stay at this hotel again.

The room ws clean. A great value - located near the ralph englestad Arena. I'll stay there again.

Had the best sleep ever (no cats to wake me!). It was quiet....seemed like an 'older crowd' stayed there. Took my 12 year old niece there. We enjoyed the pool (all to ourselves one evening) ...comfy beds, clean rooms (standard......nothing exceptional)....good value for what you pay for which includes breakfast.

Fairly clean, quiet, very reasonable price, friendly service, and good basic breakfast included.

good room for the money

We have been staying at this hotel for the past six years when we go up to North Dakota to see my mother. It was great for awhile, but has been declining the last few times. Very poor housekeeping and rooms starting to be rundown. Staff is very nice though.
