Wingate by Wyndham - Longview in Longview

My family lives in Longview & I've stayed @ this hotel several times. This was worst experience yet. Room hadn't been dusted or truly "cleaned" in what appeared to be months. At least 4 things broken when we arrived & poor girl at front desk said she was THE ONLY PERSON WORKING!! No maintenance, though was only 2:00pm Sat, no housekeeping, nothing. […] Same thing @ breakfast. Even the juice machines were broken but no alternatives offered. The room was very dirty. The bathroom and shower was really bad. I expect way more from a Wyndham branded hotel. I will never stay in this hotel again. It really is a dump!

Toilet paper and facial tissues were a premium, there were no additionals present in the room. The A/C would not maintain adequate temperature without manual adjustments. the TV picture would blink about every minute. The lobby breakfast could use some additional heating elements. Very good. Elevators needed some maintenance and the pillows were uncomfortable but otherwise a nice stay.

First day no bath towels 2nd day no soap or shampoo never vacuumed the room during my stay Walls and lighting switches are dirty Makes me wonder if they change the sheets between customers This could be a very clean and comfortable hotel is they cleaned it up and hired good housekeepers

One BIG negative.........they did NOT have the room available when we arrived. Had to wait. Some kind of mix up on booking, but since it was already paid for they had to find us a room. Irritating!

We have stayed there many times on our journey to Houston from Tennessee and find it is worth the 25 mile drive to stay there rather than Marshall, Texas. The staff members are friendly, the hotel is well kept, there is an indoor pool, and there is a complimentary breakfast. Also, there are wonderful restaurant within walking distance.

The entrance to the hotel was somewhat confusing. I am not sure we ever found the true entrance; we always seemed to be winding through the parking lots of two other hotels.

WE WERE THERE TO SEE THE BALLOON RACE BUT YOUR FRONT DESK DID NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE RACE AND DID NOT KNOW WHERE WE COULD BUY TICKETS. I WOULD SUGGEST YOUR PEOPLE AT THE FRONT SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CURRENT EVENTS IN LONGVIEW.

I reserved my room during a sale on hotels.com, so I'm not sure what the regular rate is or if I'd have stayed at full price, but I think it was a great deal at the sale price for the quality of the hotel.

I found that the staff at the Wingate truly cared about the comfort of the guests. The front desk man, even though obviously swamped with work, bent over backwards to take care of my request. I think there usually were 2 people supposed to be working the desk at that time, but for some reason one of them was out, and I was really impressed with the […] way the one guy took care of everything. Also, the housekeeping staff were very courteous, and when I didn't need my room cleaned, and just asked for some more of the stuff I had run out of(coffee pods, shampoo, soap,etc.), they gladly gave me enough to last to the next day. And the Indoor pool and hot tub appear to be maintained meticulously by the engineering staff-I met one of them and was impressed by his knowledge of multi-use pool maintenance. This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel while visiting family in Longview. It is convenient to everything and close to the major highway. The pool and sauna area is kept clean, as well as the workout room. Both are stocked with towels and restrooms in the public area are clean. Our room was fresh smelling and clean, no odors of smoke within. […] The free continental breakfast was a step above with extras like fresh waffles, fried eggs for the fresh biscuits, and sausage gravy. This hotel was surprsisingly affordable for the qaulity of the amenities. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was good and the room was cleaned well and restocked each day with bathroom supplies and clean towels.

The Hotel was clean, and nice. The indoor pool was great for my grandchildren! However, I think there could have been some improvements! Nice hotel, good size room, comfortable bed & pillows. Nice pool and hot tub! Location of the hotel was a bit tricky as it is located on a divided highway and hard to find the entrance.

Came during Christmas so we weren't there a whole lot. The only real problem we had was that you could hear through the walls. One morning we heard a couple arguing. They weren't yelling, just arguing at a little higher than normal speaking volume. I'm sure even if they weren't arguing we'd be able to hear them still. It was a little stuffy, but since […] you can't open windows in hotels anymore we were able to turn the a/c on for about 5 min and it was a little more comfortable. The hotel staff came in everyday except Christmas, but left us a note the day prior to let us know if we NEEDED them to come through we could request it. When they came on Christmas Eve they made the bed and took the trash but didn't refill the coffee :( But they actually did come on Christmas morning and gave us some more coffee as we were leaving the room. The driveway to the hotel is really torn up, huge pot holes. Doesn't seem to belong to the hotel itself, probably the city. Not sure why the hotel hasn't asked the city to fix it though. Nice little gym; though we swore we used it we never got around to it. A strong chlorine smell in the lobby coming from the indoor pool. I like that breakfast is served until 10am, though we didn't eat it so I can't comment on the quality of it. All in all, the location is great because of all the businesses, restaurants (including Waffle House) and central to where all my family members live so next time I need to stay in a hotel in Longview I would stay here again. Hotel was clean and in good condition. The complimentary breakfast was a plus. The hotel is conveniently located on major highway and not far from downtown where we had an engagement.

Overall, I was impressed when the hotel services. Just a few suggestions to make, be sure that the room is not freezing cold when your clints arrive. I had to turn the heater on to get the room warm before taking the children in, it was already cold enough outside. I don't recall seeing a hanging door sign for this room needs turn down service, when […] I ask the cleaning crew for turn down service they had no clue want I meant. I had to state please make up the bed, replace the towels and such. Do they still even call it turn down service??? The extras where great too bad there is an cut off time of 11pm. I very much enjoyed my stay. An excellent hotel if you have kids with you, the indoor pool is great. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable, DVD player and flatscreen HD TV, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The only thing I did not like was the cigarette smoke smell. You advertise that it is smoke free but the odor is still very prevalent in the corridors and rooms.

Wingate in Longview, TX was a great place to stay. Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was hot and fresh every morning. Located near many restaurants and near mall. Price was great for this quality of hotel. Enjoyed the stay and will definitely book this hotel again in near future.
