Best Western Ville Marie Montreal in Montréal

I was very impressed with the staff of the Hotel. They were very gracious and helpful. I was not impressed with the room quality. The wallpaper was peeling, there were holes in the floor under the carpet and the towels were coming apart.

The hotel was nice enough for what we needed. However there were a few things that could have made it better. The room was quite cold - the maintenance staff tried to fix the heater and eventually said that if it wasn't any better that the house man would bring a space heater. We eventually didn't bother as it was late and time to snuggle in for sleep. […] The bath vent was broken. They just supply two very small and old towels. The temperature of the room was stifling hot, and we were told it could not be changed; we kept trying to alter the thermostat but it did nothing. There was a door in the wall separating us from the adjoining room, and smells of their cooking (fish one night and curry the next) filled our room late at night.

Initially, I was not happy with the King Deluxe room because it felt very small. The staff at the front upgraded to a 2 Queen Deluxe Room (double the size) for no additional money. The staff was very courteous and the gift shop was a great place to buy souvenirs at bargain prices.

Hotel was very nice. Quick cab ride to old city and markets. Very helpful front desk!

Very nice and friendly hotel. Language not a problem. Nicest feature--the window opened for fresh air. We travel a lot and this is always a luxury.

unlike in hampton, the conscierge did not allow us to book immediately. it was about past 12 lunch and the room was paid in advance. she just allowed our bags to be kept with the valet until 3 pm which is official check in time. with hampton in niagara, when the hotel learned that we were at the megabus terminal and we inquired if we can come in they […] immediately allowed us to use the room we paid for. hampton is more gracious that best western. Front desk was great, very friendly. we enjoyed our room, small but adequate for our 2 night stay.

Lots of restaurant nearby and in the hotel. Thelow prices makes up for the lack of continental breakfast.

We were in town visiting local universities and this was an ideal base of operations -- close to a metro station, near excellent restaurants, and in walking distance of 2 of the three colleges we wanted to visit. We will definitely stay hear again !!

Clean and comfortable, not luxurious but good value for the price.

"Do not disturb sign"? What's that??????? Put the sign up the first night and got woken up the next morning by a knock on the door asking if we needs services.... the next morning we received a phone call asking if we needed service.. we stayed a week and continued to get knocks whenever we had the sign up. The front desk staff was friendly. But the […] beds were horrible for our backs, which we usually have no problems with our backs. The walls were also paper thin and we could hear whenever someone turned on their sink or flushed a toilet, not to mention the running in the hallways. The hotel was average at best, BUT you get what u pay for, this was one of the cheaper hotels around downtown montreak. We would spend the bit of extra money if we went back. Very conveniently located and pleasant staff. Washroom was adequate though nothing to brag about. TV was awkwardly placed in room making viewing whilst in bed uncomfortable. Good rates, but be warned: a $300 surcharge for smokers.

Close to everything! Walking distance for the underground city, the Museum of Fine arts and the Mountain. A short cab ride for Old Town.

The location was great because it was in the city but it wasnt right in the center of everything so it was quiet. The staff was very friendly and extremely flexible. My friends and I loved the attached cafe. I would definitely go back again!

Guest check in was great with Andrew although the guy next to him could use some customer service training. The Valet parking was an excellent service and the room was good for the evening we needed it. The best was the surprise Lebanese restaurant in the reception area. Most hotels come wtih standard North American food and it was pleasant to find […] this restaurant at our feet. Friendly staff and great service there. Clean, friendly and convienant location. Very old and not in a classy way- just old. 3/5 stars because I would rather stay in a hotel that is more modern.

The check in clerk (Valentine am) was extremely polite and helpful. Same courteous from the concier, definitely A+ rating!

This is a fantastic spot to stay if you are planning on going out on the town. You are quite central and a quick cab ride to most fine dinning and bars. The room was quite large and the beds seemed almost brand new. The rooms were a bit dated with 90's wall paper however and the old box style tv's didn't help either. Staff was friendly for the most […] part. The bar could use a fresh bartender or barmaid as the troll behind the bar wasn't appealing from both an attitude or a visual standpoint. The fact that they only have valet parking is a pain, but since the room was priced well I didn't mind forking out 25 bucks for parking. I would definitely return. Lees meer

The hotel is withing walking distance of the Bell Centre, the shops and restaurants of Saint Catherine Street and Peel Street, and the entertainment of Crescent Avenue. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

This stay at the Best Western Villa Marie was very enjoyable. I booked this room for me and my sister because I had purchased 2 Habs tickets for her B day. The Hotel was very clean, the service was first class and the beds were very comfortable. It was walking distance from the Centre Bell which was perfect and very convenient. Thank You!

Unfortunately we arrived on a Friday with many students, door slamming and noise continued on our floor until well after 3 a.m. Staff security tried, but partying on the floor continued. Front desk staff moved us to a quieter room for the second & third evenings. We got much needed rest. I booked it while driving and was not aware that it did not have a pool. I was very disappointed at my error.

i needed to be in montreal several times over the course of a few weeks, near McGill, and this hotel couldn't have been a better choice. Nice cafe on the ground floor, very attentive lobby staff, including valet. room was clean & just fine for me. i stayed 3 separate times, and will probably stay again.

The hotel is right in the area of the St.Catherine's shopping district. The only problems that I had were the heating wasn't very good especially since I stayed in the winter and my room was missing a fridge. The room comfort was good and the café is very convenient. Service was good and location excellent just a few negative points... The air is super dry in the hotel so I found myself getting lots of electric shocks, antime i touched anything! This might be normal, but I didn't really experience it anywhere else in Montreal...? And also the shower was leaking in my bathroom. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay!

The vaket service, although it was convinient, personal was rude. Expecting Tips, in that matter, and showing attitude when none given. Not a right thing to express, considering the car gets left there and picked up., let alone paying for parking @ 25 dollars. If you are to incliude a valet service, than the staff should be more friendlier.

This Hotel was wonderful and what made it grand was the excellent service that I received while staying there. Seriously, I have stayed at much grander hotels and have never received this sort of 10 star treatment. Nothing they did was done with an attitude. All of the staff were gracious, warm, and helpful. Covenient location but nothing special as far as the hotel goes. Not sure it deserves a 4 star rating. However nothing seriously wrong either, just mediocre.
