Hotel Londra & Cargill in Rome

While the rooms were warm, clean and spacious, the front desk staff appeared Parisian in their approach to consumers. The hotel is somewhat removed from the center of Rome so you will need to do alot of walking to the nearest Metro station; however, the trade off is that the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Physically the accomodations were excellent. Even though the folks at the front desk answered our questons they often made us feel like they couldn't wait to be done with us. They were cold and objective and never smiled when greeting us or providing assistance. They could take a lesson from the folks at the hotel in Sorrento we stayed at....Grand Hotel […] De La Ville. We found the hotel to be completely updated. Rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. Breakfast was different than a USA type but quite varied and adequate. We would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the cold responses from most of the people at the front desk. They might try service with a smile for a change.

We have been travelling to Rome for 40yrs and have therefore stayed in quite a few hotels. This was our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and we wanted to be close to the Via Veneto area. This hotel is one of the friendliest , cleanest and most comfortable hotels I have been in. Lovely hotel, alittle modern by Rome standards. Good location. quiet yet 10 min walking distance to metro, My husband felt the bed was too hard. I thought it was okay. This hotel is a little bit far from the sites of Rome, but compensates by being very quietly located with little traffic noise. Staf are very willing and able to help in all respects

Great hotel and service. The location was slightly off the centre but it's still good if you plan to go sight-seeing on foot. It is less than 10 mins from the centre by cab. The hotel staff were very helpful, they provided maps and gave directions on how to get by. My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with no problems. Staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. Rooms are a good size with a lovely large bathroom. Very clean throughout which I feel is most important. The breakfast was superb. Although no hot food, there was a wonderful array of good food plenty choice to suit everyone. Couldn't […] fault it. I would certainly recommend this hotel. There are plenty nice restaurants nearby and it is only a 10 minute walk to some of the main attractions. If you don't fancy the walk, the buses stop just around the corner and you can travel for only 1 euro each. I think that some people who have left poor reviews have obviously not read the details about the hotel before staying there. Booking a hotel depends on what you personally want to use your hotel for. If you are going to be out exploring Rome all day long - what is the point of having a nice view from your room? Read the details first before booking your hotel to make sure the hotel fits your expectations - don't blame the hotel for its location etc when you can read about these details online before you book! Nice hotel with friendly peopl.close to bank too change money, close to restaurants including Hard Rock Cafe. Walking distance to trevi fountain and piazza spagna for shopping.

Excellent hotel . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and very clean. Excellent breakfast very substantial with a wide choice and efficient waiter& waitress service. Ideal location with plenty of good restaurants within 5 to 10 mins walking distance. Would definitely recommend it to my friends

My wife and I spent six nights at the hotel in October. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful. The bed was large and comfortable, and the maid service was top notch. The hotel serves a nice European breakfast--cheeses, cold cuts, various bread rolls, sweets, as well as cereals. The only downside was the absence of fresh fruit. great start to a visit to Rome. and their breakfast buffet started each day off beatifully - cereals, breads, fruit, endless coffee, and pateries. they provided a computer with internet at no charge in the lobby Staff was excelllent, location is in a quiet enclave but close to what you need. Stayed four nights and would defintely return.

Well located Hotel Helpful and friendly staff pleasant room and good breakfast.

It was overall a great experience. The rooms were very clean, the staff was very professional and helpful. I would highly recommend it. It was not "close" to anything but very convenient to walking to the subway which will take you all over Rome. Give it a 5-star rating from us.

Upon checking in the man at the front desk asked my name and how many nights we were staying. He then proceeded to tell us the internet wasn't working and we needed to walk a block to your other hotel. What? We told him that we booked 4 months ahead for this hotel and did not want to go to another hotel. He responded by telling us it would be a suite. Great hotel. Neighborhood is not central to sights, but everything in Rome is close by. Excellent rooms and bathroom, exceptional service by front desk staff. This hotel is a great value for Rome and I would highly recommend staying here.

The location was ideal for us as we had stayed in this area before and know it well. There are lots of good restaurants and a lovely irish bar nearby. The room was a generous size , very clean and comfortable. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. They had a selection of bread, cakes and pastries, […] cold meat, fruit, cheeses, yoghurt, juices, and cereals. This was served with your choice of tea, coffee, capuccino or hot chocolate. My only complaint was that the prices in the hotel bar were rather steep. I would stay here again just not order anything to drink in the hotel bar. Lees meer

I just got back from this hotel and would definitely recomend it. The room was spotless and spacious. The location was also good. A lot of restaurants in the neighborhhood and the Termini station is only about a 15 min walk from there.

Me and my wife just returned from our holiday and we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel, the room and hotel staff were great, Wi-Fi was a great touch. the location of the hotel is a little out of the way, however a great walk nonetheless.

Just returned from Rome on our first visit, and this Hotel situated within a 10 euro taxi ride of Termini Station. All stff spoke very good English, and were accomodating throughout our stay. Any enquiries at Reception, they would check on attractions/ tours/ travel immediately. Beds were not as bad as i imagined from previous posts, and very spacious […] in the Superior double room. Rooms were cleaned daily after we left for sightseeing. Downside was my frustration at not being able to connect my laptop to their WI-FI (that's more my fault really) as they only have the 1 computer, which is to be fair generally free. Although Hotel was nearly fullybooked from Receptions explanation, it never looked very busy around the place, quiet at most times really, other than at breakfast around 9-10.30. Breakfast staff very friendly and helpful, as was barman who supplied Ice to my wife on a few occasions. Downside was very little social lounge area to relax upstairs, as this seemed deserted with lights switched off in evenings. Reception lounge appeared and felt too obtrusive to relax, as main route to bar/restaurant. Also as weather was 30 degrees + there was no garden area/ patio to relax, as we were informed only the suite on the top had rooftop terrace. Local restaurants friendly and average prices, with suitable vegetarian dishes for us both (Try Rugerio Butero a few streets away! & Della Soffina on the main road- great service and most wonderful almond& pistachio desert! ) Overall would have expected a better facility for a 4 star hotel. And we were both prepared to walk to main attraction each day, with Barberini/Trevi 20 mins away & pantheon/colsseum 35 mins walk away. Lees meer

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room was beautiful and the hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. They helped us with planning our itinerary for the day, recommending "must see" spots and restaurants. Most of the staff spoke perfect English and were happy to help us whenever we had questions. They called around for us to coordinate restaurant […] reservations and inquire about tickets and tours. I also can't say enough about the breakfast which was included in the price; it was seriously wonderful. The hotel must have been recently renovated because the rooms were very clean and modern. There was secure parking (although it was a little pricey) so our car was safe as we walked around Rome. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to most attractions. We did end up taking a taxi to the Vatican because we wanted to get there early but I think we paid less than 10 euros for the trip. It's also a short walk to the metro, bus, and train station if walking isn't your thing. I would definitely stay at this hotel again! it was clean, it was convenient...but nothing special

the bed is the worst bed I have ever layed on. we changed our room 3 times to find a decent mattress. the hotel staff is not too friendly. this hotel is FARRR away from anything exciting in Rome. you cannot get anywhere on foot. Pas on this hotel, and it doesnt deserve 5 starts!

Very pleasant and helpful check in staff. Clean modern rooms, not huge but big enough. Location is about 30 min walk from the main sites (colliseum etc) and 20 mins walk (6 min taxi)from the train station. Some nice family restaurants within 5 mins walk.

This is a very good hotel for the price. The staff was efficient and helpful, the rooms well set up and comfortable and the included breakfast was great. The location is excellent, a ten minute walk from Termini Station on a very quiet piazza away from the noise that permeates central Rome. The hotel is half a block from the best house made gelato shop in Rome. It was always packed and the gelato was excellent. There are also wonderful restaurants a few blocks away or a short 5-10 min walk to the Via Venato. The train station is a 15 min walk and the Borghese Gallery is nearby. The hotel room is small but nice for a hotel in Rome. The […] WiFi is fast in the room and there is a deep tub for soaking after a day of sight seeing. The staff are helpful and friendly. The staff in all departments are the amongst best in our vast Hotels experience. Room 302. our first, had an smell of staleness.. Our room was changed within minutes. Lovely quite area with good local restaurants. Will recommend this hotel to all my friends.

the hotel was slightly outside the centre of rome but we knew this and it was no problem as we were happy to walk everywhere and it was good to see a different part of rome. it is quite near the villa borghese which is well worth a visit being a vast park with lots to see and do. we found the reception staff very helpful. all spoke english and answered […] any questions. the breakfast was good and plentiful though there could be queuing for tables if arriving at the wrong time.however it did not take long to work out the best time to go down for b/fast. the room was always kept clean and the staff were very quick to get the job done. we also liked that there was a shower over the bath as we like to have the choice.the area had a choice of restaurants nearby but lacked bars being more residential than touristy. A very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We found the room to be of a high standard, clean, well maintained and comfortable. It is situated in a slightly quieter area of Rome, away from the traffic noise and we found a number of very nice restaurants within 5 minutes walk. This hotel had a great price and fantastic service. The room was much larger than I had expected and spotlessly clean. Bathroom was large with a tub. The only thing I can say is the bed was harder than I like but that seems to be a routine thing here in Rome. I have stayed at 6 different hotels in this area and I have yet to find a comfortable bed that […] is not too hard. I travel with my european ipod docking alarm clock and that seems to be a must. Breakfast was filling and service was great. There are some of the best places to eat just blocks away and if you want fantastic food in Rome stay away from the tourist trap of Via Veneto and check out the local places to eat right near the hotel and there is a fantastic gelatto place half a block up the street from the hotel that is open till about 2 am its fantastic!!!!!! This has been my favorite hotel so far its great value for the price... Like I said a hidden gem... and its in walking distance to just about everything and if you dont want to walk too far you can head to the metro line and take it from there. Lees meer
