Het hotel was een ouder pand maar goed onderhouden. Het personeel was vriendelijke en behulpzaam. De kamer was netjes en voor het door mij gemaakte gebruik comfortabel. Het enige dat niet werkte was de afzuiging van de badkamer maar dat was verder geen probleem. Het hotel ligt op loopafstand van het Paleis Schönbrunn. I stayed at this hotel at the end of February 2013. The hotel itself was well kept up and clean. The problem was the staff. I had upgraded to the largest room available, the Comfort Double, but was put in a Standard Single. When I brought this to the attention of the female day receptionist who had checked me in, she was unbelievably rude. At first […] she insisted that I had booked a cheaper room and then when she pulled out the files and realised I had indeed paid for the Comfort Double, she flatly refused to put me in a room of the quality that I had paid for. She was abrasive with me throughout my stay. The Room: The room I was in was clean and reasonable in style/furnishings - if I had booked a standard single, but not according to the web information on a comfort double. A big disappointment with the room was the fact that 6 other bedrooms looked directly into room 103 (3 rooms from the floor above) as well as the large window beside the elevator in the coridoor, and there were no net curtains. Therefore, being in the room was unpleasantly like being a goldfish in a bowl. I have included the floor map of the first floor rooms in the photos, so if you are planning to stay here and would like a more comfortable room or some views other than other hotel rooms, that might help. My wife and I stayed at the Tourotel for 4 nights in late February 2013. The hotel is absolutely great value for money and here's why: Location: Only 3 minutes from Westbanhof station (line U3) which takes you to the city centre in less than 15 minutes. Several tram lines are also available just outside the hotel. The Mariahilf street is a main avenue […] with lots of shops, restaurants. There is a post box just outside the hotel if you want to send a post card back home (like we did!) and an ATM at the Volksbank around the corner. The Garda café / ice-cream shop further down the road (towards Westbanhof) has a great value breakfast, ice-cream and staff. The kebab booth outside the station is excellent too. Staff / facilities Very nice hall with helpful receptionists. Granted some of them might come across a bit serious to start with but bear in mind English is not their first language, the culture is different, etc. We had no problems in borrowing a couple of power plug adapters (left ours at home..). We also asked for travel tickets to be printed out which was done promptly. You need them to call taxi? no problem either! Room / Cleanliness We stayed at the first floor and the room is massive! It's well decorated and perfectly clean. The bathroom is tiled, clean and everything worked just fine. We had twin beds in ours which is not great but it wasn't a problem. The hotel was exactly as described near to main shopping street , not far from old vienna town ,near to bus , rail and underground . The pillipano gentleman on reception was excellent and helped us arranging travel to mauthausen Thankyou we are planning to stay in Vienna again in May and will not hesitate to use the hotel again

Great place. Wonderful staff. Clean. Room 103 had some noise carry from people talking in the lobby, but not a big deal (but that is why I rate comfort as 3). The surrounding hood isn't great, but you are at Wesbahnof. The subway in Wien is awesome, fast, on time. You can go to all of the tourist sites extremely easily. Plus, you're closer to some non-tourist […] "local" cafes when you stay near Westbahnof. Was really easy to get to the hotel, using the tips online. We did the bus and walked around and was perfect. Great location in Vienna. We walked everywhere but public transport options are plentiful and on the doorstep. When your exploring in a new city all you need is a bed and a base and this is what you get.

Hôtel room was ample and very, very comfortable. Excellent modern bathroom with large shower and separate toilet- quite rare! Only a few minutes walk from railway station and metro. This was a lovely hotel - the staff were nice and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean, and it was quiet. It was a half hour walk to the Kunsthistorisches Museum and Hofburg, but only a 5 minute walk to Westbahnhof station, so a good base to explore from. The only downside I would say is there wasn't a fridge in my room.

Very convenient location at the Mariahilf "shopping" street in Vienna. Relatively close to the West Banhof train station in you which you can take the Vienna metro or the Eurorail train. There are several places you can obtain basic groceries or shop for clothes in this street. You can find alos super-markets to get milk which does not need preservation, fruits bread, sandwitches so that you can keep a healthier diet. Good hotel, great location and big clean rooms with a huge bathroom. Helpful staff, free WiFi in lobby and a plenty of cafes and restaurants right outside on the street. Neither a mini bar nor tea/coffee making facilities provided in the room - huge dissappoint to a British traveller! Travel Tip: from Vienna airport, take S-7 train to Wien Mitte (Landstrasse) and then U3 to Westbhanhof - this is the cheapest way. It costs only 4 euros for S7 and 2 euros for U3 to complete one way journey. A relatively small hotel with friendly staff and large clean rooms. Located approx. 5 mins walk from West Bahnhof Station, and therefore easy to get to from the airport via. the Vienna Line bus service (8 euro). Our room overlooked the main road, but this did not cause us any problems as the traffic was relatively light in the evenings. Cleaning staff […] were exceptionally good, with replacement soap, towels & floors cleaned every day, even our clutter left on a table was tidied up. Easy access to Mariahilfer Strasse, the main shopping street, and the U-Bahn for easy travel anywhere else within the city. (London Transport take note - 2 Euro to travel anywhere within the city!) Down side? There is no bar or restaurant within the hotel, and tea/coffee facilities are not provided within the rooms. Guests are asked to use the cafe around the corner, inc. breakfast at an additional 8 Euro each. Overall, this did not cause us a problem, but you don't expect this of a 4 star hotel, and it would have been nice to relax with a refreshing drink after a day out. Also, it's approx 3.5km walk back from the city centre, therefore a bit tiring after an evening meal or being on your feet all day. After all, you won't see much if you use the U-Bahn every time! Given the price and location, tourotel Mariahilf is a very good value. My only caveat is free wifi in the lobby only, not in room, but it's a minor quibble. Everything was very clean, the location is great (get a transit pass, the whole city is wide-open to explore) and we didn't want to leave.
