We enjoyed a great stay in the Westwood. There was a wedding reception held there on each of the two nights of our stay and not only would you hardly notice except for the slight crowding in the reception area, but the dinner on New Years Eve was exceptionally good, in spite of the kitchen catering for the 200 wedding guests being fed at the same time... Great, nice, modern hotel, about a 10Euro cab fare away from city centre Galway.

This hotel is adjacent to hospital, university, salthill and the city. Beside all amenities. Hotel is just so comfortable and the staff are very helpful. Food - great

This was a really lovely hotel. We had one slight problem. We arrived at 11.30 pm. exhausted. At reception we waited for five minutes and could not find a staff member. Eventually we located a waiter who advised us to press 0 on the reception for the night porter. That phone was engaged. We waited another five minutes. The waiter fixed the phone problem […] and called the night porter, who was extremely helpful. All this could have been avoided by leaving a simple note on the reception desk showing the procedure for late arrivals. Lees meer

From the moment we arrived the staff at this hotel made our stay a pleasure. We were 4 hours earlier than check in time but they found a room for us anyway. Unlike many other hotels they warned us in advance that the room would be noisy since it was right beside the residents bar and that a wedding was on that night. Since we were going to be out late […] at another wedding we didn't mind but really appreciated the warning. The staff went out of their way to help us booking taxis, finding sewing equipment after a dress fail and always with a smile in their faces. The room, facilities were perfect and the added staff made this a great stay! The only caveat I'd add is that if you're hoping to spend time around Galway city centre it's quite far and taxis would add up, but for our purposes this wasn't a problem. Lees meer

Irish linen sheets, very nice. Nice hotel, but neighborhood a bit far from town. It was quiet and pretty but a bit far to walk to center of town. Staff was very friendly.

We enjoyed our stay with you. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. I would recommend it to all our friends.

Hotel was really nice! Room was crazy warm and the location was v out of the way, but they were really helpful and the room was nice and comfy.

Really nice hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. Family room is great for 3 but tight. One down side - not close enough to city center to walk to it.

The Westwood is a very nice hotel, a quick bus ride into Galway. The hotel was clean and the bar was fun. The help at the front desk was awesome. If you like to run there is a great place to run along the River Corrib and you can meander through the University of Galway. The hotel was pretty nice. We got the King bed room and it was very spacious. However, the kind bed was actually two smaller beds pushed together, complete with the very uncomfortable ridge where they met. Otherwise, it was fine.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The room was spacious & had everything I needed. The breakfast was outstanding. In fact it was the best breakfast I ever had in a hotel anywhere- loads of fruit, mouth watering baking , pancakes etc etc. Also reception staff friendly & helpful. Well done to all. It was a treat.

This hotel does is a nice place, good staff, tasty breakfast.

I chose this hotel because although it was a bit out of the way the pictures compared to the price appeared to be a bargain. Check in took quite a long time considering we were the only guest in the lobby. As we entered the room it seemed that the pictures were misleading, the tea and coffee facilities were dreadful and hygienically questionable. The […] bathroom door had different coloured handles on either side and a hole in the middle. Although the bathroom was mostly clean it was clear that there wasn’t a lot of skilled labour hired to make or maintain it, as there was a lot of things exposed and visible example piping. In the morning when I turned the shower onto full blast I was met with the pressure of a water gun and that’s being generous. As we left the room making our way to check out we were bleatingly ignored being as expected last on the list of priorities of the staff and that sums it up. Lees meer

Good, clean hotel with charm. Friendly and helpful staff made our brief stay very pleasant indeed.

Having stayed in Galway several times in the last three years mainly on business the Westwood Hotel is the best value for money accommodation we have found. Really comfortable, clean and large rooms. The location of the hotel is perfect if travelling futher into the west and Connemara. The only problem encountered during our stay this time was noise […] from the car park from people attending a fuction at the hotel - this probably only affected rooms located over the fuction room. Overall, however, this is one of our favorite 4 star hotels in Ireland and we will be returning here again and again. Lees meer

Nice conference hotel in residential area, but convient to City Centre. Our room was on level with the kitchen exhaust system, so it was not the best room available and we were a bit disappointed as with the warm evening, we could not open the window due to exhaust smell and noise. Nice hotel, good staff. There was a wedding on when we stayed though (schoolboy error on my part not to check in advance) and the noise was pretty bad. It wasn't a rowdy wedding or anything, but the DJ and disco kept us awake and ruined our nights sleep. If the Westwood wants to cater for weddings, then fine, but they need to marry doing so with catering […] for non-wedding guests and at the moment they haven't got the balance right. Lees meer

The hotel was great except for the location could be better. It was a 30 min walk to the center of town or a 8-10 euro cab ride.

great hotel, staff throughout hotel exceptionally friendly, courteous, professional in all aspects. during my stay, my son and two of my grandaughters visited and stayed at the hotel also. staff seemed to out of their way to take care of them.

This was a very nice hotel - we enjoyed our stay here very much.

There was a wedding on the 2 nights I stayed there. I was on the 2nd floor, wedding was on the ground floor but the guests both nights felt the need to come up to the 2nd floor and run down the corridors screeming waking everyone. The 2nd night the guests thought it would be great fun to use the fire extinguishers at 4.30am and wake everyone up and […] destroy the corridors. Also the wedding is in the reception for ages so its hard to get through all the suits, dresses and hats to talk to the receptionist. Dont stay here if there is a wedding on which is probably every weekend! Other than that the hotel has nice decor and the staff are nice. Lees meer

Need to have a relaxing weekend break?, well then I recommend the Westwood,Galway. Quality rooms, Restaurant and friendly staff in an extremely relaxing atmosphere. The city centre is a maximum walk of 20mins yet the surrounding neighbourhood is quite and tranquil.

hotel was clean and comfortable the staff were very plesant wedding in progress when we arrived so a little noisy pillows a bit hard will bring my own next time good value for money off road parking a plus

I was really impressed by all aspeacts of this hotel, convenient location, excellent service, fabulous food and in particular the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Bathroom tiles were coming up and needed attention. Shower/bathtub is an engineering disaster.Shower is too narrow and the shower door (1/2 door) allows water to splash outside the tub. No handholds for safely entering and exiting the shower.

WE had a fabulous stay at this hotel, on our arrival our room was upgraded to a superior room for no extra cost, they seperated the King Size bed into two seperate twin beds as we didn't want a double. Even on one of the busiest weekends in Galway with teh Volvo round the World Race on, tehy still git us a table in a restaurant no problem.

There were qutie a few functions going on at the time of our visit and there was quite a lot of noise during our stay

Ich habe mich im Westwood sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten in der Umgebung zu tun, ansonsten liegt es für einen Besuch in der Stadt ein bisschen weit ausserhalb.

Fräscht och trevligt hotell. Wifi fanns men fungerade inte på det egna rummet. Lite långt att gå till centrumkärnan med tanke på att det inte var någon trivsam promenadväg. Busshållplats finns alldeles nära hotellet och det tar 10-15 min till city. Bussturerna är dock inte särskilt täta (ca en gång i timmen kvällstid). qualité du service, propreté des chambres et de l'ensemble, silence et bonne insonorité, calme. Le pub de l'hotel est tres bien, avec une ambiance tres irlandaise.
