All the staff in this hotel were more than excellent ,The suite was beautiful,excellent breakfast in lovely setting. Lucca is a very nice place to stay in Italy.

Excellent, helpful reception staff. Very good range of food at breakfast. Nice touch of complimentary snacks and drinks available next to reception. Great location just within walls of old city with a pretty terrace overlooking the large gardens of the villa next door. Would stay again if returned to Lucca.

Most of staff was pleasant and helpful, but I had one very unpleasant encounter that ruined the entire experience for me. I wrote an email to complain and did receive a written apology, but I have never had a hotel employee raise his voice at me before. I personally would not go back to the hotel because I was so upset by the incident, but I do think […] the incident was probably not the norm for the hotel. However, I also witnessed another event in which I did not feel the guest was treated appropriately. He was checking out and his bill came to more than his agreement,. The original agreement was honored when he presented his paperwork, but no apology was issued. So, keep your paperwork and enjoy the lovely facilities and the majority of the staff who were pleasant. This Hotel was wonderful, great location, very clean, personnel very attentive and polite. The service was outstanding they even have a self service cafeteria 24 hours , with beers, soft drinks, juices, pastries, fruits.

The hotel had many things to recommend it, lovcation, complementary snacks and beverages, nice breaikfast included in room price, location. But the price of teh room would indicate a much higher quality hotel. The bed waws far too hard, terrible linens and covers, thin to non-existant. No amenities in the room.

We spent a week at the Hotel Illaria and really felt at home there. The location just outside the city walls made it very easy to access all that the city has to offer. The staff was very gracious and helpful and were willing to make suggestions about where to go and what to see in Lucca. The room was comfortable and the housekeeping staff very efficient. […] Then breakfast buffet was one of the best we have encountered and the complimentary drinks bar was a nice feature, The hotel provides free bicycle rental and parking. This was my first visit to Italy; my wife had been there after university some 30+ years ago. It was a belated surprise wedding anniversary present of which I gave my wife only 24 hours notice. The hotel was comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, taken on a tented terrace with views of the lovely houses and grounds close by. It was a very calm […] and relaxing way to start the day. Free coffee and pastries were available in the reception all day long. There wasn't a restaurant, but the hotel had connections with some local restaurants, so that wasn't a handicap. There was free wi-fi in the main hotel along with a computer for those who needed to access the internet. The reception and lounge were smart, well-furnished and comfortable. Our double-decker suite was very comfortable. No fabulous views outside but a typical Lucca urban view. Plenty of closet space, two spacious, modern and (by the look of them) brand new bathrooms. Safe facilities in the room though no sense that security was an issue. Not a lot in the way of English tv programming but a number of decent movies. An interesting small glass floor outside the ground floor elevator in the annexe, displaying old ruins below. Welcoming bottle of Prossecco and bowl of fresh strawberries for our anniversary. I didn't get a sense that there were loads of staff working there but those that were took pride in what they did. They were sincere and friendly. It was exactly want we wanted: comfortable and convenient with friendly and helpful staff. If we go back to Lucca, we'd stay at the Hotel Ilaria in a heartbeat. Lees meer

This Hotel was a joy to stay at...............First class, smart, clean, and well run by friendly and helful staff members. The location within the city walls, was a good bonus, as was the unlimited use of the Hotel bycycles. Breakfast was superb. The room was lovely also.

Very convenient in this walled city with limited vehicle access, easy to find off autostrada. Met all our expectations. Would we stay there again? Most definitely.

pleasant and helpful staff,help yourself to coffee ,beer and cakes, available all day in the lobby ,no charge.super breakfast with lots of choice. rooms were spotless ,towels thick and fluffy. chamber maids and porters all friendly. we had a wonderful holidayin lucca made all the more enjoyable by our stay at the superb hotel ilaria

Lovely hotel would recommend in a heartbeat. Fabio on reception was excellent and very, very helpful, Great walking distance to the centre and they will even loan you a bike which is actually easier than walking!!! Room was spotless, fresh sheets etc. Would absolutely recommend and Lucca is amazing, a mini Florence with not so much traffic and much […] more laid back.... Lees meer

Entrance to hotel was in a lovely walled cobbled courtyard, private. Very clean, bright and modern decor. Pleasant friendly efficient staff. Room cleaned twice a day. Breakfast Buffet plentiful. Would stay there again.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Comfortable, friendly, efficient, superb breakfast , free beer , coffee and cakes all afternoon, free bikes, lovely sun terrace...... superb. Oh yes, free parking as well which was great in the parking hell that is Lucca! Room even included a jacuzzi!!

Great hotel. Extremely helpful front desk. Lots of freebies to make you feel welcome. Beds were good, but pillows very hard. Great bathroom with huge tub. Fabulous breakfast. Also had a free buffet in the afternoon which we missed but heard was great. Perfect location in Lucca, away from the hustle of the town, but very close to everything, inside the […] walls. I booked Hotel Illaria after reading excellent reviews. The hotel certainly lived up to it. My only downpoint was one of the receptionists was very rude. She was so unhelpful which totally contradicted the reviews I had read. We left on a sour note as she made an issue about ringing a taxi a 2nd time for us after we had waited 20 minutes. We were heading […] to airport and were anxious to catch flight. However, the rest of the staff were delightful and I would still recommend the hotel. Its wonderful and well located. It doesn't look like much but it was AMAZING! We had a two level suite and it was phenomenal. I'd recommend this place to anyone planning to stay in Lucca. A little tricky to get there in a car, but wonderful otherwise. Loved it!

Our favorite hotel among the six we stayed at during our two week trip to Italy. To start, the Hotel Ilaria's staff was phenomenal. They all were incredibly friendly, and helped us with train arrangments, suggestions for side trips, etc. The room was nothing out of the ordinary, but it was clean, well air conditioned and decent size. ...this hotel is perfect for a stay in Lucca, it's location is superb, nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the rooms are perfectly acceptable...working on the basis that you don't spend a lot of time in them! Yes, the hotel is a little dated, but it does have charm and what it lacks in style is gains in service.

Lucca é fantástica e o hotel é excelente, bem localizado e tem tudo o que precisamos para uma noite nessa bela cidade.

Cada detalhe do hotel, da decoração ao atendimento, teve o foco no bem-estar do hóspede, como todo hotel deveria ser. Ambiente agradável, confortável, aconchegante, decoração de bom gosto. Café da manhã muito bom e variado. Faltam apenas frutas de boa qualidade, mas não se poderia exigir muito no final do inverno europeu. O atendimento de todos foi […] fantástico, sempre gentis e atenciosos, em especial Claudia, Paola e Fernando. Internet grátis, embora a conexão seja lenta no acesso à maior parte dos sites. Estacionamento pago (15 euros/dia), mas compreensível e justo, já que o espaço intra-muros da cidade é escasso e valioso. Durch die Lage des Hotels am Innenstadtrand ist ein Besuch der Sehenswürdigkeiten leicht möglich. Super fanden wir, dass das Hotel durc h kostenlosen Fahradverleih die Möglichkeit der Flexibilität merklich erhöhten. Wir werden dieses Hotel wieder besuchen. Die Zimmer sind leider nur für schönes Wetter, da sie etwas klein sind und dadurch keine räumliche Distanz […] zum Bett vorhanden ist. Lees meer

Tudo otimo, instalações, serviços, staff, localização, limpeza, qualidade dos lençóis, silêncio, facilidade no acesso. Não é preciso afirmar wifi nos quartos se não há possibilidade de qualquer onda atravessar paredes tão grossas. É só uma questão de compreensão e adequação. Usa-se o lobby. Nota 10 .

Hotellets ansatte var meget serviceinnstilt og dei ville virkelig at vi skulle trivst under opphaldet. Reinholdspersonalet var innom romet på kveldstid (mens vi var ute og spiste middag) for å fylle opp med hygieneartiklar, reie opp sengar og drage ned rullgardiner, alt dette i tillegg til vanlige morgenrutine med skifte av håndkle -veldig imponert! […] Ellers var det gratis forfriskningar i resepsjonsområdet på ettermiddag. Vi fikk låne syklar av hotellet gratis. Parkeringa betalte vi noken Euro for, men då fikk bilen stå i parkeringshuset til hotellet med vakt. Hotellet ligger innenfor murane, og det er gåavstand til alt :-) Einaste minuset er -som det var over heile Toscanaområdet- VELDIG harde sengar. Men dette var desverre ikkje kun på hotell Ilaria, vi var innom tre andre overnattingsstadar iløpet av vårt Toscanaopphald og alle hadde same kvalitet på madrassene. Lees meer

Dejligt hotel med yderst venligt og imødekommende personale. Morgenmaden var rigtig god og langt over italiensk standard. Beliggenheden er god idet den både er central og området meget roligt. Et pænt og hyggeligt sted man gerne vil tilbage til.

We were only here for one night, the last night of our two week trip to Italy. We had been to 3 different hotels before arriving at Ilaria. I must say that the service at this hotel was exceptional. The lady in the reception greated us with a great smile and she made us feel really welcome. She was truly service minded and helpful with all our requests […] and questions. The hotel is in the old town, behind the wall. However it was possible to drive to the hotel which had a parking garage. It was a charged service however it was very much worth it. This pleasant hotel lies inside the city walls of old Lucca city, the service was excellent. All the nearby attractions of Lucca were at hand and easily accessible by the free rental bikes the hotel offered. Our room faced the canal just outside, it was a quiet and spotless room. Overall a clean and friendly hotel. An added bonus is the free snack-bar […] available in the hotel lobby. Will be staying here again in the future! Lees meer

Proche du centre historique, hôtel très confortable, avec un petit plus : collation et boissons chaudes et froides disponibles gratuitement à toutes heures. Personnel très accueillant.

Utendørs boblebad og solsenger. Ligger akkurat utenfor bymuren og det er en fin plassering.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights while exploring the Tuscany wine country and celebrating my 50 year birthday. The hotel was conveniently located inside the walls surrounding the city of Lucca. Hotel delizioso per posizione, per bellezza della zona comune e della camera. Personale allegro e gentilissimo. Unico neo: manca il bidet in bagno. Un hotel a 4 stelle in Italia non dovrebbe essere senza il bidet. All'estero sì. Ma in Italia, no. Lucca è assolutamente da vedere.

Utrolig serviceorientert og hyggelig personale. Et viktig punkt er gratis leie av flotte sykler som er uvurdelig for fremkomsten i Lucca. God frokost som kan nytes ute på en deilig veranda. Vi kommer deffinitivt til å velge dette hotellet neste gang vi skal bo i Lucca.

Vi satte stor pris på gjestfriheten ved Hotel Ilaria & Residenza dell'Alba. Hyggelig betjening, gratis sykler og bevertning i resepsjonen, og deilig frokost med masse frisk frukt.
