Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Portland-NW Downtown in Portland

Excellent place to stay..very clean and the BEST breakfast and its free. We stayed at a five star in pdx the week before and paid 100.00 more for a room that was awful in comparison. We Will stay here again. Pienaar family

Everything was very nice, well maintained, the staff was friendly, rooms clean and comfortable. My only complaint (and I did not ask, which is my problem), is that they needed softer pillows - mine were all too firm and it screwed up my neck and shoulders. With that exception, it was great for both location and comfort.

Nice hotel in a good location on Portland's NW side. Plenty of dinning and shopping clse by on 23rd Street. Hotel is a typical HIE with a friendly staff.

It was quiet, clean, well managed, no hidden fees for parking or wireless. All you could ask for and more. . Pool was warm, breakfast was plentiful and great quality, they even used compostable plates and service. Great Hotel. Would stay again.

Excellent except that despite the hotel policy of saving water and energy by re-using towels, our towels were replaced every day. Great neighbourhood close to NW 23rd Ave - very funky.

The rooms are small but nicely furnished and clean. The towels are fluffy. The breakfast was a little above average. It is on two bus lines, so it was fairly easy to get around Portland without a car. We stayed here because the hotel offered rooms at special rates for runners participating in a marathon or half-marathon nearby. However, they would not […] extend our check-out time beyond noon. This made our post-race departure hurried and unpleasant. Any hotel that agrees to be designated a race hotel should expect to extend check-out times by 2-3 hours to accommodate marathoners. Stayed for three nights while visiting our daughter. Hotel was very clean, staff was helpful and it was the most economical choice for us. Parking was free and a hot breakfast included in the price. Location was fine..just minutes to get downtown. Pool and hot tub were especially nice after a long flight.

The room size is generous and the free breakfast was decent. The location made sense for me and was at the very end of 23rd. However, anywhere north of there seemed rather industrial. Staff at the desk was friendly.

The hotel was very nice, I'm definitely enjoying the breakfasts that Holiday Inn Expresses have. And the beds were pretty comfortable (which is a big plus for my bad back) The overall consistent quality of the hotels and services in this chain will definitely see me visiting again.

It is very convenient to the street where many restaurants are located. You don't need a car and you can use the public streetcar to get to downtown and places of interests. The only problem was that we had a very excited 9 year old wanting to swim and the pool was broken and when we asked when it would be ready the manager was rude and stated "Well, I don't know I need to make a phone call before I can answer that". This was the closest hotel to my business venue, and it is very well worth it!

We have stayed at this location several times. It's great for getting around downtown yet not overcrowded. Parking is free, it has a great breakfast and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Even though our last stay was affected by some other rude hotel patrons, the staff made every effort to rectify the situation.

This is the fifth time we've stayed at this property. It is comfortable and very well located for all of Portland

I stayed in Portland to attend a wedding reception, and enjoyed this hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the accommodations were great. Being close to the freeway, it was easy to get around the city. The only fault I could find was that our room was not supplied with enough towels (the number of towels varied each day), and we almost ran out of […] toilet paper and had to request more. Also, I would recommend adding some fruit to the breakfast buffet. During my stay, I only saw green bananas. The area directly around the hotel is a little noisy, but we did not hear anything in our room, on the second floor. Great soundproofing! Within a few blocks, there are very good restaurants, taverns and bakeries in a wonderful, tree-lined area. We walked around, shopped a little and enjoyed some delicious meals. I used the gym several times, and found it adequate and about what I would expect from a smaller hotel. It appeared to be clean and well-stocked with towels and water. The hotel breakfast is perfect for families traveling. The parking is free which is hard to find in Portland. You can find excellent expresso at Kobos right next to the hotel. If you are up for a fun walk you can explore the shops on NW 23rd street. We walked to the Portland Timbers game and had a great stay! We will return!

This hotel is great. Located close to Nob Hill. A very nice area for shopping and restaurants. Clean rooms , still pretty new and friendly staff for a great price. Includes free parking and a hot breakfast. Should be rated more than 2.5 stars. More like 3 to 4 stars. We stay here every time we are in Portland.

This hotel is just off I-405 in Portland, so while it is not exactly in the downtown area, all parts of the city are very accesible. This Holiday Inn is in between the industrial district and the "Trendy" blocks (21st & 23rd) with its restaurants and boutique shops. On the other side of the hotel is the Clear Creek Distillery (tours available). Public […] transportation is easily accesible. A plethora of restaurants and shopping are nearby, not to mention what is available downtown. This hotel is just a few blocks away from being in a really nice neighborhood. As it is, it's close to the 23rd St. streetcar line so it's pretty convenient, but as you walk from the station to the hotel, the neighborhood starts to deteriorate a bit. Das Hotel ist bereits abgewohnt, das Zusatzbett war nicht wirklich komfortabel. Beim Frühstück war störend, dass es keine Mikrowelle gab, wo man die Milch wärmen konnte. Die Umgebung ist aufgrund der Straße recht laut. Mit dem Auto hat das aber den Vorteil, dass das Hotel gut zu erreichen ist. Einmal wurde das Zimmer nicht aufgeräumt, die Reklamation […] führte auch nicht zu einem Erfolg. Das Hotelpersonal reagierte aber dann sehr professionell und freundlich.
