We hadden een kamer met uitzicht op de tropische tuin, prachtig. Kamer van alle gemakken voorzien. Wel veel problemen gehad bij het inchecken: men vroeg om onze creditcard als borg voor eventuele uitgaven die wij tijdens ons verblijf zouden maken. Onze card werkte echter niet en dat werd als een (abnormaal) groot probleem gezien; ondanks dat wij aanboden om tot 500 dollar cash te 'betalen'; men wilde ons zelfs in 1e instantie als gast weigeren, terwijl het hotel natuurlijk al via hotels.com betaald was. Zeer onaangenaam en men ging pas meewerken nadat we erg hebben opgespeeld; uiteindelijk 100 dollar borg betaald. Geen leuk begin van een verder overigens prima verblijf daar.

Prima locatie om van daaruit San Diego te ontdekken. Naar o.a. de Zoo, het Balbaopark en ophaaladres van huurauto gebracht en opgehaald met shuttledienst van het hotel, ideaal. Schone kamer, van alle gemakken voorzien. Redelijk ontbijt met plastic bordjes en bestek.

Heerlijk hotel, niet ver van Sea World, San Diego Zoo, uss Midway, Gaslamp, Old Town en het strand. Allemaal binnen acceptabele tijd per auto te bereiken. Super mooi hotel met ruime kamers. Het is wel een gehorig hotel, wat vooral in het weekend lawaai met zich mee bracht van buren. Door de weeks was de marine aan de overkant van het water met trainingen bezig. Dit vonden wij niet heel storend, maar het geluid is er wel. Verder zit ontbijt er niet bij in en is heel duur als je dat nog bij wilt nemen. Dat is echt een minpunt. Als je dit hotel boekt, hou er rekening mee dat het twee locaties zijn. Wij zaten in de tower en het 'grotere gebeuren' was verder op. We hadden wel een lobby, servicebalie, restaurant en verwarmd zwembad, dus dat is prima voor elkaar. De starbucks en de grote lobby van de foto's zit in het andere gedeelte. De kamers zijn echt super ruim! We hadden een ruim zitgedeelte en eettafel erbij, en dat voor een gewone kamer. Uitzicht op zee was erg mooi.

Het hotel ligt midden in het uitgaansgebied; veel restaurants in de omgeving en ook de winkelstraat is om de hoek. De bediening is gastvrij en zeer vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is echter simpel, maar dat schijnt in Amerika normaal te zijn. Kortom: als je op zoek bent naar een centraal gelegen hotel met alle gewenste voorzieningen in de buurt en ruime kamers, dan ben je bij Gaslamp Plaza suites op het juiste adres!
Ligging.
Days Inn - South San Diego ligt in South Bay in San Diego, met bezienswaardigheden zoals Las Americas Premium Outlets, Knott's Soak City San Diego en Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in de buurt. Andere bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving zijn Dierentuin van San Diego en San Diego Convention Center.
Hotelvoorzieningen.
De accommodatie beschikt over een een businesscentrum. Elke ochtend wordt gratis ontbijt geserveerd. Extra voorzieningen zijn onder andere meertalig personeel, gratis kranten in de lobby en een magnetron in de lobby. Gasten kunnen gratis parkeren.

Het hoofdzakelijk residentiële South Bay heeft centra met industrie, handel en militaire installaties. Het Knott's Soak City Water Park en het Coors Amphitheatre, waar grote concerten worden gegeven, zijn populaire toeristische attracties van South Bay.

"Not bad for the price."
The hotel was nice and clean. The only thing is it is a bit of a drive from downtown San Diego and the clerks at the desk are not the friendiness.

"big rooms"
We had a room with 2 beds, and it seemed a lot bigger than rooms with just one. There's a table desk,night stand,2 beds, full closet, and still a lot of room. Was not cramped. Quiet considering it was off the freeway. Breakfast was decent, apple and orange juice. Muffins,danishes,oatmeal and cereal. Fruit didn't look good tho. "Pleasantly surprised."
Even though its 10 minutes from the Mexican border, surprisingly enough, the noise was minimal. Parking is insufficient, but for the price ... this place is definately worth it, the staff was great!

Stayed for a couple days while visiting family, it was a convenient location to the family we were visiting. Better price & deal in general than a couple of the other surrounding areas motels. Cleaner also. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

"The room was nicer than we expected"
This room was large, we had a working fridge, microwave, coffee pot and hair dryer. We had lots of lighting and room to move around. We had 6 large drawers for our clothes and a full size closet! I didn't expect so many amenities for this low price. We will stay at Days Inn again.

We were very satisfied with our room, it was large with a sofa, refrigerator, & microwave. It's an older type room but quite comfortable. The hotel room had stains and dirt on the chair, the carpet was very dirty, the maid did not service our room at all on our 3rd day there. We had to go ask the front desk for some clean towels. Would definitely not return.

I showed up during the recent rolling blackout, I was still able to check in. And the office help was extremely helpful. This is my second time using this hotel & I absolutely love them. They are polite & very very helpful. We even got a late check out time. The room was kept clean & they never had a problem giving us whaever we needed. My husband gets […] cold easy, they made sure we had enough blankets & that he was taken care of. They had a personal interest in us & they constantly made sure we had what we needed. I would highly recommend them to ANYONE who needed a hotel in the area. They are close to everything. We overall enjoyed using this hotel. And the area is great. There was oil on the curtain, a stain in front of the air conditioner and house keeping left me a note in spanish and not English.

Hotel was convenient to where we wanted to be. Parking lot a bit difficult to get in and out of. The rooms were clean and roomy. Not a bad place for the money.

loved the price of the stay, but located in an unpleasant part of town. Directly across the street is the liquor store and gas station, there were many people wondering around at all times of night. Had my boyfriend not been with me, I would have high-tailed it out of there! Sort of plus: located right off the freeway, so access to coronado island and […] san diego was nice, no more than 7 mintues to the beach on coronado and 10 minutes to shops in down town san diego. I will never stay at this place again we had no light in he bathroom and at breakfast we were just starred at as if they didnt want us eating anything. Also we asked if they can come fix our bathroom cuz it was plugged and they said flat out no we had to come get plunger and do it ourselves. "Days inn was far beyond more than i expected!"
My family and I did a travel from tijuana to san diego, we visited tijuana, san diego, huntington, anaheim and vegas. And i have to say that Days inn San diego was the Best hotel that we stayed, yet is was the more affordabble, Internet connection was a charm, i like the fact that room included minifridge, microwave, hair dryer and iron (on request) […] you have near several restaurants a convenience store across the street and two gas stations on corner, a plus if you are traveling and need to refuel on your way out. a few street away is a autocinema too. we enjoyed the comfort of this room so much, that we rent another night on our way back to tijuana. "Mr Mookey - Is My Hero!!!"
All I have to say is...My youngest son left his glasses in our room. Called a couple of days later and yes they were found. Mr Mookey right away asked for my info and is sending via mail. No questions asked!!!! The room was nice, clean, and comfy!!! Good neighborhood and easy access to freeway. plus for convenience - hotel was close to freeway and beaches. also, the hotel staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful from the front desk to managers to maids. however, the hotel was really more or a motel - the lobby was too small to eat the meager breakfast offered (2 cereals and pastries) and the room was not pleasant enough to hang in. if you […] are looking for a place to sleep near imperial beach, then this is a good option. just don't expect any extras. "Would stay again if in the area"
The surrounding neighborhood is kinda sketchy, but I felt comfortable in my hotel area and room. The room was clean. It was a little noisy because you are so close to the freeway, but it was good enough for the price. I would stay again if I was down in the southern area of San Diego.

"Days Inn - South S.D."
The motel is actually really close to downtown, but that was not the issue. The issue was that the area and even the motel front were super duper ghetto. I have stayed at many Days Inns before and this one is by far the worst. The tv inside was all tiny and old school, the room smelled stale, the worst part though was the bed! Underneath the bedsheet, […] the mattress was covered by the same kind of thing that my daughter's crib mattress is covered in. I get why it was there and I'm glad that it was but it would have been nicer if it wasn't the cheapest version ever of that thing. It was like hard plastic and it crinkled all loud. Just overall not comfortable. The pillows were nice though. They seemed new. The room was clean by the standards of that room. I did really like the loud air conditioner, seriously. It drowned out all the sound from outside with some beautiful white noise that lasted all night long. Not at all like those annoying air conditioners that are loud and then kick off when they feel they reached their appropriate degree, which they never do, by a long shot. Anyway, on the same night of check in we called hotels.com and told them that this is not what we were looking for and they were great about helping up to find somewhere to stay in downtown and canceling the reservation that we had, considering it was 4th of July weekend, we were grateful to get another one. "San Diego hotel"
This hotel was located in a less than safe neighborhood. It was right off the Freeway which made for a lot of noise. The room wasn't clean and smelled like mold. The beds were awful and the sheets didn't appear to have been cleaned. We checked out a day early because we didn't feel safe.
"A Good Value"
This hotel was definitely not a five star experience however after reading the reviews I went in expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very nice and the room was clean and pretty large. It has a king size bed and a couch with a fridge and a coffee maker. There was also a complimentary breakfast that included orange juice, coffee, […] toast, fruit, and pastries that you served yourself from the check in office. The area wasn't awful either. It is right off the freeway and located near quite a few Gas Stations and some diners. Overall it was a perfect place to catch some sleep between activities. Lees meer

If you need a place to crash, this is fine, but don't expect anything more. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the pool was full of leaves, the room had ants (before we got there), and the breakfast was very sparse indeed, even by Days Inn standards. The hotel is fairly close (within 3 miles) to a nice beach (Coronado) and great shopping (Gateway to the Americas), and there are numerous restaurants nearby. "Worst Customer Service Ever Disgusting Rooms"
The clerk at the desk complained openly about being bothered by all the people he had to help as the hotel was full. He then began clearing away the pathetic excuse for a breakfast 20 minutes before it was over and rudely commented about how breakfast was going to be over so people needed to leave. The irony is the breakfast service was located in the […] dirty, small lobby that could only fit about 5 people at a time. Not only that but I thought I was going to catch herpes from using the bathroom at the hotel. This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed and I would gladly pay more money to be treated like a human being. Lees meer
"Ants in beds!"
It was awful. There were ants on the bathroom counter and in the bed. The first night there, I was exhausted and went straight to bed, only to wake up with some ants crawling on my face/body. There was open electrical, and spiderwebs in corners on the floor, not even the ceiling! Also, underneath the bathroom counter were tons more spiders and webs.
