Holiday Inn Express Middletown / Newport in Middletown

Fantastic in every respect

The room was fine and the staff were friendly and helpful. The major complaint that my friend and I have is that it was extremely noisy! A group of college students from Fairfield University were in the surrounding rooms and they kept slamming the doors and yelling in the evening out in the hallway. Our room was #331. I had to call the front desk at […] 11:00 in the evening and complain and the man at the desk said that he would take care of it. The students continued to make loud noise until at least 11:30. In the am they started slamming the doors again. We've stayed there before and never had a problem thats why we chose the Holiday Inn. It is real close to newport and the price was good. The hotel was clean and my kids enjoyed the indoor pool

Comfortable beds, clean rooms and breakfast included. Add to that an inside pool and training center. I strongly recommend this hotel

The Hotel has had the swim area revamped and improved. The breakfast has taken a slight decline,The man in charge uses dirty gloves to empty trash and then handles the food trays . It would have been nice to know that the pool and spa were closed due to hotel renovations BEFORE we booked the room.

Great! We were there during a snow storm. Staff was excellent and very accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful. The ability to walk to dinner and the malls nearby helped to kill time while they cleared the roads. Pool was under renovation BUMMER.

Front desk was pleasant & accommodating. Our room was clean & comfortable. Unfortunately the pool & spa were closed during our visit. Breakfast was served until 11am. An enjoyable stay at a reasonable price.

We attended a function at the University of Rhode Island Kingston and stayed at the Holiday Inn it was a plesant stay the staff was courteous the kids enjoyed the pool and the room was comfortable we would stay here again.

Have stayed here before and will more than likely stay here again. Nothing fancy and location is a 10 minute drive from downtown Newport. But staff is friendly and hotel is relatively new. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and all rooms have a fridge and microwave. Only 2 complaints would be that heated pool is not heated. So, if you have kids who […] want to use the pool, don't count on it. It was too cold to swim in while we were there. And do not be misled by the full breakfast with eggs and all the fixings. If you are happy with a bagel or toast and a bowl of cereal, then you can take advantage of the breakfast. But the scrambled eggs and bacon were really not edible. The adjoining and adjacent rooms were VERY loud and boistros. When I called the desk to complain the phone rang for ten minutes with no answer. I dressed and went down to the desk and there were 5 other people waiting for a receptionist.

A very very friendly hotel staff. they were as accommodating as they could be for the hurricane. They were pretty much holding the bag when they did not have enough battery lights for the stairway emergency lighting. They were not quite equipped to handle that kind of thing. but they were very good at buckling things down for the storm. very satisfied with the cleanliness of the place. also satisfied with the breakfast buffet actually was above my expectation.

Don't count on the complementary breakfast being edible. Desk service was fine. Room was a bit noisy. Bed was fine. Housekeeping was a confused, removing half used items and replacing nothing.

Hotel was on the main rd about 2 miles from downtown Newport, kids loved the pool before/after long days out.

The hotel was nice but the front desk help was horrible. They barely spoke english and when i called for assistance they were not knowledgeable or helpful. Upon check-in, we waited 15 mins before someone came to the desk to help us. We rang the bell numerous times and yelled for help.

the pool was very cold for an indoor setting. It felt like the heat was not on. The second thig was the breakfast. Good tip is go out! The powdered eggs are not so good.

A very conveniently located hotel, generally very clean, except if you have allergies, watch out for the strong chemicals! The pool was close to clean, very small, good for kids. The staff was friendly and helpful, the included breakfast was good and plentiful. Overall a very nice hotel. it was good for the price. we were missing towels and it was busy with a lot of young kids. the walls are a little thin, so heard a lot of yelling and doors slamming, but overall was fine for the price paid. would stay there again.

Our experience at your hotel was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and the ability to choose a soft pillow or firm pillow was great. We were pleasantly surprised by the soap and shampoo - they were scented with a peppermint or eculyptus - instead of the "industrial" smell that usually accompanies […] these items. That was really a plus for us. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the breakfast in the morning was a plus. We would stay here again the next time we visit Newport. WE like this hotel. The breakfast has a great selection eggs bacon warm cinnamon buns . The rooms are clean and well kept. Toilet is a little low for our comfort. We are in our 50"s Elsewise a great place to stay.

Excellent hotel at the price. Really good, tasty multiple options breakfast. Yes as per other reviews we were concerned about the noise factor, but that just depends on the season and your luck. We were lucky even though the hotel was 70% occupied everything was quite and easy.

We generally like this hotel for winter get aways and convenience. The room was clean and comfortable.

No problems here. Great place to stay if you get it for the right price. Price does seam to change by alot.
